I've been running this with a team of 4 and the spawn rates seemed fine. Kept the pressure on while exploring the biome without getting too overwhelming. However, I could see it being a major major problem if only 1 or 2 people were playing at once.

thats sad. those numbers are WAAAY to high. it will be an empty biome now, just like mistlands

Interesting point of view! I suppose all of the biomes could be viewed as empty and that most of the monster concentration are at camps, bases or dungeons. I think this change will be good for the over all player base, but man I really wish the fortresses and caves in the Ashlands had a bit more meat to them. I felt they missed the mark on those two things.

I don't think so. There are still way more spawners than in the other biomes even if the spawning frequency was nerfed.

Not sure how I feel about the changes. So far I've only done Ashlands as solo player. My server group has been doing other things. Anyhoo.... initially, when getting to the Ashlands it is nutso solo. Which was fine. One of my prouder gaming achievements of late was establishing an Ashlands beachhead without dying. Tough as hell. Was really looking forward to that particular experience in a group. Basically, I died a lot in Ashlands til I slowly got my hands on new armor/weps. Now fully kitted I feel strong enough to deal with most things. Basically, I really felt like Iron Gate intended Ashlands to kinda be your final exam for all that you learned throughout the game and thus presented you a test in an admittedly tougher environment. Will it be easier now tho? Without a doubt. Valkyrie and Morgen left alone for now so that's probably fair.

Glad I got to play the real Ashland with PTB on Xbox.
It was d-dayesque and it was great !
Looking forward to the Deep North PTB ;)

I’m not a fan of the flametal leviathans, glad to see it removed. It’s an interesting mechanic, but it gets really annoying when you have to devote a portion of your limited mining time to fending off mobs on a tiny platform.

The metal sinking going away is great. I hated that buggy mechanic all the way. Now you won't lose your precious metal no matter what. I've gotten used to the spawn rates, and now, w/the nerf, it feels like I almost never see anyone. Before, I could hang out around my fortress in the ashlands, and see about 50 guys in a span of 10 minutes, now I'm lucky if I see 5. This was way too much of a nerf. And it killed the 'you're going to war vibe' that they were going for. I really hope they dial back and bring the spawns back up some. It's way too easy now.

I have a hunch it'll be a setting in world modifiers at some point.
The game was a bit niche before it went viral and now with a console port they've got a larger audience. That inevitably causes things to change while still in development.

@@ancientsalt4291 Yes please! I would even go back to bf all the way to mistlands, and bump the spawnrate up 10x to make it similar to ashlands. It's a lot better.

Thank God. It's back to normal. I just hated them coming nonstop. I had asksvin spawn 3 at a time nonstop while doing a fortress legit. Plus the archers nonstop from outside the fort. There's just never enough stamina or mana. The pillars sinking is so dumb really, even without the bug. Thanks for good news. I had avoided going back as it was too stressful.

Any indication when/if this will go live on the main game servers? And I assume at this time nothing is changed on the main? My friends and I are about to embark to Ashlands on the main and wondering if we should wait for the changes to be implemented.

I didn't see any. If I had to guess, a couple of weeks at the most? Usually public test branches for patches are 1-2 weeks, depending on the amount of content.
You could head there now and get established and get a small base going. Just be prepared for more enemies until it hits live. If you are playing with friends, it'll be easier than if you go by yourself. Less chance of being overwhelmed.

Pretty hyped for all the changes, EXCEPT the flametal pillars not sinking. That’s a great mechanic and I definitely think that should stay in the game.

Yeah maybe they will bring it back later after they figure out the bug? Not sure.

Of course they would nerf the ashlands enemies. Too many people whining about the enemies. Its a hell scape, it was supposed to be hard. That was the point!
I agree with the flametal fix, especially since that bug screwed me more than once.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of people happy or disappointed. Sounds like they have a fine line to figure out to try and meet everyone in the middle.

About time these nerfs comes.....Now you get almost zero break from enemies. You constantly get attacked. Thats abit annoying.....
Also wish that they reduce number of Morgen caves and rather add complex dungeons instead.
Add abit more variety to them. Morgen caves you clear in a couple of mins and have only one enemy, a couple of lootboxes , meatpiles and bones..... boring....

    • @Maxxramus24
      @Maxxramus24  2 месяца назад

Yeah the caves and fortresses were kind of disappointing for me. Caves were basically the same as the Black Forest caves, but a little bit bigger. Fortresses are just a big square with no rooms or anything. And the amount of gems you get from them is very very low.
