Brought my DGX-670 home 2 days ago....I have fallen in love with this piano already. I have owned no less that 12 Yamaha digital keyboards over the past 25 years....the progress made with each passing model is astounding. This demonstration is the best I have seen yet. I bought this based simply on my past experience with Yamaha and now that I have listened to this demo, I am convinced I made the right selection! The "Auld Lang Syne" at the end of the video was a very lovely touch...thank you again!!!

Amazing demo! maybe for your next version (dgx 680, i assume?), listen to your customers: headphone jack(s) in front, not back. Line out jacks, L+R, not just headphones. And a bigger screen please, we are not 20 anymore. If you really want to do good, allow users to save settings with song names, and lots of them. memory is so cheap now. you can call it "songbook". want to go even further? allow the user to have different "sets" of songs so they can plan the show and have all their settings ready. it's only software, no hardware cost.

Yamaha you did a great job on this keyboard! But why you can't put CFX samples in your SX keyboards? Absolutely unbelievable, a 799$ arranger has a very beautiful piano sounds unlike the 1499$ SX has horrible sounding pianos.

So you will cheap out the very important sound on a keyboard (pianos) and you want us to buy super overpriced Genos just to have a CFX samples in an arranger keyboards? You did it here! It needs line out connections. Why in the world would you build such an incredible machine for making music without putting stereo line outs in it? There’s only a little headphone jack in the back. Very limiting. Those speakers aren’t loud enough to really gig with. However are you gonna connect that to a PA system

Finally! Realtime playable "Fingered on Bass" chord mode for ordinary people without (semi)flagships. But too late for me, I had to buy Korg Havian due to having this function on 88keys earlier than Yamaha... And what about the menu? DGX series and other cheap keyboards were really unfriendly in comparison with (semi)flagships.

    My questions:
I want to use this to gig as a solo performer. I would like to use the 3-pedal unit, but without the frame on the pedal unit, and with the keyboard placed on a portable, folding keyboard stand, as I currently do with the PSR keyboard I have. Is that possible? I have do quick setups and teardowns, so I cannot always be attaching and detaching the supporting frame and and tri-pedal unit. 2. Can I run the split output cords from the hh=adpho,= jack to a powered speaker amp and a PA, simultaneously, to play solo or with a band in a audience performance setting?
    3. Can I use a vocal harmonizer in between a microphone and the keyboard mic input?
    Thank you for your assistance!

Really nice! Still love my DGX 650 though, and use it every day at home. I'm not up to that level of a piano player to use the full advantage of the DGX 650 though, yet alone buy a DGX 670 (and I seem to like the looks of the DGX 650 more since it really has the looks of a digital piano instead of a keyboard). If one day it breaks down, I definitely buy the 670! I do also use my YDP-141 for practicing and a Casio CTX-5000 keyboard for arranging stuff.

Superb demo; you could make a music album with this instrument! Hello from India, am visiting from the USA. At home I own a Kawai ES 920 which is almost twice as expensive but this piano is more advanced I think. I ordered one here paying half the price up front and it will take two more weeks for delivery. I did a test run in the USA though and the sound and features are amazing. Here in India the DGX 670 costs almost $1400 in US dollars including the frame and 3 pedal attachment. Higher import duty I think. It is so much in demand it is backordered. Waiting list weeks long!

How can you see chords without backing tracks?" Can we just choose a piano sound and try to work out the chord on our own? For example, if we flat the 3rd in real time we would see it go to a minor chord and then if we sharpen it we would see it go back to a major chord. Is that possible on the 670?

I owned the DGX-650 and was very happy with it! I moved and sold that and my Casio Privia and in my new house, but the Casio Privia 860 and the Yamaha DGX-670. I play the 670 more than my Privia but I am not as ecstatic about the 670 vs the 650. I know the 670 has a 256-bit polyphony and the sounds are supposed to sound superior compared to the older gens, but in particular, I am complaining about the pipe organ. The pipe organ on the 670 is not very good and doesn't sound like a pipe organ at all! To be fair, it isn't technically called a pipe organ but it is referenced to be that.
My question: Can I get the original pipe organ sample from the 650 or 660 and put it on the 670?

    • @billsmith9249
      @billsmith9249 Год назад

@@YamahaMusicAu Thank you for the reply. I did play around with layers and such, using hymn organ 1 with a church organ sounds very good.
I do have one final question. If you can answer this you will have helped HUNDREDS of people... literally! With my DGX-650 I was able to output from the line out to a pair of self-amplified speakers and the whole setup sounded great! The DGX-670, not so much. The line out shared the same port as the headphones... and when connecting to self amplified speakers, a receiver, or a mixer with gain features, I get such a LOW VOLUME I have to have ALL the equipment involved at almost full volume and that is just to get an adequate decibel level. Is my unit defective or is that sadly how it is? I bought my DGX-670 from Kraft Music, they weren't able to help. I talked to an 'expert' at Musician's Friend, he said I needed a mixer, sold me a Harbinger LV8 mixer... that didn't do anything except now I have to have THOSE volume controls almost up all the way also. I have read too many forum posts from others who have the same problem and it isn't looking very good in terms of output to a sound system. If that is by design... why in the world would yamaha engineers think that is a good idea? :(

Excellent demo. One question I haven’t seen: can one (or more) of the 16 tracks be used to digitally record the human voice through the microphone?

Please, could you demo the following functions of the DGX-670 and answer the following questions:
    1) Chord Tutor (pages 21-22 of the Reference Manual) - how this helps to a novice?
    2) Scale Tuning (pages 10-11 of the Reference Manual) - some samples, e.g. Mean-Tone, Arabic, etc.
    3) Another Yamaha demo mentions that Yamaha Music Soft website will offer additional songs and tutorials for download. Currently this website doesn’t even search for DGX or specifies any downloads suitable for the DGX series. How to identify what’s available and what is going to work with the DGX-670?
    4) If the Australian version of the DGX-670 will be sold with the L300 stand and LP-1 3 pedals unit inclusive?
    5) How would you rate the DGX-670 weighted GHS keyboard vs the Korg’s RH3 (Real Weighted Hammer Action 3) Keyboard, which is made in Japan?
    6) As there is no MIDI DIN connectors, is there an adaptor converting the USB B female (on the back of the unit) to 2 x MIDI DIN female ports? Is it possible to connect the DGX-670 to another keyboard as a slave or master via its USB port? (E.g. I have a Yamaha KX-49 with a built-in bank of arpeggios.)
    7) Will any legacy software (e.g. Cubase 7) recognise the DGX-670 as a MIDI controller?
    8) One web reviewer complained about the DGX-660 single phones/audio output as unstable for using it as a permanent audio connection (e.g. to an amp). What about the DGX-670?
    Many thanks!

I saw it on Musician @ $799.00 but it’s-on pre-order only. Guess you will have to wait 4-6 weeks.

I am grateful for the much more professional COLOR display of the 670. My 660 has DSP which have effects with ROT in their name, but I want the sound of a rotary speaker whilst it is actually changing speed (as a real Leslie must do). Does my 660 or the 670 have this feature?

Can the DGX670 transfer audio over USB? I mean, can I connect it to the PC and record an audio file on my DAW without having any audio interface?
