@Nickflix8657 U Guys Should React To Both of The Sonic The Hedgehog Movies Someday 2 of My All Time Favorite Movies!
Hve you seen power rangers
Hey nick, can I make a request? Could you react to The Boy Next Door? It came out in 2015 and it stars jennifer Lopez, you loved her in Selena, so you’ll really like her in the boy next door, and it really brings out her acting skills.
You should check out Stuart little 2.
Stephen hillenburg said himself "no matter how many episodes or sequels movies are made this movie will remain the true finale of the series"
Exactly...!! There are a *FEW* good episodes in season 4, but this movie is the true finale before the episodes started getting...weird.
Cause after this the show lost its magic and delight it’s just a bunch of random stupidity and cringy stuff happening. But I hope they get to the Atlantis episode and the Gary one those are the best ones after season 3 as well as SpongeBob vs the BIG ONE
That makes sense. Because the sequels are kinda confusing me, after I first saw the first movie.
@@nathancruz9172 At least Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat appears in the opening of the third movie so they don't completely forget the first movie exists.
Which would chronologically make “Sponge Out of Water” the true first movie.
Fun little fact about the Hasselhoff scene:
Stephen Hillenburg wrote David Hasselhoff into the script without contacting the actor. Initially, he was going to have another actor play as the lifeguard. Eventually, his daughters caught wind that Hasselhoff was wanted in the movie and said he should definitely do it. Without even reading the script, Hasselhoff agreed to be in the movie. In fact, he supposedly did it for free.
That’s pretty cool 😀
Incorrect, he did get paid, but instead of money he was paid in a giant model of himself they used for the scenes on his back. He tried to auction it off once, but the bids got really high so he changed his mind and decided to keep it. To this day he has it somewhere in his house
@@SirWenzlington I'm pretty sure in The Absorbing Tale Behind The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie special feature on the film's DVD and Blu-ray releases, David Hasselhoff stated he got a phone call to do the role and accepted the role. I don't know if the phone call had Stephen Hillenburg on the other line, but Stephen Hillenburg talked about David Hasselhoff's inclusion in the film and even his stunt double so he's aware.
Hey guys I’m kind of young , was hadselhoff supposed to be a reference to batwatch?
@@DOWNTOWNMAKYes, something I definitely wouldn’t have gotten either lol
This is why you need to watch the show before watching the movie. When Cody watched the movie for the first time, he hardly got emotional at all when SpongeBob and Patrick were about to die. And now, after watching it again, it looked like he was on the verge of tears. It's because he's seen the show and has become really attached to the characters. I've grown up with SpongeBob my whole life, and that one moment makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it.
Yeah but on the flip side of the coin, Plankton being a bad guy in his introduction in "Plankton!" was already spoiled for Cody as he watched the first movie before watching the actual show. Plankton is a bad guy and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie makes that pretty clear, even to viewers like Cody at the time 2 years ago who were unfamiliar with Plankton's role in the TV show.
This movie and The Simpsons movie really require you to watch the show not just because of the emotional attachment, but all the show references that cause jokes to go over peoples head.
This year will be the 25th Anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants!
And the 20th anniversary of the first movie. Wow, I’m feeling old, even though I’m 17 years old.
I’ve never seen Nick laugh so hard at movie before
Neither have I.
Me neither 😂
Rest in peace
Buster Keaton 1895-1966
Charlie Chaplin 1889-1977
Jules Engel 1909-2003
Roger Ebert 1942-2013
Jerry Lewis 1926-2017
Stephen Hillenburg 1961-2018
and Paul Reubens 1952-2023, Hillenburg screened a number of silent shorts from Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Jerry Lewis and Pee Wee Herman were both obvious inspirations for SpongeBob
You could also add Curly Howard from the Stooges as an inspiration for the "man-child" persona.

I'm barely ten minutes in, and I don't think I've ever seen you guys laugh so much! Can't wait for the rest of season 3!
I hope you guys do more SpongeBob show reactions. This is by far the greatest movie based on a TV show ever. The epic story, iconic characters, and banger songs, and especially the build up to "Goofy Goober Rock" are all just amazing. And I love the message that it's okay to let your inner kid out sometimes. If the show had ended here, as originally intended I would have no complaints.
Of course!! Next week the show reactions will resume. Just on vacation currently so want to wait until I am back to resume!!
@@nickflix8657can’t wait for the show return and this movie is great
@@nickflix8657Are you and Cody resuming the SpongeBob show when you come back?
Yep, the show reactions will continue next week!!
@@nickflix8657 AWESOME
"Mustard or Ketchup" will always be iconic to me😂
Let's be honest, Squidward is older than SpongeBob, but when it comes to work he is WAY less mature. There's a difference between annoyance at customers and apathy at work. And it's clear he doesn't even want the promotion
This movie was intended to be a series finale, but the show continued afterward. I still see it as set at the end of the show (whenever that should be). Many things from the movie aren’t featured in the show, so maybe.
Also make sure to watch the 2015 sequel/prequel “Sponge Out of Water”. It’s pretty fun.
I still like to consider the 2015 movie a sequel even if the events from the first movie are not referenced in it. Plus, storyboards and early marketing called it "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2."
I thought I remembered hearing that the first movie is canonically the series' end.
Later on this year, this movie is going to be it's 20th anniversary! Glad you guys got to watch this film together like you watch the TV show together!
And Shrek 2
This movie was a lot of fun, SpongeBob may be a kid, but he’s a multitalented kid with a steady job and a lot of friends 💛💛💛💛💛
If you only knew how much of an impact this movie and cartoon has had on my life, it would either surprise you a lot or not at all depending on how much you know me personally. This movie is EVERYTHING!! It's iconic in every sense of the word, from the memes to the jokes to the plot points. I've loved this movie ever since I was a toddler and I'll continue loving it!!
As for the other movies and seasons 4-9a, they're alright, but not as good as the predecessors. But hopefully y'all love them, too, whenever you get to them!!
I enjoyed seasons 1-4 and like the first half of season 5 in my opinion.
This movie, as well as Spongebob in general, were very important parts of my childhood, and watching you guys laugh so hard at it made me smile. I love the message this movie has; "Don't let labels dictate what you can and can't do, and it's okay to be who you are." This is still one of my favorite traditonally animated movies and I can't believe it's turning 20 this year!
I’m glad that the first SpongeBob movie was another cinematic smash hit for Nickelodeon, much like the Rugrats films. Credit goes to Stephen Hillenburg for the film’s success (may he rest in peace). Always a fun and wacky time with this movie for me and even more fun with you and Cody as well.😄
Don't forget about The Wild Thornberrys Movie.
Rugrats in Paris will always be the best Rugrats film to me.
@@andykishoreI Would Love To See Nick and Cody React To That Movie Someday!
I never watched Rugrats growing up, but I watched the first Rugrats recently and it was great.
Still a classic! It keeps the charm of the SpongeBob series while also being a good standalone movie with a really good message of how adults should still be treated as adults even if they enjoy things that kids like.
I like that message too 🙂
I haven’t watched this movie in years but watching this I could recite almost the whole thing 😂 I didn’t realize how many SpongeBob quotes I actually think and use in everyday life 😂
Wow, it's like you knew I was crying. Thx for the pick-me-up, fellas
The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie is one of the movies I watched a lot as a kid and I absolutely love it to this day, it's just a fun movie and the animation is so good! Awesome reactions from you and Cody!
This movie is such a masterpiece ! It’s so awesome to see you and Cody reacting to it !
This movie is a masterpiece of art! Glad you & Cody enjoyed! the Goofy Goober song still makes be laugh so freakin hard!
Me too.
I am glad Cody join you in watching the movie you two have a great friendship dynamic in the reacting the SpongeBob series
Yay! I’ve been looking forward to this reaction!
A SpongeBob movie reaction by NickFlix with his boy Cody? This is a dream come true 🥹
This is so much better with you watching it with Cody since you guys are doing spongebob together, love your reaction ❤️
Originally the opening was going to be intentionally lower quality with Patchy and Potty, but executives didn't understand why they'd want something to look so bad
I hate executives but they were right for this changed. I like Patchy but he wouldn’t work for a big theatrical movie. It should feel like a big, visually impactful movie that deserves to belongs in the theaters, and not a hour long episode in a big screen.
I heard Patchy and Potty were considered for this movie, but were replaced "because the movie folks don't really understand [Patchy and Potty's] appeal. Intentionally low production values scare them."
Mr. Lawrence, Plankton's voice actor killed it, well his voice resonates in a way no other character in the show has managed to replicate. Underrated 😂
2:08 I like the way you guys danced just like I did when I first saw this movie😃😂
Same here 😁
I still remember seeing this in theaters as a kid! Those were great times!
I Was 13 in 2004 When I Saw This Movie I Enjoyed It!
Me too.
@@nathancruz9172This Movie Still Holds Up To This Day!
It's been so long since i've seen this movie, i forgot just how amazing it is 😁 definitely due a full rewatch soon, love how much your enjoying this one 😊
Hope you'll consider the rugrats movies especially rugrats in paris 😊
Yeah, the first 2 Rugrats movies are good too. Even Rugrats Go Wild I thought was okay and I don't understand the hate behind that movie.
Yessss! While I would have loved to see your reaction to this alone, having Cody with you is just as great! It does make sense given you guys have been doing the show together. Thanks for all the great content Nick can’t wait for 2024!
This movie is a classic! I love it SO MUCH 🥰✨️❤️
This Movie is a National Treasure just like the Show. Pure Comedy Gold! Thank you both for reacting to this!
It never occurred to me that King Neptune in the movie and King Neptune in the show are both... King Neptune.
I can tell Tom Kenny had a blast doing drunk SpongeBob
Now that I’m older I wont be ashamed to cry now when they felt like they failed and when they realized they made it they knew it wasn’t in vain.
Can’t wait to watch this one, been waiting for this reaction since you started the show together!!!
"why don't you ask my wall of 374 consecutive employee of the mouth awareds?" means Spongebob has been working for the Krusty Krab for A LEAST 31 YEARS
Can't believe that this movie is nearly 20 years old this year! 😭 but I still love this movie so much!! 🥰🩷
I cried that the scene of Spongebob and Patrick death and though that's was the end of the show since I was a kid. And I return and saw that again, as adult. I cry. But great movie of Spongebob.
I was enjoying every minute of this reaction. Ever since Cody did he's reaction i always wanted to see Nick watch this one and that day has finally come and it was made even better when Cody joined along when you both laughed at the scenes i was definitely laughing along. I'm glad you liked this movie its a classic i love looking back on at least 4 to 6 times a year when i need a good laugh. Great reaction as always
Technically this movie was supposed to be the ultimate finale for the show and takes place after the entire series so King Neptune is really Neptune the IV or something like that. Also Scarlet Johansen plays Mindy and Alec Baldwin is Dennis
That’s right.
Stephen Hillenburg stated in The Absorbing Tale Behind The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie special feature that he wanted to put some new characters into the movie, even if one of them contradicts Neptune's appearance in the show and Battle for Bikini Bottom.
LOL Nick’s reaction to how long it’s been and we’ve been waiting.
I’m so glad they both were laughing so much. This movie definitely holds a cultural impact. That goofy goober song goes wild and I’ve been to metal concerts while waiting inbetween sets, they played the exact goofy goober song and clip from the movie and the crowd absolutely *RIOTED* . The mosh pit was going harder during those two minutes vs the entire concert. 😅😂
✨RIP to the greatest Stephen Hillenburg~ you were too good for this world✨
It’s hilarious how SpongeBob mess up his boating test but he drives perfectly in the patty wagon
Watching two grown men lose their shit over the SpongeBob SquarePants movie made my morning. This was hilarious, thank you for making my day
The Spongebob Squarepants movie is so awesome. It has the best songs, great adventures and funny moments. I'm a Goofy Goober!
🎵🎵🎵💥💥💥🤣🤣🤣
This entire movie still makes me laugh
Me too.
Same 😂😂
9:44- Best Moment Ever!!! 😂😂😂
I hold a lot of respect for this movie using the series main cast instead of just counting on celebrities. They're there, but not taking the roles of people of who we've enjoyed
The first movie is iconic and awesome and emotional especially the death of SpongeBob and Patrick
But, the 😢 helps to destroy the 🔌 and the sprinkler systems on to keep them alive.
great reaction! the old lady ice cream monster scared the crap out of me as a kid
This is essentially the finale because the Spongebob creator, Stephen Hillenburg, decided to end the show at 3 seasons and this movie to avoid "jumping the shark" but other people didn't want to stop so that's why the show kept going for so long. I know you guys are still watching season 3 so you're nearing the end of the Golden seasons. Although, many fans say seasons 4 and 5 are Silver seasons because some are good. This is just to confirm what you guys mentioned in your review. Many fans don't care about all the modern seasons. The first 3 and the movie are the best.
They should have watched season 3 first before reacting to this movie, but doing it now is cool too.
I literally cried in theaters during the Shell City scene
Same.
Sorry I am so late Nick but so excited to watch this. Your reactions never disappoint and I’m so glad you decided to watch this with Cody while you are still in the prime of the SpongeBob Show!
Fun fact the parrot that is with the pirates is voiced by the shows creator Stephen Hillenburg.
Fun fact:Princess Mindy is voiced by Black Widow, and King Neptune, in the movie, not the TV show, is voiced by Jeffrey Tambor, who voiced King Peppy in the first Trolls movie.!
Yeah, I know. That's Scarlett Johansson. That was her first voice role before Sing.
@@miguelalonso9460Yep
This movie was Scarlett Johansson's first animated role.

Yay Nick did it!!!, you made my whole day by releasing this video!
It would be very cool if the flying dutchman was in the Spongebob movie, so he could have helped them on their adventure.
Looks like that'll be for the fourth theatrical movie coming in 2025.
Nickflix is reacting to the SpongeBob Movie: YES!
With It'sTotallyCody joining in: YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie starring SpongeBob Squarepants!!!!😊😊😊😊
Probably would have been a good idea to finish season 3 before this one considering this is treated as the official ending while everything after it is basically the Star Wars prequels, but I'm glad you're reacting to this regardless.
Yeah I was hoping for that too.
I did some calculations on the 374 Employee of the Month awards that SpongeBob has;
374 awards and 12 months in a year (Since he said that he got them consecutively) means that he’s been working at the Krusty Krab for 31 years.
It should also me noted that Stephan Hillenburg was originally going to have this film as the finale to the show as well.
I don’t know if you guys caught on, but there were a lot of references to Homer’s Odyssey. Notable ones I could point out were SpongeBob and Patrick getting drunk from the ice cream, Mindy turning SpongeBob and Patrick into men, the cyclops, the bag of winds, the ice cream lady is a siren, Dennis is the comparison of Poseidon. These were the most noticeable examples I could compare to the Odyssey.
I believe King Neptune is the comparison of Poseidon.
Fun fact Spongebob's voice actor Tom Kenny also provided the voices of The Ice King in Adventure time, The Mayor and the Narrator in the original Powerpuff Girls, Cupid in The Fairly Oddparents, Mumbo Jumbo in the original animated Teen Titans and many many many more voices holy s*** he's done alot of acting and voice acting just look him up on Wikipedia and you'll see everything he's acted and voice acted in
Squidward doesn't even like working at the krusty krab, and now he's been given a manager position lol
King Neptune's redesign in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was due to a firewall between Nickelodeon and Paramount content at the time. This resulted in other elements created for the first movie not being allowed to be used in the series from 2005 to 2014. If SpongeBob has 374 consecutive employee of the month awards, he's been working there for over 30 years.
39:56 David Hasselhoff is actually swimming but around 40:08, it’s a sized prop of him to specifically for these scenes to make David seem like the he speeding fast. I pretty sure at 42:23 it’s another size model. David once owned the one swimming after the production of movie wrapped but a few years ago, he decided to auction it off for charity.
still makes me wonder how did Plankton send the crown to Shell City so quickly when it took 6 days to get there...
I remember when this was in theaters and coming outta it I was singing the Goofy Goober theme as well as others lol
374 employee of the month awards means he’s been working there for around 31 years freaking insane
The ending credits songs are good too
Hey Nick. Awesome reaction as always. Also, that’s an awesome Harry Potter shirt that you have.
Spongebob and Patrick getting high on ice cream is great.😂
You know they enjoyed it when most of the reaction is them laughing, just enjoying the movie😂
Thank you so much for this video, it was amazing as always. I’ve been so excited for this reaction ever since you started reacting to the series, and it definitely delivered. Also, I’m not sure if you’ll listen to this request since it’s not for official SpongeBob content, but I feel like both you and Cody would greatly enjoy the fan animated version of this movie or the “rehydrated version”. It’s a collaboration where ever other frame is a different artist’s animation for The SpongeBob Movie, and it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It made the movie even more enjoyable than it already was, if that was even possible. If I was a Patron I would’ve just asked for a video there, but unfortunately I can’t afford that so all I can do is hope. If you can’t react to it, I just ask that you guys consider watching it on your own time and give a review. It’s something that everyone should see at least once. No hard feelings if it isn’t possible though. Thanks again! ❤
Fun Fact: this year marks 20 years since the SpongeBob movie came out
Which is why re-releasing in theaters would be a SPECIAL occasion as well as a way to get SB fans hyped up for the fourth movie coming next year. (2025)
Heck, I'd be game if it means increasing its box office gross too!
AHHHH YAY I was hoping you guys would watch this together!
The best choice of Nickelodeon movies ever
I remember watching this in theaters with my sister and grandmother. That was the first time I ever saw David Hasselhoff.
42:20 lol Nicky just having a great time😂😂😂😂
This movie is funny thanks for doing a reaction to this movie again
The subtitles CONSISTENTLY calling Plankton "Squidward" is unreasonably funny to me.
There's actually a theory that this movie is actually that, a movie. Being filmed and that's why Neptune is so different compared to the show, because the one we see this movie is an actor fish since they can't get the real Neptune to play himself.
This movie was also meant to be the finale for the show, but it got renewed for more seasons. But at this point most of the original writers and staff left, including the creator Stephen Hillenburg. If you continue the show into Season 4, just know there's gonna be a dip in quality compared to the first 3 seasons. The dip gets more apparent as the show goes on, but by S9, Hillenburg did come back and make the show good again. He'd work on it up to his death, rest in peace, you legend!
This animation is awesome considering this came almost 20 years ago.😊😊😊😊😊
Holds well today 💛.
This movie introduced me to David Hasselhoff. As a kid, I thought he was a fictional character made solely for this movie, before learning he was a real actor lmao
GOOFY GOOBER NICK!!
I feel like everyone feels like this should definitely be best ending of SpongeBob and we would been fine with that and by the way happy 20th anniversary of the movie guys.😊
Sorta unrelated note, can’t wait for the Super Bowl this year.
If you rewatch season 1-3 you'll notice that Mr. Cabs refers to Squidward as "Mr. Squidward" and Spongbob as "M'E Boy."
One of my favorite little theories this movie ended up crafting was that one Neptune is Neptune and the other is Poseidon (but calls himself Neptune).
Great reaction! I hope this movie gets re-released in theaters for its 20th anniversary this year. :-)
42:43 Of all the fire-based gags on _SpongeBob,_ this has to be my favourite, as it best highlights the ridiculousness of underwater fire.
I love the first Spongebob movie and I love the goofy gooper song at the end.
I used to find it sooo satisfying when I was a kid when SpongeBob got ready for work😂 I’m not sure why but I did lol. Great reaction you guys!❤️
I’ve been watching this movie for 20 years, and I never put two and two together why Plankton wanted Dennis to step on them until I watched this video.
Fun Fact: This movie is partially inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. A hero and his companion(s) adventure across the ocean to reunite with a loved one, encountering along the way Poseidon/Neptun, Sirens (the frogfish), a giant cyclops, and an army of criminals. Heck, you can even argue that Plankton’s minions are an allegory for the Lotus Eaters
For a second, I thought you were talking about The Simpsons episode. LOL.
16:40 MY EYES😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
According to the shows creator Stephen hillsnburg, this movie was originally the true ending of the entire series. So any episodes from 1999 to the present will lead up to to his movie.
