- This is our Group Reaction & Review to THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE 🧽. SpongeBob SquarePants and his starfish friend, Patrick, embark on a quest to clear the name of Mr. Krabs, the owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant, who has been framed for stealing the crown of ocean deity King Neptune. Leaving the familiar confines of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Patrick venture out towards Shell City, where they hope to find Neptune's crown, but numerous obstacles stand (or float) in their way.

The Spongebob Squarepants movie is so awesome and freaking hilarious. This has some great actions, adventures and rocking songs. RIP Stephen Hillenburg for making this movie incredible. We're all Goofy Goober!

YOOOOO i've been waiting for this! Quite fitting after Spongebob & Patrick were commentators for Super Bowl LVIII yesterday, which was the greatest idea ever lol.
I don't hear a lot of people bring this up but the spongebob movie is a clear homage to Homer's The Odyssey. In it, Odysseus and his crew get lost at sea traveling back home to greece after the trojan war because Odysseus angered poseidon (Neptune). He's presumed dead during his travels back home many people start gunning for his throne and his wife (just like Plankton). During his travels he has an encounter with a cyclops over a mythical treasure and uses a bag of winds he found to guide his ship back home. Spongebob and Patrick do a lot of the same things in this movie.

A good portion of the second movie, Sponge Out of Water, is live action with them done in a cartoonish CGI. Its a decent and funny movie too, but no where as good as this❤ thanks guys!❤

Yeah this movie was meant to be the actual finale to SpongeBob said the creator of SpongeBob( 3 seasons and a movie) SpongeBob only goes today because Nickelodeon wanted to milk tf out of it, cause we’ll SpongeBob is not just their poster boy but it’s one of the most famous mascots out there.

Spongebob fell off for a few years after this movie for a multitude of reasons (the original writers left the show, Nick slashed the animation budget, etc) but the last few years have picked back up! Dont let the general internet discourse discourage you!
