Purchased the cheapest single din CarPlay screen I could find. It works pretty good. The startup screen looks generic, but everything seems to work pretty well. The sound it puts out sounds fine. The screen is clear and response time of the unit is fast when you use the touchscreen.

Did u have to download an app for the caraway to work
Hi, my iPhone X and iPhone 14 work with CarPlay with no issues. I didn’t have to download any apps. I just plug in the USB cable and it connects to the screen. iPhone mirroring has stopped working when I upgraded my iPhone software. I used to be able to mirror my phone to play movies on the screen, but the IOS update for my iPhone doesn’t allow it anymore. Only CarPlay and Bluetooth seem to work with this screen.
So I’m trying to do the iPhone mirroring on the radio if keep saying connecting but it won’t ever do it. How do I get it to work? My car play works on it though

Any idea on how to play the radio while using apple maps? If I play the radio and go to car play the radio turns off and won't go back on unless I leave car play.
Looks like a lot of people have this issue playing the radio while using carplay. The easiest way I can think of is to download a am/fm radio app to your phone. Make sure the app is compatible with carplay so the app shows up on your screen when you connect carplay to the deck.

You can make this single din unit fit with some modifications, but you are better off going with a double din CarPlay unit. This particular unit is for a single din size opening. Aftermarket companies sell kits to install a double din unit for your vehicle for an easy installation.

I cant get the carplay to work i used to different cords to
If your phone does a software update, it might cause the system to not recognize your phone when you plug in the usb cord. My old iPhone X still works with the carplay, but my newer iPhone 14 doesn’t work. I’m not too sure how to get the carplay working again with newer software updates. I have been using the Bluetooth function to play music through the system. The Bluetooth still works fine.
I did not have a blue amplifier wire....#11 will try using that port...So you just conected the red and yellow?
Hi, use the Red wire #12 to send a signal to your amplifier to turn on. The Red wire should be “12v switch” and provides power when you turn on your car. There should be no power when the car is off. Use a voltmeter to confirm the 12v is hooked up correctly and only turns on when you start your vehicle. Yellow wire is usually constant and stay on 12v even when your engine is off. You shouldn’t us the yellow wire because the amp will stay on all the time. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.

Nope, I did not use the microphone jack. My car is a convertible without an enclosed top, so it’s very loud when I drive. I can’t really talk on the phone while driving, so I skipped the microphone for my car.

Ciao, sembra che tu abbia problemi con lo schermo che non si accende correttamente dopo aver scollegato il cavo dietro lo schermo. È possibile che il cavo sia stato installato al contrario? Non ho rimosso il cavo sul retro dello schermo, quindi non conosco il problema. It doesn’t seem like there is an option. I was going to purchase a steering wheel remote control for the head unit to see if the volume can be controlled wile using car play. Haven’t had a chance to order it yet. At the moment, I have to exit out of car play, adjust the volume and then reconnect car play. It’s a hassle to change the volume.
I just bought one a bluetooth steering wheel control I'll let you know if it works.

What did you connect the Orange wires to?
Hi, I did not use the orange wire. I left the orange wire disconnected. The system has been working well without the orange wire connected.
@@DIYwithDUY From some research I found a stereo shop video that says it's the illumination wire and the orange/black is the dimmer wire
@@JamesMisplacedThanks for letting me know. I might connect the wire to my headlights so the system dims while driving at night. I'll post an update when I have a chance to test it out.

You can detach the screen, but it’s very difficult to undo the wire harness that connects the screen to the unit. It does not pop on and off easily. The mounting bracket the screen slides on is also difficult to disconnect. I wouldn’t recommend this unit if you need to remove the screen.

So where do you get 12 volt wire for memory
12v constant wire for radio memory would be the yellow wire and can be connected directly to the battery if needed. Just make sure you use a fuse in between the connection if you go directly from battery. You can usually get a multimeter and find a wire in your car that always has 12v and you can tap into the 12volt constant. My car was already wired with a factory stereo, so it had the wires ready to install. Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll try to help.
Just I confused u have red wire with 2 wire
Hi, the red wire from screen is connected to the red wire “ignition switch” from car and the blue wire goes to my subwoofer amplifier (remote wire). The blue wire turns my amplifier on when the ignition switch is turned on. I had to do this because the screen does not have a blue remote wire to turn on an amplifier.

Hi, I just uploaded a new video on how to switch to CarPlay without unplugging the usb and replugging the usb back in. This allows you to switch to radio, change volume and switch back to CarPlay. Thanks for watching.

@@MZMIA100 no problem. I figured out even more info on how to use the unit including CarPlay, playing pandora over Bluetooth without plugging in the phone. You can actually adjust the volume if you play music though bluetooth instead of CarPlay. Try it out.

I do know when u hook up with CarPlay it won’t allow u to control vol …… But using Bluetooth to play music allows you to use vol control on iPhone

Why mine don’t shut off when I cut the car off
It sounds like the red wire on your unit is not connected to the ignition/accessory switch wire on your car. Double check the 3 main wires. Yellow wire is 12v constant, red wire is ignition/accessory switch. This red wire 12v power source needs to turn off when you turn off your car. Black wire is grounded to your car. Hope you get this sorted out.

The 3 main wires you need to connect to test the unit to make sure it powers up is to connect black wire to negative. Yellow and red wire to positive on your battery. The unit should power up. If it doesn’t turn on, you should contact the seller or manufacturer to get a replacement. Good luck.
