Now I won’t have to spend 45 minutes explaining my summer anymore 😂
Haaaa
Finally! A video I can show to my coworkers to explain why I’m traveling across the country to Indiana for a weekend.
Thank you! I marched corps in olden times mid 1970's. For all dci members thank you. All eras very hard work. In a great show WE the performers MAKE it look easy. ❤ To all!
Thanks for showing the open class groups DCI. It's not like we exist or anything . . . . . .
I mean, the truth of the situation is that the overwhelming majority of spectators only watch World class. Whether at home or in person.
@@nadivkaspi6211 Yeah, I can see where your coming with that. World Class Drum Corps do get the limelight more than any other type of drum corps, and do connect more with just about anyone who can appreciate the marching arts. HOWEVER, I think that if you are someone who's intention is auditioning for any of those corps in World Class, the Open Class is a great stepping stone for people to get into the whole "DCI experience" and go through life on tour first hand. That (to me) is what people always forget about when they mention Open Class, regardless of what placement they have. When I auditioned for Boston Crusaders this year, I mentioned that I had marched Spartans for 3 years prior to auditioning at Boston. (I marched in 2017, 2018, 2019). Because I had experience at an Open Class corps, that automatically gave me an advantage in the selection process because of my experience marching with them, even if I chose to not march there (which I did do). It just goes to show that Open Class corps CAN help people do DCI even if they don't end up marching in their desired corps. That is why it hurts to see the Open Class neglected in promotional material like this. It's like there's no other option, you "March with the best of the best" or nothing else. I hope that in the future, DCI could look at the Open Class in the same way as the World Class, but as far as anybody is concerned, it will most likely be the same.
They put scvc
They made no differentiation between World Class and Open Class corps, and I saw at least two Open Class corps in the brief shots they showed of a lot of corps---which probably excluded a number of World Class corps.
The one thing holding America together. Thank God for DCI. Happy 4th of July!!!
Welcome to DCI, where you can't watch a single full show on RUclips
@j77 you would think having to donate at least $300 to have the OPTION to buy good finals tickets would cover that
Rip DCI fan network 😔
Hope tour doesn't get cancelled because of the virus haha
It very well might. The virus is still growing exponentially, and the # of NEW people infected every day is still going up. Once the *new* cases per day levels out to a consistent amount (as in, once the # of new cases is the same from day to day), then we'll likely know when we'll have it contained. If that happened today, we'd likely have the virus fully contained by mid to late May. But again, the numbers are still going up, so we'll have to wait and see.
Carolina Crown is canceling their March camp because of it
WGI at Dayton OH was canceled
Honestly they probably will cancel at least some of it
Dci has international members that may not even be able to fly to spring training
Wow those are some cool marching bands! I'm section leader at my high school's marching band (go Knights!). Our show last year was a mashup of Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Take 5.
I love this! Short, sweet, and to the point! Well done!
Thanks, Liana!
Ight lets not cancel it
Amen
me when babylon 😩🥰
Well done
Whats the show with the jester on the bigass stilts
insert another complaint comment about DCI BAD
DCIのvideoを期間限定でフリー視聴させて下さい。stay homeのため。
Slightly off topic but does anyone know the background music
lets not forget the b and c corps of the old days.. you had to work your way up :P
Video can't be played
Can't even play five seconds of an actual drum corps playing. Sad. Ruins an otherwise great video.
Brian Millard I mean, if they just click on the channel they can find plenty of videos
Brian Millard Probably because they’d have to copyright their own video lol
@@tikala1 so true lol
Ima head out . . . .
h
I want the dci of 10 years ago back.
let's take it back further than that. 80s & 90s
@@keemez yo 1993 star of Indiana was great
I agree bro I like the late 90's to the early 2000's to 2009 Dci was great but it took a shift change after this like in 2016 with the bluecoat 1993 Star of Indiana, and 2000-2006 Cavaliers
Bands once copied drum corps. They copied the music, the uniforms and the marching styles. Now drum corps are copying bands and orchestras. Trombones, guitars and singing. That's not drum corps. The commandant's Own is the closest thing to drum corps now. Call them what they are; bands.
Ok boomers! 😂just kidding, I agree completely. I just wanted to post it before one of the kids do.
Why does some of the youth here looks like they already had 3 kids?
DCI is about to cancel with this Corona Virus taking down the WGI Championship
Itll stop before hand
Mr. Mcgee how do you know
It's a long way away and the virus is starting to level out
Mhmm how bout now
Mr. Mcgee damn bro your comment didn’t age well
It irritates me how people don't like change. I mean yes I get it's not how it was back in your day, but time changes, and everything goes along with it. Yes, everything is very very theatrical, but it's supposed to be a production, not a "band performance".
Well let’s talk about that. I don’t know how old you are, but most people who can’t understand why many people hate today’s drum corps, and even call them names like “boomer” and post memes of old men shaking their fists, are usually very young and haven’t experienced much change at all in their lives yet, at least not of this type. They are kidding themselves and are actually acting very foolish if they think they are so different from the older generation, and are so much more open-minded and will handle change better. They will find out soon enough. Nobody likes to have their teenage and young adult memories ripped from them. That’s not easy on anybody, but yes, the older generation could be a little more tactful about how they express their displeasure with all the changes, but the younger generation needs to wake up and realize that they’re not that special and they still have much to learn.
j77 mommy and daddy need to take away their phone and internet privileges 🤣 that will do away with the boomer references!
Insert Blue Devils 2017 ballad "everything must change"
prophesytothewind nobody asked boomer
I'm not saying this is bad at all, but it'd be nice to come to an understanding. I know how much DCI will change through the course of my life and hey I won't forget all I saw when I was younger but I'd feel good. It would still motivate people to want to get there and perform one day.
