My parents had a little cottage at Carolina Beach..nothing fancy...built in 50s..second row...and daddy like Maurice....never wanted a phone in it for the very same reason....enjoy you all sharing your memories
I'm at Holden Beach, been coming here since early 70s. We always went to the Pavilion and the pier. This was when they still had the swing bridge. My dad had a 1965 Impale SS 396. It was a cool beach then and still is now. Even though it's grown some, living here it still has the small quiet beach vibe. Thanks for the stories, really enjoying your channel. I grew up out in the woods close to Rockingham Motor speedway. Big nascar and drag race fans thanks to my dad. A gear head for sure. I really miss them days. 👍👍🏁🏁
I've been coming to the HB since I was 2! My granddad built our house in 1962. Every single thing you described is what we all remember. I'm 63 and still here! Things have changed a bit since then for sure. We always remember the Petty's being around the Pavilion!
This was great. I have been going to Holden Beach all my life too (I'm 57 now). We still have a little place on the mainland. All these pictures bring back great memories of the Pavilion, the pier and other places. You probably remember the water slide that was beside the Pavilion for awhile in the 80's. Holden has changed a lot but still our favorite place.
This is so wonderful for a life-long fan of The Petty's like Myself. To get a glimpse inside y'alls personal lives is truly a gift, and a gift is exactly what I mean, because you brother's don't owe us this, you're gifting it to us & I for one am truly grateful 🙏 Thank you!! #IBleedPettyBlue43
I'm 56 and have been a Petty fan forever! Keep the stories coming, it's great to have stories of the past documented! Here's an idea for a video, the early marketing ideas of the Pettys to raise cash, One in particular I remember was called " Petty Country" where you actually bought a 1 square foot piece of Petty property ! Do you guys remember it? Thank you for taking the time to tell about your memories of growing up. KB
Commented about a photo album of your family the other day. All the old school racing families should do it for us old school racers. Family is the most important part of life. Got a photo of myself standing out side the fence a Petty Enterprises in early seventies at 10 years old or so. It was a Sunday and they where racing somewhere. Crew cab car hauler is in the background, coolest hauler ever, along with the Ford box truck and a dodge box truck, probably Buddy’s hauler. Dodge box truck had those shining sides. Your dad, Richard, and the whole operation was really trend setters for Nascars future. NASCAR owes your family big time. Wish there was still a real Petty team. Life moves on. Maybe the Cars tour? Just sayin.
You guys are doing a great job. I look forward every week to watching your videos. Finally your family is getting their recognition for their large part in the Petty Family history
Your reminiscing brings back & jars memories we all have of special family vacations, trips events & loved ones. What you wouldnt give to be able to relive them..........life marches on.
Another great episode! Thank you for sharing your memories of your family and your times at Holden Beach. One of my favorite places to be, is by water. A nice way to relax. Can’t blame your Dad for not having a phone there all of those years.
Amazing how many people from this area either own property or vacation in Holden Beach, Shallotte and Ocean Isle area. Awesome show guys. Love the memories. My dad was the same as Chief, did everything right handed except for swinging a ball bat and golf club. He did that lefty.
That's my stompin' grounds! We live in Boiling Spring Lakes and drive out to Holden Beach quite often. It's such a peaceful place, far more enjoyable than Wrightsville, Carolina or Kure Beach that are swamped with tourists from April on through Labor Day. Never been to Mama Bravo's, gonna have to give that one a try! Thanks for sharing your stories, they always bring a smile to my face.
Oh my, all the years seeing your Dad on the tv and in pictures I never could see much resemblance between him and Richard. But those awesome pictures you shared of him at the beach, you could definitely see it then. Thank you so much for sharing you memories!
Great video with lots of similar memories of my childhood vacations at Surf City Family Campground. They had a little store where you checked in and adjacent to the store was a little arcade with pinball machines. One summer we discovered one of the machines "King Kool" you could play for FREE. What you needed to do was pick it up on the end were you dropped the quarters in about 3 inches off the ground, drop it, and it would rack up 3 credits. WOW. That was a big deal for a little kid. You couldn't drag me out of there. Apparently, it was loud enough to hear in the store because if the bossman was working he would come and chase us out of there. Thanks for the video and the memories. Keep up the good work
Great to hear story's from the petty family!

Another great episode!
BTW, when I was roadracing I used a place called Barnacle Bill's to repair my leathers. Too funny.
I can’t share your excitement over Mama Bravo’s or the Wings and Fish but the other places were great.
Awesome episode! Enjoyed the beach memories. Hope you get to make some new ones soon!
I'm really liking these personal family stories. Any chance you guys could do a field trip and show us around Level Cross and Randleman?
Thanks Scott! No doubt that’s a good idea!!
There was a Barnacle Bills on Topsail Island. Wonder if they were connected?
Silver Hill Grill rocks! Love Holden.
Shrimp Burgers at Provision Company is the BEST!!!
Your Dad let my Dad borrow your beach house for a weekend back in the 70s they raced together.
Yall still got the lake house on badin

Are you going to be getting more of the Maurice Petty stickers in stock?
