    I'm luckily owner of both cameras (A7C and X100V). I really love Fuji X100 series and I have a sentimental connection to them, since I bought my first X100 camera with only 12 mp. I enjoy using them every time.. But, when I really need to capture the image with highest available details and IQ in any given light condition, then Sony A7C's full frame sensor with amazing dynamic range and low light capabilities are very hard to beat. I use Sonys 40mm F2.5 G and 24 mm f2.8 G primes, when I shoot streets. 24mm for old town districts with small streets and 40mm for metropols with wider streets. Results from A7C with these two very small G quality primes are amazing (almost same size and height like X100V lens with UV protector) Yes, A7C looks kind of soulless and too modern. But the combination of very very sharp ultra small G primes with full frame DR, ISO and a body with IBIS is priceless.. IMHO 5 cents..

    After a two week trip with the Fuji X100V, I sold it for a Sony A7C. I am older, my hands are not as steady, therefore, in-body-image-stabilization, became very important. With the X100V, I needed to shoot above 1/60 sec to guarantee sharp images; with the A7C, I could easily handhold at 1/15 sec with the 40mm F2.5 lens. However, IBIS was not the only reason for selling the X100V, because I could have looked toward the Ricoh GRX3 camera, since it too is a non-interchangeable lens camera, but with IBIS: the reason was the additional benefit of a full-frame sensor. When we are compelled to make a switch (for whatever reason) we are tempted by more features; then sooner or later, we make the leap.

    I have a squarehood on my x100v cuz looks cool, but for compactness+weatherproof I really like the NiSi filter+hood combo. i used that for quite a while, and really like how it's barely bigger than stock, plus i don't have to worry about a cap. just stick it in pocket or bag as is. the shape of the NiSi is very amenable to sticking the camera in a (big) pocket without any hangups or worries. pull it out and shoot. really wish the grip was better, tho. near-minimal grips ala the x-pro3 would be great. don't need a huge grip, just enough to hang on to. as is, x100v is too sleek.

    I started my photography journey with sony and now im back on it after trading my X100V for an a6400 lol. Luckily the X100V is in high demand so I got the guy to throw in a ton of lenses with the a6400 :)

    If you sell the X100V, the money will soon be gone and when regrets set in, getting another X100V will be impossible if you want new and too expensive if you can find a good used.
    I'd kill to be able to buy an X100V, but I won't pay the extra $500 that the rare new bodies are getting over retail.

    Classic Chrome, Across and Nostalgic Negative FTW!

    In the end I want to have both. Liked and subd bro.

    A camera has to inspire me to get me creative to go out. The EM5 mark 3 does that with the 17mm 1.2. Now the G9 is a fantastic camera but there is no inspiration for me to take it when I want to be creative. So it stays for paid jobs.

    X100V isn't compact enough with protective filter on??? Especially if compared with 7C from the get go, with any lens? COME ON !

    • @Tudor_Mateescu
      @Tudor_Mateescu  2 года назад

      It depends on each person. I had x100 original - and that camera was compact and light and easy to carry.
      X100V it's at the limit. Any addition will make it comparable with other options like a7c, X-E4 with pancake lenses etc.

    • @tomislavmiletic_
      @tomislavmiletic_ 2 года назад

      @@Tudor_Mateescu It's still much more compact because of the lens compared to competitors. Granted, Ricoh GR takes the first prize in that regard...

    It makes no sense to say that Sony is better because of the colors if you edit your files in post to black and white. Then if he talk about the full frame IQ but in f1.4 the background is totally black, then again that image could be shot in f2.8 and makes no difference. You choose a FF sensor for certain specs that applies for your work, if not, then is just a last minute purchase.
    Another interesting point about Samyang lenses: if you buy a camera because of its color science or sensor quality but you buy a cheap lens, you lose most of the benefits, that applies too for AF that is not as fast as Sony native lenses.
    A very unique X100V feature is the leaf shutter, that can be very a very creative option to use on weddings with flash or even on photo shoots.
    By the way, the X100V adapter (for the weather sealing) is just 1.5 cm more with the filter on top, so is not that big. He’s using much bigger FF lenses. When he shots the Sony at f2.8, it looks like the X100V at f2.0. Only when he uses f2 or wider on FF is noticeable.

      A7c + vintage/manual prime.. range focus perfection. Drop a 35/2.8 za or similar on there, impeccable AF street setup.

      The OP is talking absolute hogwash. If any camera has the title of 'king', which is a dumb thing to say anyway, it is Leica. But you can shoot street with any camera and there are many, many thousands who do so with a Sony. Saying "you never saw anyone shooting streets with a Sony" just shows your ignorance. Drop the Fuji fanboy nonsense and educate yourself. Go look up some well known street photographers (no, not the ones on RUclips). This kind of narrow-minded attitude will not serve your creativity well.
