- Today we're pitting the Sony A7CII vs the Leica Q2 vs The Fuji X100V in a photography battle in Louisville Kentucky. These are three of the most popular compact cameras, so we figured we'd put them each to the test in a head-to-head photography competition.

Just so good old high quality content right here. Keep up the good work!!!
Such a fun time! Love how you put this all together!
Way too much fun! Thanks man!
An update video with the a7cii (maybe even the R variant) vs Q3 vs x100vi would be so cool!
I’ve got an order in for the x100vi for that purpose!
@@kylemeshna awesome! Excited to see your content and perspective on it! I’ve got it on preorder too
My first dedicated camera was a Canon PowerShot G9X II and I recently pulled it back out to take with me more often. Made me happy to see Kelsey pull out a G7!
Love it!
This turned out so fun!! Mad props for the video game effects. Glad I could be a wild card foe ahahaha.
haha the new challenger part was my favorite
Great Video!!
B fo sho. Those colors! 🤩
Really enjoyed this video. While I’m not likely to consider the Q2 I already have an A7CII and A7CR as my smaller travel cameras and also looking at the new X100VI just announced. Admit I value the interchangeable lens feature of the Sony and the capability of their other camera bodies like the A1 and A7RV I own. I’ve become a subscriber now. Thank you and take care.
Very much appreciated! Sounds like you’ve got quite the lineup as well
do you also own shares in sony company? sorry its a bad joke, really nice collection of cameras you got
@@vipersrt30 No I do not own shares in Sony and I never owned shares in Canon when I shot them for 20 years nor Nikon and Pentax when I owned their film cameras.
Wow...that was a great side-by-side. Camera B was my pick, but I had no idea it was the Leica. That's awesome! Leica does have that something something!
Side by side makes it quite a bit more noticeable huh
@@kylemeshna In a class above the rest. Like watching movies on a Pioneer Kuro plasma from Japan next to the other plasma and lcd tvs back in the day.
brutal video.
Liked most of the images from A, B & C - I see 3 photographers have fun - each with their own shooting style & preference.
Love that outlook!
I would pick B.
there is just something to it. seems more vibrant/contrasty, like the photo is popping out/3D feel
That sumilux lens really showing where it shines
@@kylemeshnaif i had to guess, its probably the leica
Correct!
A7CII and A7CR for me. They have the best combination of all the things I want in a camera.
I like camera A! And B, also C. I’m not helping.
Very very good video!!!!!!!! Highly underrated! Hello from Ukraine
I have two of these three cameras, so I’m going to be embarrassed if it blow it. But I think A is Fuji - film recipe is too apparent and looks like JPG resolution , B is Sony I think because the skin tones and the best image contrast with the low light conditions, C is Leica cuz it’s the Leica look. Ranking C then B then A as my favorites.🤞
all together :-)
Bokeh on the Leica is the most beautiful, but I do love the a7CII’s IQ and the 40mm perspective overall more.
Would love to see a rematch with Leica Q3 and Fujio X100VI and please, this time use a less bloomy recipe on the Fuji
Got both with me on a shoot this weekend
1. Camera B - I guess Leica
2. Camera A - I guess Fuji
3. Camera C - I guess Sony
Nice video :D I wonder why the Fuji looks so milky? Just because of the filter I guess?
Very well done. The Fuji is milky due to the filter and because Andrew was shooting with a film emulation recipe in jpg only, so there was no post processing done either. But generally I think the Sony (and Leica lens especially) have much better contrast rendering
All are gorgeous. Great job gents. But if I had to choose, I’d say B, which, were I a betting man, I’d say is the Leica.
I prefer the contrast and colors. I also love 24mm for portraits. (Yes, I know it’s marketed as 28, but it runs wide.)
The 40mm compression and the recipe give the others away.
Correct all around. Yeah the Q2 is definitely closer to 24-26 than 28 in actuality. But seeing them all side by side like this really makes you understand the whole “Leica look” thing doesn’t it haha
@@kylemeshna I like B too. I thought it was Sony. Interesting!
It is pretty obvious based on the color and iso performance. it is x100, q2 and a7c2...
Jpgs out of camera? Also, can you control shutter on this Canon while using flash? I might want. This was fun, good stuff!
Yes Andrew was shooting in jpg with a film recipe on the Fuji.
And yes you’re able to use manual settings on the canon!
@@kylemeshna Would love to see those flash shots at 1/8!
Doesn’t the Fuji X100V also have a flash built in?
@@stevenwaldstein2249 I'm looking for something that's smaller/more pocketable - the Canon is 2/3 the size of the Fuji. Cheaper and actually available would be plusses! I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for, needs a viewfinder, but I'll know it when I see it. But in those shots 3:09 I'd want to drag the shutter and shoot at something much slower, to let the background build up and add to the foreground that's going to be be lit and frozen with the flash.
B looks better to me. I hope there was no editing though.
It looks more contrasty and sharper. It looks like you can zoom in and see all the details on the bricks and on the coat.
B is the Leica. It has the highest megapixel, and the sumilux lens definitely has the best rendering and sharpness as well
C for me - for photography there is little between them these days, would be interesting to see a videography battle, I suspect the Sony would crush that one...
Sony would definitely crush in that case. The other two barely do video haha
B. Leica 😅
Any particular reason why you choose B?
@@kylemeshna yes the resolution. I am a huge Leica fan. Actually i'm waiting for my q3 to get delivered
1. C
2. B
3. A
Some guy 5:10 just join. hahaha i am going to team chris!
Camera B
Can I have all of them please
yes.
Who's "Chis"
Also, A - Fuji, B - Leica, C - Sony
You can tell the Fuji because the depth of field isn't as shallow as the others, nor is the bokeh as large. The Leica has that 28mm look and the Sony is composed tighter because it has the 40mm/f2.5.
In order of preference...
#1 - B - well-composed, well-lit, love the 28mm look, superb photographer behind the camera. Need I say more?
#2 - C - like the 40mm on the Sony, great lighting and resolution. The tighter shots are a nice difference between the other two.
#3 - A - eyes under lit when standing in front of the palace theater. Kind of muddies up the whites of her eyes compared to the other two. Also lots of noise/loss of detail on the palace theater sign behind her. It pains me to see that as a Fuji fanboy. There's significantly less contrast that's noticeable in the alleyway shots too, but that's probably the mist filter throwing everything off.
How'd I do?
B
Any guesses which that is?
Leica all day
it does have quite the look to it eh
Camera A
nice! Any particular reason?
The leica... ahem... camera B has the most resolution but I just loved the look and colors on camera A. Actually C is a close second and if that is a Sony then it is very good value for its price. It would probably be a better test, and a win for the Leica, if one person took all the same photos with the same composition using the 3 different cameras.
A - fuji B - leica C - sony :) 🤓
