- Let's unbox the RadioMaster Zorro! This latest gamepad-style RC transmitter is surprisingly well built and has a lot of things going for it. I compare it against the popular FrSky X-Lite Pro, and give my first impressions as an RC glider / DLG pilot.

@@ArmSoar FYI, I have SoarOTX running on the Zorro under OTX 2.3.15N637, so I think this radio is going to be a winner!
I use the built-in antenna on the X-Lite Pro so it is smaller for me :). I like the extra buttons on the back of the Zorro and the more prominent buttons on top for DLG use. The smaller buttons on the X-Lite Pro though still work for my bigger hands. The mounting holes for mounting your own accessories is brilliant. I hope more manufacturers and future radios think along those lines. The bigger display is a nice feature. The trims might make a sound on the X20 but they will not accidentally get pushed just by shaking the transmitter (It almost sounded it could be interpreted that way when you were explaining it). I really like the trims on the X20. They stick out and are easy to find and the clicks sound and feel good too. That the trims can slightly make a sound when shaking the radio isn't an issue at all to me. They look nice and function well. The metal gimbals would keep me using the X-Lite Pro. They feel very solid on the X-Lite Pro. Other features on the Zorro though are tempting. It will be interesting to see the battery life. The dual batteries on the X-Lite Pro last a long time (I am using the bigger battery option).
FrSky is already working on a newer X-Lite type radio though with Ethos so I will likely end up going with that as I really like the Ethos programming and being able to share models with my X20S as well as the ACCESS protocol enhancements of sharing/moving receivers between radios (without physically needing to touch the receivers).
I’m looking forward to FrSky’s rumoured gamepad EthOS radio.
i just bought the xlite pro for my sailboats and love it, will try the bam2 and deviant when the weather is better
The X-Lite Pro is an awesome radio! One of the best for DLG flying :)

Nice to see a different perspective from other unboxing videos. Lots of good points make.
Other unboxing noted a number of power options. External battery, fast USB3 charging, etc. (as well as battery swap)
Since ExpressLRS Rx's include telemetry functionality already, adding a baro sensor to provide altitude and rate of climb/decent shouldn't be too big a leap technically.
hi do u know rodiomaster zorro 4 in1 and bind with flysky fli 14+ receiver what distance can get ?
and how about bind with radiomaster R81 receiver ?
You can already get up to 10 channels with the Matek CRSF-PWM boards and any ELRS receiver.

Well done. What caught my eye was the T-antenna on the X-lite. I have one on a very slow boat from China intended for the external 4in1 module of the X-lite. Does it perform better than the internal antenna? Thanks.
My testing shows it to be very similar, but I use it as I think it should be better being away from all the electronics.

What wind indicator are you using on the x20?
It’s just a fibreglass rod.
