In this DCS: AH-64D video, we’ll explore the defensive systems that will be available at launch. These will include the Aircraft Survivability Equipment, or pronounced “ACE”, that consists of the wire strike protection system, the AN/APR-39A(V)4 radar signal detection set, and the Common Missile Warning System, pronounced “C Moss”.
Combined, they work to detect, warn, and provide countermeasure options against both radar-guided and infrared-guided threats.
Later in early access we will add the AN/AVR-2A laser signal detecting set, the AN/ALQ-136 electronic radar jammer, and the AN/APR-48A Radio Frequency Interferometer.
Everyone is talking about the Intro... the Outro had me rolling... Some of the best jump scares I've ever had is from playing DCS. This should be classified as a SIM / Horror Game haha!
DCS is a horror game first, flight sim second.
Psychological horror to be more specific
ahahahaAHAHAHHAHAhh SO FUNNY
I'm guessing the Intro was a freezeframe of the outro. RIP Wags.
Love the intro, I couldn't be more hyped for this thing. It's giving me Jane's Longbow vibes
hell yeah, it does!
Loved the ending too
FACTS !
i hope they will have jane longbow missions converted over to dcs..
enemy engaged was fun .
that has to be the best intro to counter measures i have ever seen
The "Oh shi..." had me laughing at the end.
Wags, I am just stunned at the progress Eagle Dynamics has made ever since a friend showed me his “A-10C simulator” almost 12 years ago.
@@OfficialUSKRprogram I remember playing on the multiplayer servers back then with everyone flying either the A-10 or F-15. It's so cool loading into a server and seeing all of the different types now!
Been watching these types of videos since 2016, and that is the best intro I’ve seen yet.
You're just knocking it out of the park. But - please don't overwork yourselves! Or at the very least, have one hell of a party once this thing is released, please!
Nice to see it with the FCR, I know that is after release, but to me; such an iconic visual.
Saw your mission alongside others, Casmo et al, nice hovering, I would really like to see more of that from you guys, great stuff!
The dome is coming with release, just the working of it will be later as I understand it.
@@dannyd7714 You're correct, at release we should have the option to have the dome or not, but the functionality will only come later.
Iconic? The Apache flew for about 2 decades without it. haha
@@ImpendingJoker YES, iconic, the Apache AH-64D is widely recognised for the AN/APG-78.
You know,... the Longbow.
Production quality on these is fantastic now
It has been since the days of Flanker
After your flight with Casmo (and all the AA shot in your direction), I'd have to say, no, I know exactly how you got in that situation :)
Nice throwback intro ! 10 points for creativity
Wags, you are such a tease! I'm so excited to try this bird out. One question: If we run out of chaff are we able to open the door and throw out the foil wrappers our emergency MREs came in?
multicore please wags!
Talk about manual chaff dispersal
This is why the hind has a fan. To chop the packs into smaller bits before you throw em.
@@Freeflyer91 well.... a hind isn't technically the same type of helicopter. It's more of an armored weaponized troop transport like a Blackhawk than an Apache
@@saltyfloridaman7163 An Apache D model can carry at least 4 troops if they hang on tight, and aren't too fat.
It seems like the team is really getting comfortable making these video. They just keep getting better and better. It's nice to see people comfortable in their skin and using humor. Keep it up, it's top notch.
Maybe I'm just new but it seems lately that Wags is having more fun making these videos. Really excited to try this aircraft out!
Impressive module. The fidelity is by far the most advanced ED has ever implemented on any of their module. Just trying to imagine what the Apache would be like if she is feature complete.
Lots of time will be spent learning this aircraft. ED has obviously outdone themselves in the implementation of this module.
My salute to the everyone involved in the making this module.
I almost feel like I need to attend a few weeks' worth of classroom instruction prior to even starting to load this mod up. this is a GOOD thing. a Very Good thing.
Come on man, this has GOT to be one of the best intro's ever!
Excellent video! Loved the opening and the ending. The middle part was nice and informative, but the other parts made me chuckle. 😁
The into and ending was epic, i'm so hyped for this.
That ending though!! 🤣😂
Best video tutorial yet!
That intro...EPIC! The Outro through... had me in stitches!!
As a fixed wing guy I can tell you that any altitude above 100ft should be avoided if you go low unless you need to avoid power lines, trees, houses, garbage cans and infantry :P
I am seriously looking forward to the Apache. The Ka-50 is fun, but the Apache will be awesome. Thanks for your videos, I really appreciate them!
From doing combat runs in the huey and later the hind:
If the tree tops aint higher than your rotor hub, you'll never be safe!
Doesnt help that those heli's need actual attack runs too ;)
Absolutely perfect intro 😂
Finally an ending I can relate to!
The crash one was pretty relatable to me 😂
the music in the beginning.....it just made it my favorite ED video ever.
We're getting closer to release! (AND THAT INTRO IS AMAZING HAHAH)
that was the best ED intro I've ever seen...I'm also disappointed that the ALE-47 passed the BIT on the first test, it usually takes 2 or 3 tries, some swearing, and some praying
Ha! This is one of your best videos yet!
Thank you for the intro and the humor as well!
Lets go!!! Cant wait to get my hands on this. Keep up the great videos! Awesome intro too!
That emblem on the exhaust is my unit! Awesome to see the Air Pirates represented!
They have my old unit too, the old Cav Patch in the EFAB
@@salamiflavoredspider hell yeah! I’m excited for this to be a part of the Apache community.
I wonder why the CMWS voice alerts uses the NATO/DoD designation for the Tor, ("SA-15") but refers to the Tunguska by the native name for the actual vehicle ("2S6"), despite '19' being displayed.
Thanks for the video Wags ! The end was just priceless 😁👍. There is some kind of release smell in the air 🤤😇
Amazing work guys! I'm so excited to see this module roll out, but please take your time. I loved the intro and the outro haha. One more thing: can you guys make the AI CPG move his head randomly during flight, like Jester does in the F-14? Thanks!
Wags - so pleased for you and the team - this is going to be awesome - personally for me 30 years in the wait like many of us. I really look forward to bringing some content on this beauty. x
LOL!!! "Chaff out.....oh sh#t!" Wags, thanks for putting so much time and effort into all these videos. I know I speak on behalf of many who are patient enough to wait for a quality product, - it's probably not even overstating that this will be a new benchmark module for the sim!
Love it Wags! Intro and ending hit all the feels.
Love the production of this one, we all need a little big of comic relief these days
Best ending ever. Wags so much “one of us”
Baba O'Wags. Love the rotor blade animation; it's looking slick, along with the interior, vibrating panels. Wags summed up many a virtual pilot's last words on a DCS sortie.
Awesome cultural reference with the intro! I’m not alone in my anticipation of this Module. I’m dreading the learning that’s going to have to take place, but it’s going to be a labour of love.
Your voice makes me think of the missile that knows where it is because it knows where it isn't.
thumbs up just for the song at the beginning ! great vid, great ending, great module, great host.... just great !
"Coming No Later than 31 March 2022". March will be the LONGEST damn month ever.
The opening alone is worth the video.
We cannot wait another day for the AH-64 in beta. Hilarious intro by the way!
Not only is Wags a genius in knowledge, but watch his actual flying skills. So smooth, coordinated and fluid. Is there no end to this man's skill? lol I think not! When I take off in the Apache I am like a new born colt on shaky legs. 10 seconds into the air I am getting SAS SATURATED messages because the computer can't trim fast enough to compensate for my jerky ass flying.
really loved the start of the video great touch
Just love the confidence in his voice when speaking about how easy it is to avoid/evade incoming missile threats when flying over rolling terrain...then he gets shot down by one lol.
Haha! Nice one 👍🏻
Excellent vid and as always, very educational. Need to watch them all over again once she's released 🙂
Oh my god i am so ready for this. I need it, i want it, i am like a child on christmas eve. Best thing is i already know it will be great because Eagle dynamics
Oh boy, we really could use the data cartridge implementation with all these personal choice items. Not just for the Apache but everything. I know it was mentioned a while back in some newsletters but nothing heard of late. Any update on timescales?
Love the Jane‘s vibes so much. Thank you!
That intro was priceless. So was the ending. Thanks for the new vid.
Another way for a start: At this moment, he knew he just fu.... up! 🕹🤪🕹
I see these vids are getting more and more cinematic every time... ;) please keep it up! :)
LOVED the intro. Now to go watch the rest.
Love DCS, cant wait to use it again once the dynamic campaign comes out.
haha best intro and outtro i've seen to a DCS vid yet
No worries for me. I’ll still be learning to fly this beast by the time the next updates come.
What a great beginning and ending :D
The intro though🔥🔥🔥. LOVING THE VIDS AND I CANT WAIT. WELL DONE ED AND WAGS
That intro is absolute gold. The Wags we love
Wonderfull intro! Thx for the work and dedication on this awesome videos! Could it be that we will fly the Ah64 on this weekend. ;)
Hopeful, but I doubt it :/
@@joshuagarcia874 Let us all dream a little bit. ;) Fly save.
@@joshuagarcia874 It is here and it is awesome! :)
Awesome intro wags, thank you for the tutorials 🤣
awesome stuff Matt especially the ending nice one !!!!!
Wags has got a sense of humor! Thank you good, Sir!
RIP. You are always loved and never forgotten. And we will see you someday again in the clouds.
Nice to see the Apache both with and without the radar. Will we be able to ask the ground crew to add / remove it (like the jf-17 fuel probe for example) or we will have 2 apache (with and without radar) to choose from while building a mission in the editor?
I dont think it will be 2 apaches, maybe the option with the ground crew or load from the rearming window
haha, great intro. You can tell Wags is really having fun with this module.
Nice. A noticed Casmo's CMWS bitching about "missile launch", when You were engaging targets with Hellfires in that mission You posted a few days ago. Great stuff. And ofc the ending XD
That intro made me laugh so hard. Love you Wags!!!
Best wags intro of all time.
The Defense Department regrets to inform you..... Lol! Great intro and outtro Wags, looking forward to getting hands on with the Apache!
Love the intro Wags!
Everybody talking about the intro, but the ending made me laugh. So excited for this module
Real world Wags, at least his human, laughed my head off at the bit at the end.. good one looking fwd to this bird.
That intro is awesome dude!
I loved the ending if this video, as it happens to us all. As there's always one that gets through 🙂🙃👍
Wags has taken the dark path of becoming a meme lord.
Great video again Master Matt!
Great intro :D (pls more vids with Casmo)
Lovely intro and ending :)
😂🤣 “ o shit” 🤣😂, then cuts out, that made my night, love your vids brother.
😂 intro was great. Really enjoyed the video. Probably the most "fun" out of the apache videos.
Q: even with being fun, it was also pretty informative on how to function the countermeasures. Is there an additional resource for _when_ you would use countermeasures, and which (flare vs chaff) for which scenario? I'd have thought you would use them when the missiles were much closer.
Love it! Good job Matt :)
Amazing intro.
The most beautiful vehicle in history.
"I will always remember...The Girl Nextdoor." ;)
Great video explanation there Wags. Casmo's mission footage confused me, as I wasn't aware that CMWS was able to talk to you - I thought you had triggered radio communications or something in the mission itself.
I'm torn, honestly. I'm not a rotorhead, so I probably won't use the Apache as much as it probably deserves. However seeing what it can do, and it's complexity...I almost want to get it just for the challenge.
10/10 for the meme intro alone Wags!
I was waiting for that ending
Hahaha loooooove the intro !!
Such a masterclass !
So the thing I gathered from this is that if your wingman randomly starts dumping flares there's a 50/50 chance that it was because of your own flight's hellfire launches.
It's the CMWS in auto mode.
Wading thru’ the Alphabet soup manual and making a list if acronyms, what a lot to remember AND we might be shot at, Hilarious reminder about what happens when your “busy enjoying yourself” Can’t wait.
Nice choice of the opening theme. :)
That intro though hahah, man good taste in music I must say :P
Could we see more intro like theses? That one was amazing !
I love that movie. Watched it a hundred times. :)
What is this from (the intro), its been racking my brain for ages!!
@@chrisjames7557 Almost Famous
Great ending and teaser on
Syria
DEMONETIZED! LOL! Classic ending! thanks for all you do!
Wags as always your spot on man
Man this thing has some sweeet tech in it. Cant wait to duel some KA-50's
Missed opertunity to show off the damage model ;)
Jokes aside great vid. Looking forward to learning the systems
