A couple tips (that you didn’t ask for haha😂). You’d want to have the EICAS up on the center MFD and have the master caution and all WCAs acknowledged. That way when a new warning caution or advisory comes on it would flash and you’d see it on the center MFD. Also an SOP thing would be to let the slower aircraft fly ahead of you . We would typically fly at either 10-20’ or >1500-3000’.
Tips are always welcome. I do these videos to learn new things so bring them on. We did speak about them being in front before we departed to help with speed like you say but they wanted to go behind cos they were escorting me and wanted to keep an eye on me. The master warning makes sense. Even when I got hit my only warning that I’d lost an engine was that the torque level had dropped. If I’d cleared the warnings I’d have known right away. Haven’t had a full play with the systems on this badboy yet. Need to learn that for the next flight. So I was right in the altitude range you would never fly at?! @@rossy_gee yes the altitude depends a lot on the threat. So if it’s small arms and 12.7mm then either really low or high out of range is fine. Where as high may not be great for SAMs.. DCS needs to fix the issue with pitch and trim. The chinook is really easy to fly but they don’t have LCTs working (you can see them on the EIcAS page) working LCTs would make a huge difference in the pitch angle.

It’ll get there faster with us all beta testing it for them. Without ‘bob’ I have a lot of trouble just keeping it in level flight. Take offs and landings are the easy bit 😂 The opposite to all the other aircraft.
On your center MFD, in the white advisories section, there's 3 warnings there that are easy to fix. 1) your parking brakes are on. The other 2 can be fixed by going into IDX (T4), POWER (L1), and turning on EGI1 (L1) and EGI2 (R1). The other yellow warnings have been resolved in recent patches.
Part of the reason the Chinny is so much harder than the apache to finesse at the minute is because it's missing some features the real world aircraft has. A twin rotor aircraft like that has some.... strange handling characteristics, and the aircraft, in the real world, has a bunch of features to counter the weirdness and stabilize it. That includes the DAFCS (digital automatic flight control system) which is basically fly by wire, LCTs, which are actuators which trim the rotors in the pitch axis automatically. You're also missing the DASH, which basically adjusts as you change speed, meaning you can maintain you're speed with a more neutral stick and pitch position. Currently this is all missing, so it makes the aircraft much more of a handful to fly. (There may be other stuff missing too, but this is the obvious stuff)
As in ‘bob’? I only found out about it afterwards. A lot of it was edited out but I was cursing it. Was all over the place. Every time I wanted to slow down I’d pitch up, drop the collective to the floor and it would climb. So much trouble keeping it slow enough for the others to keep up and maintain an altitude. I’m gonna give it a go tonight with bob on.

The master caution you get constantly is a fuel bug, fuel quantity fail (or something similar). It comes and goes while flying.
Yeah I seem to be able to clear it then it returns. It’s early access. I’m sure it’ll be a lot further along on the next update.
