Hey man, quick question. How on the installation manual was mentioned to disconnect the negative battery, but i dont see the point of disconnecting that?
Generally no need to disconnect the battery when changing out anything which involves low current or anything which is switched. That means it has no live wires going to it when switched off. In this installation he is disconnecting bolts that are attached to the chassis, maybe it has an effect on how the car is grounded?
You have nothing to worry about, don’t disconnect the battery. Think about it: you would have to take the positive wire from any circuit you can reach, and short out to ground somewhere on the vehicle. I’m pretty sure this instal doesn’t touch any wires so you’re okay.
Just bought one of theses for my st in the manual it says disconnect the negative connection on the battery but dosnt mention it in the video is this necessary?.also in the manual its says use loctite on all bolts is that also necessary any help appreciated cheers
Looking at this video you used a different bolt to go through (black) the mount than u took out (silver), if it’s like the mk2 ficus there different sizes silver is shorter and if you use the wrong one it can puncure the steering rack
Sorry for the n00b question: What's the cause of the crackles coming from the exhaust? What about the black smoke? Appreciate the video. I got my mount today from you guys and can't wait to put it on. Still blown away at how massive the level of community support is for the FoST. No other car community I've been a part of has the size, dedication, and quality that the FoST has. Blown away.
Not an ST owner (but im installing the stage 2 cp-e RMM on my 2.0 fusion its the same process lol) The crackles are from unburnt fuel burning in the exhaust (so just pops) And the black smoke is dirt from the ground mixed with the soot from the unburn fuel its pretty common with catless downpipes which is why cars (especially catless ones) have black exhaust tips and are typically a lot more thick layers then regular cars, just from the unburnt fuel burning in the exhaust pipe causing that build up
You installed the washers incorrectly but this video helped for installing the rmm. Thanks
Hi . Would fitting this stop the engine/gearbox rocking back and forth in low gear ? Thanx in advance .
Do you have to re install the bracket? My mechanic didn’t

So the silver bolt should’ve been used on the underside instead of the black?

Doesnt the lock washer go against the nut and the star washer against the bracket?
Yes. He made a mistake in the video

Ken Cavallo I had to check the comments to make sure I wasn't the only one who noticed that!
would you recommend this for a first upgrade? It does say stage 2 so I am concerned on buying it for my first part.
BradTechLee get it! This is 2 piece instead one piece. Much better setup.
I waited did with downpipe n exhaust work.
Nice install video. About time one was done on CPE can't wait to get this!
Btw what's the exhaust on the red ST?
It had an Injen exhaust on it when we shot that.
Could this be installed on a ST Diesel? or is it different down there?
Roberto Tullii what’s the hp and torque on the st diesel? Don’t see those in the states.

The directions say 85 ft/lb
That bracket was a B to take off
That was a pain in the butt. Don’t put the front tires on ramps. Let them hang loose on jack stands
why?
