£550 / $600 and virtualy identical performance to the original X01 - what's not to like?! OK still a lot of cash, but wireless shifting is neat, reliable and super easy to install. I like it a lot. Hey Rob, great vid - again! This is a great development due to the price. But what I really want to say is, “YOUR STUDIO BUILD HAS REALLY WORKED OUT 💪 “ Great job man!🌈
Kewl technology; but, I truly like the tactile feel of a cable shifter. Had already passed on AXS when I purchased my latest bike. Also remember back to a time when I killed two derailleur mechs in a weekend...one on a rocky technical section and the other on a pinecone doing a downhill. Guessing with the GX AXS system that those two incidents would cost something like $1,000 for derailleur replacements. Not a dentist, doctor or lawyer here...LOL. Your video productions are certainly outstanding...Great work Rob!
Good to see your back on form Rob with product reviews and new bike testing. New studio is kickin. Hopefully loads more in the pipeline. Hope your looking after the bike pilot too old Jonny boy 😆
Great to see the price point drop. However, tidying up handle bar furniture and cable routing aside I have never had an issue with shifting. Simple to maintain and replace when needed. What I have had is rear mech damage, despite the sacrificial mech mount! Bent mech from rock strikes is a feature of serious MTB as they are in a really vulnerable position. KISS principle. Just my opinion.
You should have left the Shimano cassette, chain, and chainring on! I've been running AXS with XTR bits on both my bikes for almost a year. It shifts perfectly and still have all the benefits of HG+ which is better than Sram.
Thanks Rob, good video as always. I personally would like to see this around the £350 mark. Maybe in time, the price will drop. I remember when dropper posts were all the money. Now every good bike has one.

Still waiting to see which ebike mfg will add integration directly into the bike's battery. Why have up to four separate batteries? (Yes it would add a wire, but that can be tightly integrated versus the routes standard cables need).
Ok...I've got $$$. I'm using a wired X01 shifter and all steel NX cassette/derailleur on my Trek Rail. I bent/twisted two 12 spd XTs rear mechs in two months, so far. Sram eagle seems far more robust so far. As an old XT/XTR guy I think eagle is the way to E-mtb! What's your view 7 months later?😇

This is great but where can you actually buy them from I've looked on chain reaction cycles, wiggle all the usual online retailers and cannot even find the upgrade kit listed
Still the cost of an Iphone for something that shifts gears, seems like a lot for something that costs about 80 bucks to make. because a model rc car has much more in the way of circuitry and parts and those start around that price.
Exactly. Emtb bikes - and bikes in general - are getting ridiculous. A shifter is a simple mechanism, who's been around for decades. The whole thing is big swindle
@@RobRidesEMTB This is not breakthrough tech. Its an xbox controller with 2 buttons instead of an array of toggles and switches.
