In this video I am going to show you how you can re-create a corrupted profile in Windows 10. Profile keys can be found here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Note: Be careful working with registry. Deleting an incorrect key can lead to unusable OS.
Definitely choose this video. Because I watched many videos about this issue. But, they did not work, because they gave incomplete information. Thank you very much

Gave me the right idea to solve my problem
Thanks mate
The local Admin account was corrupt I booted into Safe Mode went to this Registry setting and deleted the folder that corresponded with the local Admin account , restarted and was able to log in. There was an update waiting for itThis video worked for me, Thank You!
I created another local Admin account to be able to do all this I'd like to add that I took another "Default" user profile from another working machine and after backing up the original one (rename to Default.BAK) I copied the folder over to the affected machine. Then with the newly created local Admin account I ran all windows updates this also disabled the built in Local Administrator account (Good thing I created the backup Local Admin) as I was off the Domain. After logging into the newly created Local Admin and updates I restarted and Re-enabled the Local Administrator then I was able to log in. I hope this all makes sense
Very big help. Thanks!
Great tutorial my dude. Ran into a corrupted profile issue at work for the first time. This was seamless.
Thankfully the dude only had the computer for a week so not much info had to be copied over.

Well done with lots of good humor, too! One of the good guys! I might try this! Meantime, I am just using the Visitor profile and have backed up all my data using the temp profile that keeps getting remade ...
Thanks man, that helped me resolved an issue I had with a domain user's PC. 100% fix!!
thanks for the video...
Great Great Video, thank you!
Dear Nick, when I have created a new user profile and am copying files from the users account, you said do not copy and paste all of the files and folders as they maybe corrupt.
How can I know which files and folders to copy then to avoid having the same error?
Thanks in advance.
ITS REALLY WORKED LOL THANK YOU DUDE
Thanks man!
Very correct info
THANK YOU!! ✌
You got a new subscriber Nick
Bro thanks a lot 👍👍 Just a question should I delete the .old profile folder and temp profiles folders which were created in users folder ?
I tried to delete the .old profile folder but not allowed. Any suggestions on how to delete the folder?
Thank you
Really helpful tutorial man. Was hoping you'd bring in settings transfer also with changing UID, as I need to copy from an old, dead OS to a new one and we need the whole profile setup with settings also. Got any tips there? Please?
Done it before, but can't remember the finer final steps.
It is useful video to repair the corrupt user profile accidently
I assume that this can also be done with the admin's account?
Hi Nick,
What about the registry key you exported to desktop. New profile don't need that again?
It was taken for safer side.
7:40 I would expect that no manual copy is needed and all data is copied from network drive path from the server where the data is stored securely?
thanks
helpful. Thank - Nick, the best performer LOL
Hello , if you wrongly deleted some files on the profile list; what it will happen ? Do I need to reinstall my windows?
What happens to the user's installed apps, browser favorites, etc? Will they be automatically transferred over to the new profile too?
No.
Was J. Thompson a local profile or a domain account? And when you deleted her registry key, how did that not also delete her login information?
when i tried opening it, it said threat found and wouldnt let me open
I have one thing to ask, so my vpn is also missing after creating the new work profile. Anyway that can be restored?
How did you get "Other user" on the login screen? Have MS removed that feature now?
Hi Colin, nope this is not a feature and it is still there. Other user option will be available if you have multiple local users, or a domain-joined computer.
Hi NLB, looks like it might only be available in the Pro edition of win 10 but you can still create the account by logging in as an admin user and creating the account that way. Thanks for the useful video.
I wonder where the dialect it is. Pretty hard to understand it. I wish I were a bilingual...
Anyway, it was really helpful to me. I appreciate and God Bless You !
lol wut
I turned on closed captioning.
lifesaver
When I would follow the steps I would not loose any data but settings/registry values etc. I don't know. How to keep them?
That's honestly a lot of stuff to do just for me to get one program (NMM) to work properly tbh.
But I'm clueless on what other solution I have just to make NMM work.
The program NMM works on all other profiles in the computer but not with mine which I find strange.
I wonder if I can copy-paste all of my settings from the original profile instead having to tinker with a lot of settings again (eg. wallpaper, etc.).
Hi Furryhusky1000, are all the profiles normal user or administrator profiles? Copy-pasting all of the settings will not guarantee that everything will work as supposed to. Applications usually are installed on per computer basis and not user profiles.
Yes, all profiles are administrator profiles.
I just couldn't figure out why the program doesn't work specifically on my profile but on other profiles it work.
I have posted a bug report about said program last week and I still don't have any help from them.
Also, the reason I think I have a corrupted profile because I've been searching problems related with KernelBase.dll and most search results kept giving me about corrupted profiles.
If you also want to see the error logs via my event viewer so you could have more idea what's wrong, I have a forum post on their site for that.
forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5729772-nmm-suddenly-stopped-working-and-unable-to-launch/
EDIT: To be honest, I don't think KernelBase.dll and .NET Framework is the problem as NMM works on other profiles (but still not on mine and I'm very confused) because I've done sfc /scannow and also tried repairing .NET Framework. I have also tried checking the disk, didn't gave me any errors.
I had to use Ms media repair because of bsod loop and now have fresh install. I see windows old.old, but want to recover my data. Is there a way to do that. I am going to try this for allmy files that were on desktop or can you refer a good data restore program, Help thanks
Awesome stuff Nick. Hope you had 3 times salary increase by now lol
So I how do you remember the profile path in windows ? for the registry.
Why do you need to explain the whole story of the manager ! 🤣
I guess to prove that not all computer types aren't humorless geeks
After doing so, the best way that I know of to check whether or not I'm still in a temporary profile is to go settings and click "sync your settings". Before, it said that something along the lines of "cannot sync settings; logged into temporary profile", but now, when I click that button, the entire settings window becomes unresponsive, except for the close button.
Does this mean, at the very least, I managed to get into my actual account and the computer is just trying really hard to sync? I might even decide to just create a local account, but first, I still need to know whether or not I have "escaped" the temp profile, at least.
The Q q
@@johndoe5867 Oh, that computer died already, so thanks for nothing.
Can we copy user settings?
I tried all of this, and my user profile continues to be corrupted and new TEMP profiles keep getting created. What am I doing wrong?
Ever find a solution?
Yo u could reay do with some help, my profiles corrupted and I can't get into my laptop because its the only profile
SasYT use your admin account.
Yeah so icant rename the folder, that error sound just rings but I get no error, ive tried restarting my pc but that doesnt work, pls help
Make sure the user account you're troubleshooting from has administrator privileges.
someone please help me! when i go into the regedit and in profile list, there is no one of those that have my user profile name. please help
pretty sure nvdia driver update did something to windows. my first reaction when i saw this generic logon using my credentials was WTF! how can i log on and have no files in my cloud folders or on PC etc.? thanks MS!!! SO I shut down, restarted and everything came back. Does this mean i'm ok or will it happen again. In XX continuous years of windows, this has never happened to me. Almost as scary as the "enter bitlocker unlock key" thing also happened recenlty on another pc, also a first.
Nick, I'm not certain why you'd not want to copy almost everything from the old profile into the new profile. Certainly, some things, like the OneDrive folder in your example, wouldn't need to be copied as OneDrive would re-create that for the user. I would think the same would be true of DropBox, etc. Other then things like that, I think anything else could be moved over. I'm not sure how a corrupted file, could corrupt a profile. Perhaps it's possible, but I don't know how that could happen.
I know this is 2 years old, but can I ask if you copy everything from corrupt old profile to fresh new profile? if you can then is it possible the new profile would become corrupt too?
@@seanalgerian377 Not likely. The corruption was inside that old user profile. In the video a new profile is made which is working without issues. Copying the files over to the newly made profile should not corrupt the newly created profile.
How do you do this with your own computer? I was following your steps but I kinda messed it up, because you have yours and Jessie’s.. I only have mine.
How am I supposed to do all that of *I* *CAN'T* *LOG* *IN* ?!?!
Will this delete previously installed software or will this retain all preiously installed software and settings?
Thanks,
same question
I am using the visitor profile but still see that it says the profile I cannot get to is signed in? Uh, what???
How would we know the third key down is her profile? It's all numbers and letters
Yea, it doesn't work. It only says temp.desktop as the only profile i have. And i cant make a new one. Only an e-mail profile. And i want a desktop profil
Hi, you can try to create a mail profile and re-create your local profile using the guide. When you are done you can switch to the local profile. Do not forget to backup your data.
but what if you can not log in any profile?
it doesnt work on me... when i am going to rename it something pops out aannd says error
I currently only have 1 profile on my computer. Can I do all this within my own profile or do I have to create another profile and do all these steps from there?
It did not work, I try deleting the SID in order to recreate the profile and it still comes with " You have been signed with a temporary profile Error"
Can you sign into the old profile after making the new one?
nope ... unless you rename back the new profile to .old and remove the old from original profile.... best pracise never delete the old profile for somreasons
Do i keep my files?
Well I accidentally deleted main account, what do I do then
I’m not given the option to sign in as another user. Why is that?
I also couldn't delete profile. I got to the 6:23 mark of video, and then i get "error deleting key" saying "cannot delete X-X-X (file or key name). Thoughts?
Hi Dan, are you a local / domain administrator on the machine?
yes
shoot, i might have been logged in as another user, let me check and get back to you
Hi Dan, can you check the permissions on the registry key. In some occasions these can get messed up. You can give yourself full permissions and should be able to delete it. Do not forget to export 1st (backup).
Oh, my mistake, i got it!. Thanks for your expertise Nick, it's much appreciated!
What will be taken away when I create a new user profile?
Hi Commander, you will have a new desktop, documents, music, downloads, etc folders.
NLB Solutions thank you
I hope you get your salary after resolving this issue Nick!
Bhai mera admin wala account hi remove ho gaya hai koi solutions do bhai koi bhi bata do
hey by deleting the user account thing all my files is gone why??
You are not supposed to delete the user profile's folder, only its corresponding key on the Registry.
Also make sure to rename the user profile folder in C:\Users to something else before signing in again with that account.
I need help I'm still getting sign in errors
Hi Nick, what are the errors that you see ?
@@NLBSolutions when i reboot my computer its still this please say me how to solve this

IT personnel rule!
Hi Tim, amen to that! :)
HELP, this fix doesn't work, any suggestions?
Windows R netplwiz , then delete the profile which has problem in it , restart computer.. if still doesn't work you Can download delprof2 which has a command Line interface ..put it in windows/system32 and call it from cmd Window..
I thought the intro is a part of solution 🥺
I deleted the original file by mistake what can I do
recover back.... there is many tools
Pain in the *ss yes SIR.
Same steps followup but again new profile creating out profile
This no longer work. Microsoft changed the options in USERS. There's no more change the user or something. This would have been good for me to troubleshoot the Outlook issue.
How am I supposed to do this if I can't even log into my profile?!! That's my issue with all these tutorials
Hi Jay, this is a tutorial for domain joined computers. If you do not have any other local accounts on this computers that you can use, you can try booting in Safe mode or even Windows 10 recovery and try to re-activate the local administrator account from CMD using the command: net user Administrator /active:yes
nick how will my all data come back on desktop
Hi pawan, you will need to manually copy the data from the old profile desktop to the new one.
