Oh Pat I’m in a sewing slump unfortunately I’ve had some health challenges. Yesterday I went into my sewing room for an hour just hoping to get my mojo back. Thanks so much for all you do.I have been watching you everyday.
Hope you feel better soon. It can be so discouraging when health suffers. Hang in there and lean on the community.
I have had mine cut out for months and still haven’t started it. Yours is beautiful
What a fun video as always Pat! Love your block Wednesday quilt!
When I was still working, I knit several baby blankets for baby showers. At best, I might have four or five months to do it, between knowing a friend was expecting and the shower date. I really had to plan and schedule and still do all the normal chores, etc. Twenty minutes for each row and 260 rows. Even now that I'm retired, some projects still require scheduling.
Glad you seem to be feeling better! I only have a sewing schedule for weekly or monthly projects since I'm retired. I usually have 4 or 5 projects ongoing, and I pick whichever one I feel like working on or if one has a deadline coming up. I should have a cleaning schedule though.......🤣
I'm retired, so no schedule works for me.❤
Same here 😊
So fun today!!! I loved all the fun things you showed Pat. Thank you!!
Your hair looks great today Pat! ❤😊
I was thinking the exact same thing ❤
Thank you another helpful and interesting video 😊 I'm retired so ANY schedule works for me 😂
I love a video with a little bit of this and that!
Good morning from Oregon. The strip blocks with the beautiful blue background to me , from a distance looks like a city skyline reflected on the blue water. Love this quilt blocks. Have a wonderful day 😊❤
Hi Pat, your Jelly Roll Sampler is gorgeous! Sounds like you're finally feeling better...YAY!
I love art gallery fabric personally. Gorgeous quality
I have organized chaos in my sewing room as I work on a lot of different projects at a time until I get on a roll for a particular project and push that one to a particular stage. Several bins sit out, usually with the next step staged, on surfaces in my sewing room (design wall, design boards, rolling cart, tables) so I can advance whichever one when I feel like doing a particular step (cutting, sewing borders, binding, piecing blocks, planning, etc.) The one thing that isn’t working in this system is quilting. I have several quilts basted and ready to quilt, but I have to make notes of where I am and pack away the other projects, switch threads and reconfigure tables around my machine to do that, and so far they have been sitting for 4 months so going to have to bite that bullet!
I have this same problem. Stopping the piecing long enough to reset everything for quilting. Sometimes I just want simple sewing, but when my machine/room is set for quilting, I sometimes avoid the sewing room. I've got to get this figured out. The basted quilt tops are piling up.
@@lindak5610 the struggle is real! 😂 I totally agree, sometimes I just want to feed simple pieces through the machine, sometimes I want to cut, sometimes I want to push through to see the design come together. I have 4 basted quilts waiting for my attention though.
Good morning Pat. You look and sound particularly upbeat today. Hope it's because your cold is gone. And all the red is very complementary on you. Love the jelly roll quilt. Thank you for all your sharing.
That Ruby Society is pretty awesome.😊👍🇱🇷
Thanks for the inspiration ❤❤❤
You hair looks lovely today!
Your red and white blocks are wonderful and repeated into a single block quilt would be phenomenal
I don't have a schedule. But I have a small calendar to record what i work on that day. I think that it shows me how much I actually sew.
I do this too, for the same reason 😍
Me, too. I once got discouraged cuz I felt I was accomplishing anything so I started writing down what I did on calendar- including my big housework. I was surprised how much I did every day. I finished 24ufo’s so far this year. And have also started 6 new quilts ! I enjoy paper crafts as well.
I usually buy ½-1 yd amounts of fabrics I like
Good morning from Schertz Texas
The Ruby Society thread works so well on featherweights!
Thanks!
thank you so much!
I like the red sashing for your scrap blocks, and I hope you can find more of that shade of red. I like the Coriander Colors line and I think I heard that it will be a basics line, at least for a while.
Thanks for sharing. You are wanting me to buy fabrics 😂
Love the bright red sashing Yes. Yes
Interesting binding fabric...will check it out
Hi Pat, hope you have a good evening.
GM from Tampa
Good morning have a wonderful day
Love the binding fabric, just bought some, so I don’t use it all up, I am going to just put a few feet of it in scrappy bindings so it will go further.
Hi the block reminds me of Texas! Like the red.😊
Me, too. I was thinking the same thing. Have you seen the Texas pattern made from strips?
I live in Abilene. Am I missing something? I don't see Texas. Do you mean because of the red bandana fabric?
@@marlahanks7278 The shape of the strips looks a bit like the state. I’m in central Texas. The pattern I mentioned was sold in Houston and is actually designed to be Texas. This one is not but still reminds me of the state.
@@sonjadalglish6544 If it's the pattern I'm thinking of-I have it. Mine is made from squares & HSTs. I think most in our Thimbleberries group made a bed size one years ago. I made a little wall hanging for my husband's RV. I think the finished squares were 1"🤣🤣
It’s is, I found it on her blog 🙌🏼
I used a binding like that on my tiny houses
I like the skinny red sashing. Maybe use it and then use another red print for a skinny border, maybe some from one of your collections, mein r it is scrappy u may not need to make the sashings and border the same fabric, looking forward to seeing it done. I need to do this with my crumb blocks.
My suggestion, and it’s just a suggestion, I would donate the critter blocks and let someone else make a quilt for charity.
I am learning so much from your videos and projects in the books! Am loving the jelly roll sampler doing mine in reds and whites . I want to use one of your Paradise Park wide backs… the flowers like daisies or the print that reminds me of a paisley. Can you tell me where I can order it from? I have looked around a little but not sure where to find it! Thanks for all you do for the quilting community!❤❤😊😊
I just work on stuff whenever I can
Your Ambassador Barbara is a member of my quilt Guild
I love this use of crumb blocks in the Don Quixto pattern. I am also sewing along. The narrow sashing is a great idea but I really do not like the red for the sashing. Maybe a navy or the lime green in the quilt. I think there is not enough red in the scrap blocks to use the red.
Work on it Wednesday 🎉😂
Hi You can see the difference between the real red in your shirt and Corey's orange red! Can't use that color palette.
Hi Pat :), I was looking at the crazy block quilt and was thinking might be nice without confining the blocks to a square with solid contrasting sashing. What do you think about making a sashing that allows the eye to flow between the blocks, possibly with crazy piecing. The blocks look like they want to spin.
Thanks for watching! I'm going to do the small red sashing that i showed you. You can try your idea on your blocks, show us when you get a few done!
I have a question. I notice that your blocks (an example would be the scrap blocks in your rolling cart) never have any ravels on them. My blocks seem to get ravels. How or what do you do? I try to buy name brand fabric. Maybe I handle them to much. I don't starch. Maybe that could be an option, but I didn't think that you starched. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.
Good question, I have thought about that too.
I don't starch and I don't do anything special. I just cut and sew and press. There are threads. Maybe you are over sensitive to the thread issue? have you looked at friends blocks? taken yoru blocks to a guild meeting or quilt shop and see if they think they are unravelled to much? it is going to happen, Batiks unravel much less, regular cotton all makes threads
👍❤️🙂
I bought the quilt block extravaganza. Want to make the don quixote block. I dont find the measurements for the one cut. How or where did you demo this block. Help
that is great! It is a process, not a measurement. They tell you that in the directions. You can watch my video at ruclips.net/video/UtqRmD4heuc/видео.html
When you cut your 2.5” squares from the yellow fat quarters, how many strips will you cut?
I did 2
Morning. I love the black and white checks and want to order some. I can’t tell from FQ site which you have. Is it the 1/8 inch check or the Buffalo? Thanks in advance!!
thanks for watching! Chelsea's Checks Black and White 1/8" Checks Yardage shrsl.com/4lwc3
@@PatSloanthank you. I never miss your show🥰
What is the fabric you are using on your jelly roll quilt again?
I think it’s Paradise Park from Benartex. Rewind the video. She holds it up and says it.
