Since doing this, I recommend wiping ol thermal paste and adding new one. It is not a good idea to reseat the components on old dry thermal paste.
Hi I have a z500 with very noisy fan, so video of interest to me.
The video is clear and camera stable so easy to see the steps and order you have taken. Thank you for that.
I personally think your video would be greatly enhanced with sound (no doubt a deliberate choice) so that you can point out any risks and things to avoid long the way, eg order of removing screws on heat sink mounted to CPU.
On negative, some things happen off camera, such as when cleaning fan. Perhaps second camera for this or a voice over explaining what you are doing?
Finally, very surprised that you did not remove old thermal paste and apply new thermal paste to CPU since without a good contact, I image the fan and cooling performance greatly reduced???

I do have one question though. Why did you not re-apply thermal paste on the pads before re-installing them?
Anyway, I cleaned it up but the fan keeps making a whirring noise when I use Dust Removal Tool.

I too have a z500. Always something to learn from these videos, so thank you for that. Would be greatly enhanced with an audio commentary although no doubt you have your reasons. The video looks remarkably similar that that on Phone Laptop Repair j500j500. Bizarre that you demonstrated cleaning your fan assembly directly over the motherboard/circuitry. Question that you did not clean off old thermal paste and apply new thermal paste to CPU & GPU, thus crucially not ensuring a good thermal contact.

@How-FixIT Ive Z400. Want to upgrade hhd to ssd.. should I replace with the metalic cage? Put inside of it?
Do you need to remove the keyboard to install the RAM and SSD?
Is it necessary to disconnect the battery from the notebook that goes inside the top like a bar ... to do the replacement of ram and ssd?
Can you add a 2.5 "7mm Sata III SSD? For example a Crucial MX500?
Finally: do you clean the circuits with a brush or is it special antistatic? Or just the fan its ok?

Термопасту конечно же нужно менять, мы этого не могли сделать на видео потому как гарантийный случай и заводскую пасту нельзя менять.
при гарантийных случаях разве можно вообще разбирать ноутбук?
Что бы отснять видео которое поможет людям в разборке, мы готовы идти на риски.

Спс за видео.Перестало показывать заряд батареи.Помогло снятие и установка назад шлейфа батареи.
what size screwdrixer is needed?
есть опыт в апгрейде данного бука замены матрицы на IPS FULL HD ? говорят есть потом проблема в плавной регулировки яркости и нужно матрицу прошивать либо ище как то в реестре править
ips матрица имеет другой вход и шлейф этого ноутбука в нее даже не войдет
у данного бука двухканальный шлейф и матрицы IPS серии LP156W совместимы
шлейф может и двухканальный, с такой характеристикой шлейфов не знаком. Но насколько я помню в серии Lenovo Z500 матрицы стоят типа 15.6" LED WXGA и вход у них 40pin, и соответственно шлейф под эти же 40pin. А на 15,6 IPS матрицах насколько мне известно входы бывают только 30pin, и 40-ка пиновый шлейф в нее ну никак не войдет
40пин у LP156W например LP156WF4-SLBA, народ уже ставил на этот ноут ips и разница весьма ощутима слева TFка родная с права IPS s48.radikal.ru/i122/1707/e1/4c61fdbb0400t.jpg
извиняюсь был неправ. Опыта такой замены у меня не было, да и 40пин IPS матрицу не встречал. Но если у кого то на такой же модели эта замена получалась то скорее всего получится и у Вас.

А как ты его снимешь если он несъемный?
Нужно ли на этом ноутбуке менять термопасту?
2 года не пылесосил этот ноут... Как думаешь перенагревается он из-за этого?
+Амфибрафий Шнипперсон да, скорее всего нужно почистить систему охлаждения (пылесосить не обязательно), главное убрать пыль с радиатора возле вентилятора, ну и сам вентилятор прочистить

Добрый день ! Недавно столкнулся с такой проблемой, ноут Lenovo z500 стал сильно греться и зависать. По читав на форумах понял что надо по чистить систему охлаждение и заменить термопасту ! После всех манипуляций, получилось добраться до заветной цели ! После чистки и замены пасты, собрал ноут обратно ! По пытался включить а он не включается, даже признаков жизни не подает хоть и питание подключено ! После снова вкрыл и проверил все шлейфы и контакты но они на месте и не тронуты ! Подскажите что сделать или какие есть варианты ? Сервисного центра в моем городе нет что бы обратится ! Заранее благодарен за помощь !
+Артём Яковлев ну тут пара вариантов: первое что нужно проверить - правильность включения шлейфов (да я видел что Вы написали что сделали это, но все же), они должны быть вставлены правильно и полностью, что бы сидели плотно, и целостность этих самых шлейфов: шлейф кнопки питания, шлейф матрицы, шлейф гнезда питания вобщето стоить просмотреть вобще все шлейфы которые были отключены при разборке. Если при разборке не было что либо повреждено, физически, либо другим способом, то переподключение этих самых шлейфов должно помочь, если же нет, то к сожалению лучше обратиться за помощью к специалистам (к выбору сервисного центра советую отнестись скептически, ищите, читайте, смотрите отзывы на сторонних источниках), но перед этим все же тщательно проверите те самые шлейфы.
How-FixIT спасибо ! перепроверка шлейфа помогла ! под клавиатурой при сборки один немного отошел ! его подключение все сразу исправило )
+How-FixIT я хочу у вас спросить, на данном видео человек убирает клавиатуру, и перед тем как убрать нижнюю крышку ноутбука он под клавой что то от кручивает, без этого можно открыть эту крышку или нет? просто у меня она не открывается

Как снять батарею? После чистки перестал монитор не включается. Что может быть? Спасибо за ответ.
Саша Козаченко батарею Вы можете снять после снятие нижней крышки (видно на видео ее начиная с 5:33). На счет того что "монитор перестал включаться": смотря что Вы имеете в виду, но если ничего при разборке не повредили, то для того что бы все работало достаточно перепроверить\перевставить: озу, питание куллера, шлейф кнопки питания, клавиатуру, проверить полностью ли прикручена система охлаждения (так на всякий случай)

Но комп ВКЛ. И вентилятор работает,и клава горит, и диск крутиться. Буду дома перепроверю...
И проверю через hdmi.

The keyboard is held by only two screws at the back, and some low profile clips at the bottom and the sides. As soon as the keyboard is slightly bent through from behind, e.g. with a toothpick through the screw hoes, the side clips will come out. Some wiggle and the rest will too.
