  • How to install a bathroom bathtub surround using a Dumawall system - DIY
    I recently installed a Dumawall system for a client at their bathtub. It was a great install. It took about a day to day and a half to install. most of the wall went up the first day then trim work was the next. The great thing about this system is the interlocking edges with sealant. It makes a seamless system that is low maintenance.
    I do not represent Dumawall in any way. This was a install for a client that purchased the Dumawall system for their bathroom.
    Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. I hope this helps.
    Have a great day!

    Thanks for posting this! I'll be undertaking a similar installation soon, but will do the shower walls and all areas covered by old blue tile. Do you think that the trim kits (J and/or L trim) could be installed over bullnose trim since it's partially rounded? Thanks for any guidance you could offer!

    Nice job, looks great! What did you use to trim out the edge of the dumawall? Can't really see what you did to the finish off the cut edges, it didn't look like the Dumawall "J trim." Thanks!

    • @mountpac4464
      @mountpac4464  2 года назад

      the inside corners were just glue and caulking. the outside was a plastic j trim, at the window I used a plastic J trim. Dumawall sells an inside corner trim that matched the color of Dumawall system. also you might be able to use FRP panel edging. I hope this helps. - have a great day!

    Excellent video! Thank you! How thick would you say the Dumawall is? 1/8” or a little more? Do you think it would look OK without any end caps? And lastly I’m wondering about how it will hold up after washing with bath tub cleaning supplies? I know some materials tend to start turning yellow and start breaking down after using cleaning supplies on them.

    • @mountpac4464
      @mountpac4464  2 года назад

      Hello,
      I think its about 1/8" thick
      I don't think it would look good without the trim pieces.
      I recommend looking up the manufacturers recommended cleaning instructions.

      Also, do you need to place a waterproof membrane on the drywall as well as caulking each piece?

    • @mountpac4464
      @mountpac4464  3 года назад

      Hello, I didn't add waterproofing in addition to the water resistant drywall. The Dumawall is plastic and the caulking between each tile creates a water tight system. However if you are concerned with water I would recommend installing the roll on waterproofing over the drywall prior to installing the Dumawall system. I hope you project goes well.
