    For last question
    N cos53=ma(acceleration of wedge horizontally )
    Since acceleration of wedge=12, mass of wedge=10,and cos 53=3/5
    => N3/5=10*12
    => N=120*5/3
    => N=200

  • @Gzrigel
    @Gzrigel 3 года назад +332

    The answer of last question is 200N
    Solution: As the wedge moves in the shown direction with 12m/s2, the only force acting in that direction is Ncos53. So, NCos53=mass*acceleration
    => N *3/5=10*12
    => N = 200N

    Force by wedge on rod is the NORMAL REACTION on it ,
    Mass of wedge = 10kg
    Accleration = 12m/s^2
    F=120N
    Also Ncos53 provides accleration 12m/s^2
    So the F must be equal to Ncos53
    N×3/5 = 120
    N = 200N

  • @satyaneshibyomkeshbakshi2166
    @satyaneshibyomkeshbakshi2166 3 года назад +237

    Last ans will be 200N...the block is moving due to component of Normal (N)along horizontal...so
    Fnet=ma
    Ncos53=10*12
    N=(120*5)/3=200N
    Note:
    Normal due to block =normal due to inclined plane(Newton's 3rd law)..so N in both the cases will be 200N...and that is the force which is causing the inclined block to move

    In order to find the force make components of normal reaction of rod on wedge then take horizontal component ( because it is responsible for acceleration in forward direction ) now make equation N.sin37°= (mass of wedge ) × ( acceleration )
    Put values and you'll have the value of N.

    Force on rod by wedge =72N. Because Normal force will be perpendicular to rod. So we have to take component of acceleration of the wedge in that direction (12cos53) and multiply it with mass. 12*3/5* 10 = 72N.

      Don't see sirs videos directly without knowing anything about the chapter.. Though sir teaches in a awesome way still u need to first know what u r going to learn rather than getting fully dependent on sir. So first have a quick overlook over the material that u r following, read it try to understand it of Ur own first . That will help u in getting Ur concepts clear and will help u to solve ncert questions which r mostly conceptual ones.If u don't know which book is a good book then take alakh sirs Pdf notes ,read them and then see the lectures . Probably this technique will be more effective. It's because I too faced the same problem that u r facing and I did the same and this technique helped me to improve

      Okay so, if we go by the basics, normal force is the constraint here, the wedge starts to accelerate with 12m/s² due to the normal force. When the wedge was at rest, it still had mg acting vertically downwards, but it didn't produce any acceleration in the horizontal direction, therefore we don't have to consider gravitational force component along N.
      Secondly, again N is the force causing acceleration, 12m/s² is the component of N acting along the x axis, therefore the component of N along x will be equal to 12•m, in your soln, you're taking the component of 12 along the direction of N which is incorrect.
      Having that explained,
      Ncos53°= 12•10
      N= 12•10•5\3
      N= 200N
      Hope this helps :)
