I think he said somewhere she was his teacher in the competiton and he was greatful he had an opportunity to learn from her and sing with her. She supported him in the duet so pattiently. It is visible she'd been here great leader.

I love Dimash but he really struggles with Michael Jackson's catalog. I think Michael would struggle to do Dimash's catalog as well because the styles demand two completely different kinds of voice. Michael had a colloquial style while Dimash manipulates every note with immaculate precision. Both styles are beautiful and entirely unique, and each of these men is singular in his contribution to music.
Not really. Watch him do HIS version of a Tribute to M.J. in the Bastau concert and again a couple of concerts later. On the later one he is wearing white and it is the fan cam you will want to watch.
Thank you very much for your reactions, I really like them, and it's so nice that you read the comments and leave likes under them, I wanted to tell you about this performance that in the last round of this contest Dimash had big problems with his voice, he got 8 throats I learned this from his interview, and after he performed the songs he again lost his voice, he was such a fine fellow that he was still able to perform to the maximum. Well and then he didn’t have such good English, I don’t know if you knew it or not just share it with you i. but in one way or another he made a dignity. Dear Caleb this performance was three years ago that time he didn't know english well. We mustn't forget that english is his third language only, now he has improved both his English and singing!
Another dynamic involved in Dimash singing in English is that the vowel sounds in Kazakh are so vastly different from English Vowell sounds. I think about how difficult it would be for an English speaking artist to sing a song in Kazakh. As you know, Dimash has been working hard on speaking English & Mandarin Chinese. He is improving in both languages. I think he sees his future requiring good fluency in both languages.

Laure is not just an incredible singer. She is also an amazing talent scout. She works for a record company that she got Dimash and Hue Chenyu signed too.

The singer with Dimash is a fantastic Chinese artist , I have seen her name written as Laure Shang but otherwise in Chinese characters which I cannot comprehend - I wish you would check out some of her performance from previous The Singer shows. She performs Dog Days are Over that is phenomenal. She is now on Super Vocal 2 which is my favourite musical program from China showcasing young classically trained male singers hoping to progress to musicals, operas It is an A+ programme. Love her talent and skill. She is a fashion icon also.

Laure was the judge that recognized Hua Chenyu's genius ability to express emotions through music in his Lyricless song. She also did a duet with Hua "Little Star" which shows both his and her unusual etherial performance. Child is also one of his great angelic performance.

Thank you for the explanation/demonstration of how vowels affect the brightness and tone of a note. It makes it easier to understand how singing in a foreign language is so difficult. I think his Italian is better than his English as in Ogni Pietra and Confessa. Perhaps he shines in those songs because the vowels are more comfortable for him?
@@CalebColesMusic I think his Italian is better because of his classical training. You can't do that without singing a lot of Italian songs besides the use of Italian music terminology. And his classical vocal teacher sings with good Italian but has limited English skills.
Caleb ... thanks for finally getting around to reacting to this. So glad his English has gotten so much better since this performance. As I've have come to understand it, the reason why the decision was made to have this medley slowed down in tempo was really to help with Dimash's difficulty with his English enunciation of words and facilitate a clearer more understandable presentation of the lyrics. Laure is an outstanding vocalist who obviously has a much better grasp of the English language and has a commanding stage presence to match. It was fun watching these two balance the skills they both brought to the table (like showing off on the drums!) that made this such an enjoyable performance to watch. Caleb, beautifully covered again, as usual. I said this before...that Dimash NEVER totally pulls off any of the more Poppy songs. He sounds strained throughout, his accent makes it hard as well. And jn this case, he is overshadowed by the magnificent seasoned Laure. I love the man. But he should stay in his own lane, because this is where he is unparallelled.
Great reaction) Dimash was really nervous there because that was the final of Singer with voting by TV audience. He had problems with mic as you probably heard, he struggled with English pronunciation but still he was amazing ( but as a result he was the second). Look at his MJ tribute at Bastau concert- he has improved greatly. Laure Shang is a partner of the Chinese agency with which Dimash started his career in China. It would be interesting for you to know that she was the person who supported Hua Chen Yu greatly at the very beginning of his career. I can send you a link to the video of his first appearance at the contest where she was a judge in 2013. Laure also was a judge for Super Vocal contest and influenced Super Vocal team creation ( they were in Singer 2019 final and sang Queen medley with Dimash as you remember).

Yeah this wsas duet week on the show and as others have said Laure (pronounced lorry) was in fact at that time one of the directors of BG talent, so in effect one of his bosses! she was also a previous winner of the Singer about two years before … great singer. Dimash was only just learning English throughout the Singer comp and apparently, as you say it was the vowel sounds that were the biggest problem for him, as in the Kazakh language they are not pronounced as obvious as you can hear in his speaking voice. 👍👍😊

Agree this wasnt his best performance by any means. Thankfully his English has improved and so has his pronunciation. Laure is so good here though. He looked very awkward in this but his confidence has greatly improved now. This was his first outing in front of such a huge audience, I know this was his last performance but he was young and must have been nervous. I love Dimash, he is the best singer in the world to me, but this wasnt his best work I will admit. Thank you Caleb as always a nice honest review 💖

Caleb, thank you for finally reacting to this. Now you see why I was begging you to get back to it when you went past Singer 2017 to more recent songs. Laure Shang came on as a guest. This is why I only said he played a 3rd instrument for this medley & you see now his mother & father in the front row when he finished playing drums and got up & at the end of the medley & now you see the special group I was talking about for the last song of the medley. He has been studying Mandarin & English & dance & he still does a tribute to MJ at every concert.

Caleb, now that you have finished Singer 2017 & I have told you he does a tribute to MJ at every concert & has been studying English & dance PLEASE go to his channel Dimash Kudaibergen & react to Lay Down & another tribute to MJ that Dimash composed titled Give Me Your Love. Both songs were performed at his sold out concert in Moscow & the dancers for both songs are members of the Russian Ballet. At almost the end the camera didn't show it very well but he does one of several MJ moves during the song which is the moonwalk.

Yes to all you said, his duet with Victor Ma was already better, and how he has matured and grow up so much in all fields. Check his tribute to MJ at his Bastau concert. And his last song Give me love that he just compose once again as a Tribute to MJ, even his dancing is getting better by the day .😊😊 and yes he will always have an accent when singing in English, but you know for me at least that doesn't matter because the way he sings and performs is just wow. I always think pop doesn't really suit Dimash, his voice/diction is so clean and clear that the 'casualness' of pop doesn't sound right, but I have to give him credit he always gives 100% :)
Dimash on the drums during a Michael Jackson song... has there been a hotter scene on the Singer? Lol, he's a freaking one man band, plays different kinds of guitars, the drums, and do both the male and female rock vocals. Lololol, freaking Dimash. I think once he masters English, he'll knock out the pop sound, because you gotta know how to pronounce it first before you get the stylized articulation in song, which is yet another shift. He's also just used to having a more neutral larynx with big sounds as opposed to using brighter timbre. I agree that Dimash still knocked it out of the park despite this language challenge. I totally agree that Laure was fantastic. She was amazing with her vibrato and vocal tone. She had that really nice jazzy velvety tone that melds well with Michael Jackson's style, since he drew a lot of jazz and rock influences into his music. He was really classy with his jazzy dancing style as well, a very unique and iconic style of the jazz repertoire. Michael Jackson is just legendary in terms of his contribution to music and dance.
No, no, Caleb you were right : Dimash was not as perfect as usual. Here in France, we know Laure very well because she started her career in France. She speaks our language very well... even if it's not quite as perfect as Liu Huan (the 50 year old man who laughs at 3:29. Liu Huan is one of the most important singers in China, judge in the most contests, and Singer 2019's winner with a score over 60%, never reached by anyone). Dimash loves MJ, but like Huo Zun, because his parents adored MJ. Probably not for a reaction but just to take a look, here is a fancam of Huo Zun singing "You are not alone" just for a few friends, before starting his career. Thanks for the reaction. I don’t disagree with anything you said and I have to admit that this was never my favorite performance from the Singer. There may have been some added stressors for Dimash in addition to the language barrier like his mic cutting out for part of the performance (you see him singing but we can’t hear him), and I’m not sure if having his mother and father in the audience might have made him a little self-conscious. I have a suggestion for your next Dimash reaction. You mentioned you were curious about songs that Dimash wrote. One of my favorites is “War and Peace” which I’ve read he composed while at university. Dimash adores children and he wrote it because he didn’t want children to have to suffer through the violence of war. As far as I know he has only sung this song in China and he had someone write the lyrics in Mandarin. There are a some fan cams on RUclips where the sound quality is poor. If you choose to react to it, I would recommend the Druppy Channel version (Fuzhou concert); the sound is pretty clear and it has subtitles. Dears out there, please correct me if I got anything wrong.

The singer with Dimash is a fantastic Chinese artist , I have seen her name written as Laure Shang but otherwise in Chinese characters which I cannot comprehend - I wish you would check out some of her performance from previous The Singer shows. She performs Dog Days are Over that is phenomenal.
She is now on Super Vocal 2 which is my favourite musical program from China showcasing young classically trained male singers hoping to progress to musicals, operas It is an A+ programme. Love her talent and skill. She is a fashion icon also.

Laure was the judge that recognized Hua Chenyu's genius ability to express emotions through music in his Lyricless song. She also did a duet with Hua "Little Star" which shows both his and her unusual etherial performance. Child is also one of his great angelic performance.

thank you Caleb for giving such gent analyse of this. this just showed to me that not even Dimash is jack of all trades in singing, even he has more to learn, at least stylistically from different areas. Also he was pretty young at this time, nowadays he has come miles and miles further.

Thank you for the explanation/demonstration of how vowels affect the brightness and tone of a note. It makes it easier to understand how singing in a foreign language is so difficult. I think his Italian is better than his English as in Ogni Pietra and Confessa. Perhaps he shines in those songs because the vowels are more comfortable for him?
That would probably be true! Many languages have sounds that naturally suit singing. Italian is one of them, and English isn't !
@@CalebColesMusic I think his Italian is better because of his classical training. You can't do that without singing a lot of Italian songs besides the use of Italian music terminology. And his classical vocal teacher sings with good Italian but has limited English skills.

Caleb ... thanks for finally getting around to reacting to this. So glad his English has gotten so much better since this performance. As I've have come to understand it, the reason why the decision was made to have this medley slowed down in tempo was really to help with Dimash's difficulty with his English enunciation of words and facilitate a clearer more understandable presentation of the lyrics. Laure is an outstanding vocalist who obviously has a much better grasp of the English language and has a commanding stage presence to match. It was fun watching these two balance the skills they both brought to the table (like showing off on the drums!) that made this such an enjoyable performance to watch. As always thank you for your insightful comments and I look forward to seeing what U react to next. But please ... STOP listening to things that make U wanna Scratch Ur EYES OUT!!! A reasoned and very fair reaction and down in my list of heard Dimash favourite songs, however I enjoyed the imperfections and rawness of it all..
Caleb, beautifully covered again, as usual. I said this before...that Dimash NEVER totally pulls off any of the more Poppy songs. He sounds strained throughout, his accent makes it hard as well. And jn this case, he is overshadowed by the magnificent seasoned Laure. I love the man. But he should stay in his own lane, because this is where he is unparallelled.

Great reaction) Dimash was really nervous there because that was the final of Singer with voting by TV audience. He had problems with mic as you probably heard, he struggled with English pronunciation but still he was amazing ( but as a result he was the second). Look at his MJ tribute at Bastau concert- he has improved greatly.
Laure Shang is a partner of the Chinese agency with which Dimash started his career in China.

to know that she was the person who supported Hua Chen Yu greatly at the very beginning of his career. I can send you a link to the video of his first appearance at the contest where she was a judge in 2013.

Yeah this wsas duet week on the show and as others have said Laure (pronounced lorry) was in fact at that time one of the directors of BG talent, so in effect one of his bosses! she was also a previous winner of the Singer about two years before … great singer. Dimash was only just learning English throughout the Singer comp and apparently, as you say it was the vowel sounds that were the biggest problem for him, as in the Kazakh language they are not pronounced as obvious as you can hear in his speaking voice. 👍👍😊
All those things would have made it very hard for Dimash in this performance!

Agree this wasnt his best performance by any means. Thankfully his English has improved and so has his pronunciation. Laure is so good here though. He looked very awkward in this but his confidence has greatly improved now. This was his first outing in front of such a huge audience, I know this was his last performance but he was young and must have been nervous. I love Dimash, he is the best singer in the world to me, but this wasnt his best work I will admit. Thank you Caleb as always a nice honest review 💖

Caleb, thank you for finally reacting to this. Now you see why I was begging you to get back to it when you went past Singer 2017 to more recent songs. Laure Shang came on as a guest. This is why I only said he played a 3rd instrument for this medley & you see now his mother & father in the front row when he finished playing drums and got up & at the end of the medley & now you see the special group I was talking about for the last song of the medley. He has been studying Mandarin & English & dance & he still does a tribute to MJ at every concert.

@@CalebColesMusic Like I said, he composed Give Me Your Love which is a tribute from his Moscow concert & he also did a similar song called Lay Down. In Give Me Your Love he did several MJ moves including the moonwalk but you have to watch for it because the camera doesn't show a close up like the foot & kick & finger.

Caleb, now that you have finished Singer 2017 & I have told you he does a tribute to MJ at every concert & has been studying English & dance PLEASE go to his channel Dimash Kudaibergen & react to Lay Down & another tribute to MJ that Dimash composed titled Give Me Your Love. Both songs were performed at his sold out concert in Moscow & the dancers for both songs are members of the Russian Ballet. At almost the end the camera didn't show it very well but he does one of several MJ moves during the song which is the moonwalk.

Mesmo com a dificuldade que Dimash tinha com o idioma inglês eu gostei muito das apresentações dele interpretando nesse idioma, mas entendi a sua crítica e acho que é válida já que na época, como você mesmo destacou ele não tinha muita intimidade com o idioma inglês e amadureceu muito de 2017 a 2019. Yes to all you said, his duet with Victor Ma was already better, and how he has matured and grow up so much in all fields. Check his tribute to MJ at his Bastau concert. And his last song Give me love that he just compose once again as a Tribute to MJ, even his dancing is getting better by the day .😊😊 and yes he will always have an accent when singing in English, but you know for me at least that doesn't matter because the way he sings and performs is just wow. I can't understand Russian, Mandarin and Kazakh, but oh boy all the emotions are felt when he sings. Loved your reaction 💞💞

Dimash on the drums during a Michael Jackson song... has there been a hotter scene on the Singer? Lol, he's a freaking one man band, plays different kinds of guitars, the drums, and do both the male and female rock vocals. Lololol, freaking Dimash.
I think once he masters English, he'll knock out the pop sound, because you gotta know how to pronounce it first before you get the stylized articulation in song, which is yet another shift. He's also just used to having a more neutral larynx with big sounds as opposed to using brighter timbre. I agree that Dimash still knocked it out of the park despite this language challenge.
I totally agree that Laure was fantastic. She was amazing with her vibrato and vocal tone. She had that really nice jazzy velvety tone that melds well with Michael Jackson's style, since he drew a lot of jazz and rock influences into his music. He was really classy with his jazzy dancing style as well, a very unique and iconic style of the jazz repertoire. Michael Jackson is just legendary in terms of his contribution to music and dance.

Here in France, we know Laure very well because she started her career in France. She speaks our language very well... even if it's not quite as perfect as Liu Huan (the 50 year old man who laughs at 3:29. Liu Huan is one of the most important singers in China, judge in the most contests, and Singer 2019's winner with a score over 60%, never reached by anyone).
Dimash loves MJ, but like Huo Zun, because his parents adored MJ.
Probably not for a reaction but just to take a look, here is a fancam of Huo Zun singing "You are not alone" just for a few friends, before starting his career. He was 23 years old and was not yet known for his sublime "bead curtain" that will make Liu Huan cry. Laure and Huo Zun will also sing together.

@@janeb1484 Zunzun is my favorite Chinese singer. But I must say I'm a traditional music and song's lover. His "Mo Li Hua" and his "Pearl curtain" are pure splendors. Not to mention his performances in Beijin's opera.
In almost everything he does we feel the "Zen touch" elevating the song to a higher level. He's unique !

Thanks for the reaction. I don’t disagree with anything you said and I have to admit that this was never my favorite performance from the Singer. There may have been some added stressors for Dimash in addition to the language barrier like his mic cutting out for part of the performance (you see him singing but we can’t hear him), and I’m not sure if having his mother and father in the audience might have made him a little self-conscious. I have a suggestion for your next Dimash reaction. You mentioned you were curious about songs that Dimash wrote. One of my favorites is “War and Peace” which I’ve read he composed while at university. Dimash adores children and he wrote it because he didn’t want children to have to suffer through the violence of war. As far as I know he has only sung this song in China and he had someone write the lyrics in Mandarin. There are a some fan cams on RUclips where the sound quality is poor. If you choose to react to it, I would recommend the Druppy Channel version (Fuzhou concert); the sound is pretty clear and it has subtitles. Dears out there, please correct me if I got anything wrong.
