If you use an external microphone on your Sony camera, the one annoying accessory is the cable that connects the mic to the camera. DJI has solved yet another problem by creating this adapter, allowing DJI Mic 2 users to attach their receiver to a Sony camera without the need of a 3.5mm cable. The adapter simplifies the setup, and help prevent a cable from being pulled or snagged when in the field.

Does this work w DJI mic 1?
@@μπουζούκι no
With this camera shoe adapter you don't need wires? But it works like receptor? Any improvements?
Such an elegant and clean solution. Can this become the new standard for camera components please
I require 4 mics so how would the transmitter handle that situation or is it just limited to two?
Does it work with DJI Mic1?
Do you still have a version 1 DJI mic? Curious if there was any chance it would work with the adaptor (my guess is no). Great video dude! Makes me want to upgrade. Didn't care about 32bit float, but this would make me upgrade.
Adapter does not fit the DJI mic 1 receiver.
canon missed the mark again, I'm jumping ship soon. Canons multifunction shoe has what?... 2 accessories. They probably closed the system so tight, no one wants to develop anything for their systems. Take another DJI product the focus pro, can't even start/stop recording with the handle on the r5c
What about canon 😮
Another Big W from DJI on this one! Thanks for sharing this Aldryn!!
I ordered immediately, they will be sold out in an hour and will be back ordered for 6 months. I love my Rode wireless Pro’s, but this just made me completely switch to my mic 2’s. DJI is eventually going to take over the entire camera market.
So I am guessing and hoping this will let me use the DJI mics as channels 3-4 on my fx6 and then run 2 xlr as well. A cheaper solution from Sonys first party wireless system. With the trade off being not UHF but can have 32bit internal recording.
Hoping for same thing with fx9.
@@Elemonator It is confirmed to work the with FX6 so the FX9 should be the same. Source video ruclips.net/video/TkSUrLLzWH0/видео.htmlsi=Nm36R3BYHQ5mW3KL
@@andrewbarr9700 love it! I’ll try it out as soon as it shows up!
@@andrewbarr9700 update. Sadly it does not appear to work on the fx9. Transmitter recognizes it’s connected. Camera recognizes something is there. But I do not see any audio signals coming through.
@@andrewbarr9700 I say that but I’m still rocking firmware 3.0. Let me see about updating the firmware to see if that changes anything.
0:07 what is the name of the manufacturer of this interesting camera lens collar I see?
Ulanzi. Link in description
Dang it I am so jealous right now. I want one of those adapters really badly.
Be gone cables!!!!!
Yeah I ordered mine immediately! They will be sold out within a few hours.
Question: Does the adaptor allow triggering of the transmitters record function by rolling the camera? that would be pretty amazing
The audio doesn't sound that full seem to missing some frequency range, might be noise cancelation built into the DJI, but prefer the sound in your studio than when you were outside talking.
i wish you could fit this adapter in the case so you don't have to carry anything extra
quick question! can i use the dji mic with this adapter and connect a shotgun mic via the audio jack and receive two channels of audio? Great video nonetheless!
I got my mic 2 delivered yesterday! Did not know this even existed. Thank you!
Me too. Going to get it as well, it sure helps a bit as the provided cable is a bit stiff.
Does it turn on an off when you turn on and off the camera? Great video
I have the mic 2 that came with pocket 3. Do i need to buy the receiver and the dji adaptor for my sony zve10?
I'm calling it, they gonna make this built in on DJI MIC 3
Such a great idea from DJI. Thanks for making this video. Very well done. Have a great day!
It's sad that it doesn't work for the Sony zv1 :( I was dumb to buy it without even researching. Well, I guess I now have a stronger case to buy a new camera. 🤣😅🤣
Hmmmm…I wonder if there will be one for Panasonic and Canon too in the future.
Wow! WOW! I never imagined such a thing would exist but I have always LOVED that Sony smart hot shoe ! Almost want to buy an FX30 now. Sweetie & I LOVED hearing this. Now we have to get back to vlogging our beer with the Pocket 3 and our 2 DJI MIC2s. Keep the always great videos coming.

Okay, now THIS is just what I needed to see and hear about so I could decide on getting the receiver. Unfortunately the most I really wanted was possibly two mikes, but got the solo first. Now I have to find the receiver, charger, and a single cam. Thanks for the help!
Can it connect so that the screen is facing the vlogger as well as facing the back of the camera?
does this adapter work with Sony A73? it does have a MI shoe but is not listed from the specs for the dji adapter😅
Wow, that's really cool. I would guess the connection between the receiver and camera is digital right? That means you avoid the conversion from digital to analog and back to digital again so the audio should be cleaner too.
It would be cool if DJI could make this for Panasonic hotshoes too and connect like the DMW-XLR1 or DMW-XLR2.
the new canon R5 II, has a hot shoe. Do you know if DJI is going to have an adaptor for the DJI Mic 1 or 2 for the Canon R5 II? Thanks for the video.. Less cables would be nice..
This looks great. I might pick one up.
If you use the mic adapter and you also use a cam mounted shotgun plugged into mic in on the camera what happens?
Thanks for sharing this. I'm trying to find out if I can run my shotgun mic AANNNDD my DJI mic at the same time. Doesn't appear so. I'm new to videography, and trying to eliminate the large lapel mic setup commonly found with Sony camcorders. Does anyone have any tips? Can I use some type of adapter?
Has anyone had issues with very low volume/input in camera when using the hot shoe?? Mine is very low/quiet on my a7siii when using the adapter. Even when I’ve cranked the db on the transmitters and receiver. I can’t figure out how to increase the input to the camera… not an isssue while using the cables
I guess this would only work if you have the DJI Mic 2, I still use the DJI Mic 1.. Has anyone tried connecting it to the DJI Mic 1?
Given that the Sony Multi Interface Shoe supports four channels of 24bit digital audio, it seems like a missed opportunity for the adapter not to include a stereo minijack input, agreed?
Can you have the shot gun and wireless hooked up
What kind of camera are you using??
Almost hit the buy button until I saw "for Sony cameras only". I'm a Canon guy so I'll have to stick with the annoying cable. Oh well.
Is it just me or the auto power off doesn't work with this adapter?
dus not work with sony FX9 but dus work with Sony FX6
Would you be able to use the old Dji mic one as well or no ?? Just for Dji mic 2
Only mic2 from what I understood.
Auto on/off not work with the hot shoe anyone else have this problem?
Can you record in 24bit or only 16bit?
24 bit
Nice!
Does this work with Sony A7R iii?
Does this work with the original dji mic?
Excellent, concise video! Question: if I buy a dji mic 2 could I connect it to my Sony A7iii with an audio cable? So I would not need to buy the adapter. Would my camera recognise the mic 2? (I wouldn't expect it to connect via bluetooth) Tks
@@withersfrance yes standard cable comes with mic 2 setup
Are they going to make Canon one? Thank you
This is a game changer!! Any ideas if this would work with the DJI Mic 1? If they have the same pin system I would hope so but not sure?
Were you able to find out if this works?
Will it work with older model DJI mic?
Will it work with a Sony RX 10 Mk 4?
Would the DJI Mike 2 sounds better at a music concert versus the SONY B1M? Using both products with mikes near me. Thanks.
the issue id have is that it wont fit in the case and is still another process, it would be quicker to plug the cable in then stick this adapter on in my opinion, Ideally they drop a case it fits in attached
Exactly what I thought ! Since the set up doesn't fit into the charging case, it loses its interest imho.
@eclictic3287 dji mic 3 will have it built in! And get rid of that plastic see through colour I don't like
Hello, I have looked everywhere but cannot find the info about whether this adapter
works with the Sony a6000. Would you know Does it work with my camera or just later models? Thanks
It doesn't. A6000 only works with analog hotshoe audio accessories. Sony has both wireless mics and camera mount mics that will work
Hi! Thanks for the informative, and well-produced video!
Does the adapter bypass camera preamps for a cleaner audio signal?
wow I'm jealous...I have the DJI mic 1😓 is it cmpatble with the mic 1 by chance ?
Not compatible
Does it work with a7iii?
Cool, but which Sony Cams are compatible? Only the newer models or back to even the A6000? No info on the DJI website concerning this topic unfortunatly...
Today, I tested the DJI Mic 2 MI shoe on both, Sony FX6 and FX9 cameras. Works great on the FX6, not detected on the FX9. That's too bad. Wondering if it is a Sony or DJI problem and if firmware update is needed on the MI adapter or on the FX9 camera (unlikely to happen).
Can you tell, if the 32-bit audio file is now transfered to the camera or ist it still in the TX only?
Is this only working on certain Sony cameras because my a6400 has MI hot shoe so does my Sony ZV-1 and both say not compatible. Is there a setting in the menu or an update im missing?
I have just bought this and it's cool. But I don't think you can play your shots back and listen through the dji mic 2 headphone output. Which means having to unplug from the receiver and then back into the camera for playback. so I'll always end up with wires on the side and the dorrs gettting in the way of the the screen. wish they had included this functionality.
As asked below: 1) how is the noise floor/sound quality compare to the TRS connection (XLR-H1 is terrible), and 2) can the camera's TRA xonnection bebused simultaneously, allowing for four audio tracks? Thank you!
I think dji is on to something here. When you connect the multi interface shoe on a Sony camera you can unlock 4 channel audio. So if dji would allow the mic 2 to receive 4 transmitter you could have 4 lav mic going straight into the camera without cable with indépendant controls 😮
If only they managed to make it start/stop the recording on the DJI MIC when you start/stop the recording on your camera, it would have been a game changer. Too bad.
This is awesome! Question please Do you know, is there a way to sync the camera with the DJI Mic 2 RX via the Mi adapter so when you press record on the camera, the Mics will also start recording in 32-bit float? I hope that's possible to help streamline the dual recording process.
I need this but I have DJI Mic 1 for work… it will be tricky to get my employer to upgrade to Mic 2 just to get the adapter… I assume this adapter is not backward compatible?
It would be nice if Sony came out with something similar for the top port on the FX6 so you can get Audio/XLR inputs without the top handle
1st like & 1st comment achievements unlocked.. not something you get to do every day
But seriously thanks the review/mni tutorial I guess , it seems pretty soon I''ll relapse into an episode of GAS (Gear Aquisition Syndrome) hehe
finally i can get rìd of a the audio cables bunch on my FX6, i do a lot of 2 people interview with the DJI mic so this a such a saver! Thanks DJI!
does the camera wake up the reciever also? like the TRS cable does. if it doesnt then its a deal breaker for me as I run and gun most of the time and that feature is why I upgraded to the mic 2
Does this only record through the adapter in 24bit? If so, I 'm hoping you can have the TX set to 32bit and have the option to replace after? Cheers!
Panasonic has a digital hotshoe. I hope DJI does this for the Lumix cameras.
I take it that when you're using this DJI adapter that the audio is part of the video recording, and not separate?
zv1-m2에서는 호환이 안됨
I hope adaptors like this come out for all the camera brands smart hot shoe!
That's a great idea. Hope more manufacturer version would come, at least Canon
Another good product from DJI and good review Aldryn.
Is Mic2 system compatible w/video camera set-ups or no?
I'm sure the DJI Mic 3 kit will have this built-in.
Can you post a list of sony cameras that has the wireless feature in it.
thats cool, Does the audio sound the same as with the cable?
So amazing i must order now
Man I wish this worked with the mic 1.
Do you lose quality doing it this way?
Is it compatible to the canon R7?
I hope Rode can make the same adapter!
Is that for sony cameras only?
Hey quick question. Does this adapter work for DJI MIC 1 ?
Does not work
This may be a stupid question. Is there anyway I can use DJI mic 2 from Osmo Pocket 3 with a sony camera (a7 iii)? Or I need to buy a new DJI mic 2 set.
You need the receiver. The Pocket 3 IS the receiver for the Mic 2.
Still weird that DJI part of L-mount alliance is not bringing it out for Sigma, Leica and Lumix cameras 😢
Do they have a digital interface in their hotshoe?
@@TechMediaLifr yes, but every manufacturer has a proprietary connection
Great video Sir! This is super cool bro, and this adapter is a brilliant idea. It's so nice to be able to ditch the cable and keep things clean. Thanks for the info!
Glad you liked it!

has anyone tried connecting the adapter to the first version of the microphone?
Adapter does not fit the DJI Mic 1 receiver
Will it work with first DJI Mics? And will there be version for Canon? Canon also has fast digital interface on their hotshoe
