There is an epidemic in rocket league... no orgs want to get a team. Surely this will not be an issue for RLCS!

Cuz rocket league went to shit when epic bought it
Yeah, it's basically abandonware at this point the way they're treating it. This is what the Fortnite community said ages ago would happen to Rocket League as well. We prayed and coped that wouldn't be true, but the future is here with the prophecy foretold and they've fucked it up for everyone in a lose/lose situation. They fucked up what was basically impossible to fuck up.
@@T3n50r exactly, epic should've never set foot or had a say in rocket league. Scene would be 5x better if they never joined. I was a 7 year player and quit the second season after epic bought it out
They bought an asset for profit
They were shit before epic
@@BayAreaBurner it really wasn't as long as u played w ur brain instead of going for freestyles 24/7 like some ppl ik
It’s just insane because we’ve had the BARE MINIMUM for YEARS and the complaints have been minimal because of how incredible the esport and actual game is. ALL they had to do is NOTHING and it wouldve been better than these changes that ruin the only thing we still had. And EVEN THEN they won’t talk about adding or actually add anything to the actual game after ruining the esport
I stopped watching when they switched to the swiss bracket, because I was no longer able to keep track of who was doing well, especially if I missed some. When everybody just played each other once it was simple and easy to follow.
@@ChristmasMeatEpic is an L Swiss is really good format and not a problem
@@supdawg198 Personally I think swiss is very overrated and I think we have seen its problems highlighted pretty well from the Africa drama. I would like to add I'm not saying the other formats are better or worse, just that all have their own faults and I personally liked the one split for each format type.

epic games just doesnt care for the game anymore especially in the new season today its like they didnt try at all
yeah for the first time in forever i didnt even bother getting the rocket pass even though I get my credits back, theres no world where I would use anything in the pass
yeah the pass sucks except for the goal explosion like the only thing they try on the pass is the last level and thats it
Copium best decals and wheels in a good while even better than some BM ones wth just say you mad for trading but dont lie lol
@drunkenfist3084 ur wrong, only thing Interesting is the goal explosion everything else just looks similar to everything else they have released in past rocket passes

It's sad because I just got back into the game and back into the esport side of it during the end of last season. Waited patiently for this season to start and it's just been bad news after bad news. Wish they would just let the community handle the esports side of the game and let us fund majors through skins and whatnot.
Its wild how Epic fucked the game and esport up. Like literally all they had to do was keep up with the growth of the game with support and servers. But no they kill the esport and that trickles down to the players.
Truthfully, the reason the esport is hurting more is due to the lack of other tournaments/events. everyone compares RL to Counter-Strike for being great but the huge amount of tournaments available for all Tiers of teams and not just S Tier stuff (Blast Premier/IEM etc) look at the slightly lower teams that have the opportunity to play in frequent lower events. having all eggs in the basket purely on RLCS is rough and radiates the "format" issues that we currently face.
im sure many look back at 2019 and the vast amount of different events that were available. thats whats needed to keep orgs, players and the esport thriving
That’s purely because fps games have a bigger market than car football, counter strike balance things to make the game better for everyone where as epic changes everything to drag money out of people’s pocket, cs2 took community feedback massively where as epic listened to the community and still spat in their face, you can’t compare rl to cs because epic don’t care about the game, they only care about the credit cards attached to a account
@@WillMidgeRichards CS is an open Circuit for decades, nothing related to FPS genre. Not a single FPS shines like CS trough time.

Wasn't even mentioned that if teams don't have an org, they have to pay for everything out of pocket, like transportation and accommodation. How expensive would it be to actually attend all LAN events?
Great video.
One thing I wanted to note is that Activision wanting to approve investors is/was likely to avoid fiasco like the TSM FTX debacle
Yea 63k to top 4 EVERYTHING is not only low pay but also unrealistic for 99% of pros even. Then you get the org cut taxs also. Esports need a big shift to give orgs some more power. Seems like pros just drop out of teams and leave and it can leave orgs high and dry.
everything’s over valued anyways
Bro they add old maps but with grass like deadeye canyon💀
I really miss the old series format. I kind of quit watching professional rocket league after they made it all tournaments. The same reason I don`t watch tennis or golf.
I will lose my mind if the RLCS disappears… 😢
it's not going to, Rizzo is just taking advantage of bait headlines
if orgz pay big salaries theyre likely more than the prize pools even if they win so like how do they make a profit
I'm glad he's released this video. So many kids think they're going to play RL full time and actually make a living off of it. You put that time and work ethic into a proper career and you'll be rich with a great job before you're 25.
People need to grow up and get realistic.
Exactly! Spot on! Who in their right mind would want to be a PRO RLCS player, for a living, with the chances of not even making enough money TO LIVE? Only those who really just do it for fun, and not a profession, are going to be competing in RLCS anymore.
when u make peoples money unsafe or increase the risks of their stake being continuous then your will not survive due to all the big money leaving rightfully so, this is true with everything.
I started rocket league 2 years ago. I’ve missed out on so much. Now they game is being killed.
In other sports, the org pays players a scholarship or salary and gets 100% of tournament prize money. And some of the league sets these standards for all member orgs.
Why hasn’t RLCS followed suit?
Orgs are already losing money in esports there isn’t money to make
i feel like the first year epic had rocket league they did all the right things but now after that first year they just hold onto it without making any drastic changes
Franchise teams with a few open slots for open quals or refined RLCS/RS system would be better imo
Holy shit rizzo when u get locked up in that cell? 😂😂😂
Top 4 for 63k…. Feels bad for Faze.
100% agree with you. It's insane how ppl can't understand what you're saying lol
Took me 5 and a half minutes to realize that background was a green screen lmao
I had a rando teammate trash talk me for scoring the OT goal 😆
They need to get tv deal, shit is fun to watch with good commentary.
Would Epic or Rocket League lose money if there was no RLCS? What stake do they have in a pro league? Do more casual players play the game and spend money because of RLCS? Do they get Ad money from RLCS?
the big question is, were is the money supposed to come from in esports?
i think the whole industry has been over valued for a long time. its not like regular team sports.
Ads…👌
The microtransactions within the game. The eSport is supposed to fuel interest in the game, the game tries to tempt them into wasting their money on various nonsense, and then that a proportion of that money is fed into the eSport.
@@Cream147playernone of that is guaranteed income for orgs or teams. Even low tier sports teams have income from ticket sales weekly.
I feel like the whole esports industry has been completely overvalued.
Most organisations have been running at a loss for years.
It comes from the same place as regular sports. Sponsors. Physical sports don't make the majority of their money from ticket sales or anything, it's the sponsors.
I think the flaw in esports is who is in charge. The guys who invented American football are not the ones running the NFL. The fellas who invented basketball are not the ones running the NBA. Video game studios are good at making video games, but they don't know how to run a professional league. I think franchise esport leagues should look into hiring executives from franchise traditional sport leagues, and open format esport leagues should ask for help from open format traditional sport leagues (golf, tennis, etc.)
Crazy how bros streaming from prison 🔥🔥🔥
I want to learn more about this
Rizzo is having fun with his green screen 🤣
I've been in a jail cell that looked just like that.
To augment what rizzo is saying
Someone like LJ wont make 60k a year
In a division 2 soccer league in EU, at least everyone is consistently making div 2 money
Not just the < 5 people in the whole league
Imagine a league where a talent like FirstKiller has to struggle to make 90k
Stay in school boys. We need the next generation to build countries
You should practice what you preach.
@@inmysystem007 I'm 27 years old with a job and funding my own schooling. I've been playing skyRoads on MS-DOS while most of these pros were figuring out which hand to wipe with. Maybe you should stop assuming before I put my foot up your a$$
people online dont understand the game its what happens when you make it a free download nobody wants to invest anything into getting better or teamwork on the most basic levels
realistically I think rlcs 2025 might be the final season and who knows maybe old psyonix devs will leave epic games to form a new car soccer with thrusters game, maybe epic will remake the game to be unreal engine 5 or if nether, a few years down the line old passionate rocket league/SARPBC(gameplay wise) fans will cook up a new car soccer game
Like I see the possibility of rl collapse but the spirit and the idea will probably make it to indie to fill the void if psyonix/epic games won't reboot car soccer
But still, I would be a bit surprise if rocket league died before fall guys, unless epic is very stupid I think epic games should focus on rocket league over fall guys because of value.
perhaps Microsoft should buy Psyonix/RL 🤔
So every team that doesn’t make the first major is out of worlds contention, right? I mean the teams that make it to the major aren’t going to stop playing good in split 2.
god its beyond annoying how chat spams shit that isn't even related to what he's saying..
this question is so simple, they killed our game. epic killed our game.
Rizzo streaming from a prison cell
If players aren't making enough money through prize pools, where are orgs getting most of their money? Advertising?
It's been talked about by Lawler I believe. That organizations are actually running at a deficit.
Merch, in-game decals, advertising, sponsorships, etc. But yes, many many esports organizations are not cashflow positive and are actually bleeding money because esports (even outside of RL) is usually not profitable for the average organization.
@@psilly2326 yeah. I remember seeing a video like that from Lawler. The mathematics of the business model seems problematic. There's got to be a way to make it actually profitable. Maybe they need to pattern it after irl sports. Idk
i was under the impression the pro's in the years of old were making a lot more than 63k lol
the issue with RLCS is epic thinks that the orgs will stick around after hurting them this much
Im confusee i dont see anything wrong with RLCS this season
with teams like Kc and vitality in Eu, why even bother trying when they have the best of the best
I assume most pro sports contracts are equally restrictive.
Also the fact that matchmaking is shit. I used to be diamond and haven't played in 4 years. My gf wanted to play so i got back into it but all i match with is diamonds and Champs. I haven't played in forever so i obviously can't keep up let alone my gf who just started. And to top it off its as toxic as ever in quick chat. It's the reason i left and is even worse now bc i genuinely don't belong with diamond players anymore.
I got a season 14 add on this video 💀
What orgs are leaving?
this is true and you also have to think about the time you spend in to the game vs capital you make let's say top 4 is 60k in a year but let's say those guys play 10 hours + a day thats like 16 dollar an hour playing 10 hours a day grinding
Epic = profit
They have ranked in Fortnite but notice how they barely have a pro scene, epic don’t want to pay millions out of their billions profit, we saw that with the trading and changes to loot boxes to blueprints, as soon as epic brought rocket league and mentioned nothing about their plans we should have known the whole thing would become a walking cash cow
I think it's fine if regular players formed their own teams and competed for a million+ prize pool. That feels way better than elite professionals IMO.... The best will still want to play for the championship etc., you just woulnd't have people paid to become the best.
The ONLY argument against is really the claim that we wouldn't see good players bubble up without somebody paying their bills... but that's silly. Most good players bubble up as literally children these days.
As soon as life starts to get serious you can't afford to grind a game that much without being paid. Simple as that. Either this becomes a free time, grind esport where the skill level will decrease a lot, or people are paid like now. If you are on your way to college, no one cares about your Rocket League success. So either you are in safe hands and being paid or your have spent more time on school because you need good grades to actually ensure a safe future for yourself. While it might sound nice to have no professional orgs the esport itself is not sustainable this way. Neither for epic, sponsors nor the players.
@homelabsmart7635 that's fine though... pros retire at like 20 lol
It also imparts an unfair advantage that some players are paid to do nothing but grind rocket league and others have to somehow breakthrough that barrier.
It's probably a lot healthier without orgs.
I predicted this was goin to happen as soon as the blast partnership and the money reduction and the fewer events announcement. Epic just needs to kill this game and shut off their servers, would be better for all our lives anyway.
Weird ahh dude just leave the game
First it was activision taking non stop Ls now Epic… I mean where did we go wrong
Only 200k now is crazy, epic ceo really sucks man
I can't believe what epic has done to this game.
$400 for six weeks? Better have a couple side gigs going on to survive nowadays
Bring back league play with RLRS
Just wait for the reset, epic is fucking it up but as things change it will grow and adapt, when esports kinda resets and goes back to its grass roots more orgs will pop up
The whole model is unsustainable. Esports isnt popular enough and orgs are basically gambling on players reaching those top 4 positions.
Am I missing something, or is Rizzo in jail without a toilet in the background?
Between the game not being what it was and the constant struggle with teammates the game is just going in the toilet. The biggest reason i see the game is loosing players is the toxic players themselves. Ranked is just garbage. You join a lobby and either your teammate just sits there and does nothing, they immediately start raging on their own teammates or rage quite and leave you by yourself. The majority of rocket league players are trash. Not necessarily at the game but just at life itself.
To be fair, if someone would figure out how to centralize and schedule the games things might be different. Having 7 different channels streaming different games at the exact same time is ridiculous. Had to stop watching because too much was going on it once and then be confused the next day when I never knew Any of the other teams that are playing now. It's stupid.
60K a year is amazing for playing video games
I don't feel bad for the Orgs, because most of them propped themselves up on cryto deals that were dodgy , which have now collapsed. that's why esports all round not just rocket league is shrinking.
best case scenario:200k
secondish best scenario:63k
worst case scenario:400 dollars
and you had to invest upwards of 60 hours a week and you're still reliant on other peoples capabilities as well, additionally the skills you aquire in pursuit of this job doesnt translate to any other games let alone careers. so you work like a salaried middle manager or above except you risk basically not getting paid for the year.
This is the first time I am happy I never got into a game. Was me never getting into Rocket League a great thing?
Such a good video
To be fair it’s a video game
Epic just wants to cash out on RL. I loved watching moist but they're making it impossible to be worth it.
Next rlcs plats vs diamond
the writing is on the wall
60k a year, between 3 or 4 kids , minus travel and accommodation expenses, tax...
The 60k was estimated per person.
Always have a financial back up plan kids.
Tying the game to fortnite is what killed it for me. You cant make one game shittier to make the other one better especially when they didn't even need it
Epic removed trading. So the people remove RL. Easy as that.
I play wayyy less since trading removal (even tho I never traded, but I liked having the option to turn my items into 100$ if I ever break my arm or whatever). Queue times are at an all time low, I mostly play at night and sometimes I cant even find a casual 2v2 match for a few minutes.
Boycot Epic & the item shop, dont pay real money. Keep playing RL so they see the players are still active.
i really believe that this game will last for a very long time, and it really shows that when things go to shit and people still play. It’s really taking a lot to push players away
Look at the oce and apac teams soo much less
5:10 it's weird seeing you grow up, I mean I'm growing up too I'm only 30. But life skills are valuable and I want my kid to have them... Even if he can win 61k a year playing RL. I love RL and wish I made a living doing it lol but HVAC pays pretty good and I can install my own air conditioning system while buying the equipment cheaper than most anyone else could. 🤷 Life skills
Bro what’re you in prison? Wtf is that room?
Top 4 does not mean 4th place. I don't get why this is such a popular term to use. "Top 6", no mf you got 6th, top 6 is a range of 1st-6th. If you get at least top 4 and average over all positions 1st-4th over the season you'd make more than 62k but still probably not enough given the risk to make a lot less if you miss that mark entirely.
60k is so much for gaming. It's middle class. most Americans are under that. Median household income where I am is 34000. So doubling the median income for not winning seems like a pretty sweet deal to me.
yeah, only 6 players can achieve that, out of the thousands of pros 👍 👍👍👍
A middle class income for being the best in the world at your job is terrible pay. And if you arent the best you get $400... thats a terrible gig
Constantly top1, no idea what is blud yapping
I can tell you that as a 35yo adult, $63k/yr wouldn't cover me. And the $63k/yr in earnings as a player doesn't include covering the travel expenses of going to events or take into account income tax. after taxes and travels I bet you gross like $25k/yr. (there would be some take deductions around the travel expenses so maybe a little higher but not much)
Funny how often bad changes are made to newly acquired properties. It's like they'd rather have ANY idea of theirs' executed just so it can have their name on it or something. After all, if you aren't ruining someone else's great work, you aren't a big old money man with ideas. Fuck art and community. What about the money, cocaine, and boats owned by old men that I want to be MY dad?
you also gotta realise alot of orgs arent profitable.
You know epic bought it to bring more to Fortnite
Did Athena put you in jail?!? What is this background?
Bro are you in jail…
this is all epics fault for not being innovative when it comes to new ideas for it, the seasons are repetitive the skin bundles are all the same, they took trading away to hog more of the money without actually making it where both sides win, so pretty much epic is letting rocket league stale out
How tf does raid shadow legends make money fr
which esports league is actually doing well right now curious
Its a fair point as all of gaming in general is struggling, however I dont think that takes away the damage that has been self-inflicted by epic and they still should be called out for the years of neglect that they have shown the game.
@@ReiReiWood 100% epic fucked the game i quit abt 4 months ago now for higher ranked players theres nothing except grinding for pro which not worth it for one and two 97% of these top players have almost no shot lol
