The new physics are a low point for me. I like some of it but the understeer feels far too excessive with some cars and ABS doesn't ABS anymore. Playing with a controller it is so much more unforgiving that it can be really unenjoyable.
I remember when I got my PS5 and bought GT7. The first online race I did was where you could bring your own Nissan with a certain max. PP. I never saw that ever again since then. It was very fun!
Old Supergt GT sport videos still show up on my home feed and it strikes me (as someone who doesn't play GT) that there's no longer any fuel saving aspect to these GT7 races. That's one layer of strategy gone
Has anyone else noticed there are some road cars, even completely stock, that since 1.49 now have horrible snap oversteer when braking while cornering, such as turns 1 and 2 at Suzuka? It feels like GT1's braking physics. The worst offender I've found is the Z16A, it's actually undrivable. Shame since it was the first semi-fast car I picked up in GT7. I finally got the setup to where it's useable, but it took a lot of effort and the final setup is goofy af and makes no sense in real life. Others I've found like this are the '03 and '09 Audi TTs, and the '05 Mini Cooper. If my real life Cooper handled like that I'd be terrified to drive it and would've sold it for chump change on craigslist already. Hate this broken physics update. Wish they would revert back and wait until they fix it properly for every car.
I only get horrible snap oversteer when I try to apply too much power coming out of turns 1 and 2. If I brake hard without much trail braking, it's usually an understeer situation. But with proper trail braking, the cars actually feel more realistic IMO.
When I first drove the Honda car on the new time trial, I restarted my wheel because I thought something was wrong with it. There's almost zero feedback with it.
I guess you're TommiH83, considering he's the only one getting punted by Steve in the video, in which case I seriously wonder where you even take the audacity to complain, after driving full throttle into him first.
Not to mention the wall ride he gave someone else before that, watch the start , you get a get view of him greasing someone right in front of Steve. First or second turn from start.
Here is a force feedback test for you: Turn every adjustment OFF except for FF (force feedback) and give it a try. I did this with the CSL Elite and I don't think they are sending signals to the FF parameter. Doesn't matter what settings you have in game, it has no feel at all. Thinking they are relying upon some of the support parameters to mimic force feedback.
GT7 has so much potential with such a large platform and faithful player base , but unfortunately personally I’ve been driven to other simulators after this update
I've never played GT online because it just doesn't look appealing. I would love to see something like iRacing, lots of options with lots of car + track variations, also some online endurances with driver swaps and everything. 3 races per week just doesn't seem enough.
The physics are terrible on most cars now. GR4 is the only bunch of cars that feel good but not the MR cars. Also absolutely no feel for the rear tires
Its frustrating they can't nail the tyre model, especially with slip angle and yaw. They just seem too reactive and front end grip is too high so you need to correct on steering wheels as quick as you'd be able to on a controller.
I just drove a nissan silvia in the weekly challenges, and the front end grip was unreal. Going through a hairpin barely felt like a turn because the car just rotated with absolutely no struggle.
@matttondr9282 well you'd be surprised how easily a car will do that in real life especially with good tyres the old model would understeer turning a small corner at 50 I could turn that corner in real life at 50 with my passat that has the baldest tyres youll ever see
@eoinm5758 I think you are right, sometimes in game in tuned cars I get less grip/turn in than a regular street car on naff tyres in real life, the trouble for polyphony I guess, is there are sooooo soooo many variables to get right at once, different vehicles multiplied by different tuning parts multiplied by different setups, multiplied by many different wheel and pedals available plus controller, still further variables are different tracks in different climates etc the list goes on. Unfortunately I haven't had my sim rig up since before 1.49, I was soo excited to get it back out and try the new physics, at first I had issues on the controller but soon was quite well adjusted and thinking man it feels like there's more suspension and tyre activity modelled into the driving I bet this would feel great with the sim rig, and now I hear they've killed FFB 😢
@@eoinm5758 Understeer is okay to some degree as you can just reduce throttle and return the steering to the centre to correct. But the oversteer is where I struggle, it's just not right. Most of the vehicles just once correcting oversteer just yaw back way too quickly and you end up rotating on yourself, Regardless of your throttle modulation and steering input.
I think it's pretty obvious for Polyphony to give the Honda CS tires. Even the racing tires in the 60s were basically like driving on slightly melted ice
The perfect format would be A: street car race or something similar (unserious in a sense) B: Gt 2/3/4 with short distance so it's a straight on battle C: Long distance with pit stops, weather change, day to night etc I feel like GT Sport went with this format or something similiar atleast
I've just gotta say, comfort tires are meant to smooth out the driving process. In real life, I've had tires that make turning the vehicle a chore, and I've had to tires that make it effortless. The tires that were a chore made turning difficult enough that we were certain there was something wrong with the power steering. So, the tire updates to force feedback is actually done to achieve a more realistic feel. That said, its still a game..and you should be able to crank the settings and make it feel how you want to feel..but then again, i think that is the part of point of the comfort tires. Being featured in a daily race is likely just to display this realistic update to the tire feel..and its just something we'll all have to deal with.
okay so it’s not just me… first thing I said when trying the new update was the physics actually feel really good, but the FFB has actually become the worse FFB I’ve personally experienced… and I’ve played f1 2016 and forza 6 back on a pretty standard belt driven wheel
Track and car combo is actually perfect. The 60s open wheelers used to race on such roads but I agree that if it was around 30% longer with a mendatory pit stop it would make things more interesting... the race would hold more weight n substance.

Daily Race B this week was actually my first Daily Race win ever in the AMG (on Mt second try. Accidentally threw myself out of turn 1 on my first attempt)
I'm conflicted with this race. I had some great racing the other night here, but there's a a lot of things that hold this back from being a great Daily Race C. 😩
You are 100% correct, the torque scaling in the game is broken and its a GT7 issue. Nothing to do with the wheel. Its better with the new update but its missing a lot of feel still and I cannot race properly and competitively like this. I suspect with the PSVR2 adapter arriving tomorrow will mean I will move away from GT7 as each update just makes playing on wheel worse.
It was actually one of the best combos for Daily Race and I hope it returns soon (or at least with other classic race cars). Way more fun than racing GT3/GT4 for the millionth time.
I dont find this race overly bad but it needs to be longer. I felt like bathurst nailed it last week. Good mix of cars that worked on a challenging but rewarding track.
There's a distinct lack of feedback in all wheels after the update. I have stopped playing entirely as the feedback on my 8nm DD pro feels like nothing whatsoever. If it's bad for supper gt on his 20nm wheel, just imagine how sucky it is for everyone else. Honestly do not understand polyphony. I understand changing the feedback model, but why set the overall force to 5% of what it was before? The game is unplayable for me until they fix it.
The ffb is like that on most high downforce cars Merc C9, Superformula, F1500 and many more its terrible as its extremely heavy on high speed but non existence on corners
C'mon man. There's a bunch of boring FIA homologated tracks in the game, already. Let's keep alive the Touge spirit for those who need this kind of fix. There are very few of it in the game.
There have been plenty of complaints about the tyres but no one seems to have considered that the comfort softs have been chosen to mimic period rubber. Whether it does that effectively or not is another matter entirely, but it at least is a logical reason. Certainly more logical than fitting racing slick soft tyres to a period vehicle.
ever since 1.49 my G pro DD have really bad oscillation problems (violently turning left and right by itself) and i’ve tried everything to fix it but the only real fix is to turn FFB strength and sensitivity down to 1 giving me no feedback in general even on RS tires 😢
Something's ive said forever. All the daily races are focused on gt4 and gt3 card but they rarely actually add those cars. And if they do they're like.. very out of date cars. I'm not saying they have to only add racecars. But if you're going to have gt3 and gt4 daily Races 90% then add more cars.
Same the only time I enjoy driving is on the dirt and snow literally hated that aspect now I enjoy it and hate some cars on some tracks like I hope we get another update as this shit does suck a lot it was perfect before
@7:22 you pulled a total George Russell- you can see on the radar how you got alongside the guy, squeezed him into the wall and then complained that he just turned straight into you as he bounces off it and back into your car 🙄
the weirdest thing to me is that '65 f1 car appears to drive like a modern car. those should like a TON of slip angle, but it just looks like it understeers a ton and the rear is planted like its on modern slicks.
After a month break I jumped back into a race last night and went with race B. Didn't qualify, and got 3rd at the end. I wasn't fast or anything, just consistent. I'm still new to sport (i mostly just play single player) so my rating is still D. First few corners were quite funny due to the carnage. Went through like 4 or 5 ghosts and then a chorus of 5 cars went off at the 2 sharp right handers lol. At the end, 4th place caught up and tried to dive bomb past me on 130R and forgot to brake and flew off track - i enjoyed that.
Ahh so I'm not crazy! I just got a wheel last week and thought it was super weird how uh.. limp some of these cars felt regardless of settings. What I love the most is when I have to actually flex to turn the wheel on racecars and feel that tremendous grip and strength HNNNNGGGG
So for the experienced GT racer are the new physics more life like racing or did they really mess it up and can you compensate for the new physics in the settings?
Thanks for video. For me the major problem is the lack of Force feedback. Even when I grabbed the controller, it is lacking their as well. Usually you can feel so much in the controller. I don't have a Top tier Wheel. Just the Logitech 923, but it is good for me, or was until this update. I can adjust to the new physics, but I really need the FFB, without I will never get back to where I was. Very disappointed.
I've never been too deep into settings, but after the update, driving the NSX in SPA is the most fun I've had in this game so fun. The new physics for me feel way more realistic that before. But again, I'm far from being a pro, just a enthusiastic petrolhead
I think my fav daily race has been when they give you the tuned street cars I really enjoy that combo the new physics are basically only good for racing tires
This has been the case since 1.49 with the force feedback being weaker and weaker the less grippy the tyres you use. Some cars on comfort softs can feel very vague but want to rip your arms off on racing softs.
This race was awesome on a controller. Wheel not so much. Many road cars have meh wheel feedback now and even on controller it’s been reduced. GT3 cars and (GT2 only tested the CLK) felt good on controller and wheel. Okay the CLK was on controller 😅 not sure about wheel.
I enjoy the race because i like the track and its a unuiqe driving experience with this car. When it comes to ffb i never noticed a difference but im also driving with a 180 dollar wheel
ive been subscribed for years waiting to see the mythical 'ceremonious punt' but alas another day another upload and behold; the 'unceremonious punt' makes its appearance yet again
I don't think they have got it quite right but i think i know why they have done it. I just took a 23 formula car down route x on softs. Its extremely light at low speeds but increases dramatically at high speeds. Pretty sure it was similar at all speeds before. Anyway, they have added more road texture and bump affects, i can guarantee that as i have SIMHUB with baseshakers on my rig and I've had to turn those affects down a lot.. obviously say something like a sausage curb is going to pull your steering more st low speed than skipping over it at high speed so it may have been done for safety as it would wrench your arms round.. but yes they have over reduced it. There is also more affect of weight shift, they haven't only chsnged the car set ups as people think.. i get a load of vibration by just letting off which i never had, it was only there under braking before.. so understeer some people are getting is harsh braking and the old over downshifts people always used for rotation. Now they can over load the front wheels as all the weight has flown forward. Everything has to be a little more subtle now..

I was referring to the live stream the other day while he was driving daily race c lol.
GET OUT OF THERE LEWIS
What rage quit? He finished every race in this video...?
@@D34dP1x3l I'm talking about the Livestream a few days ago.
Yes, absolutely. A few road cars specifically have been trashed by this. Stock, from the dealer, they are all over the place.
When I first drove the Honda car on the new time trial, I restarted my wheel because I thought something was wrong with it. There's almost zero feedback with it.
Thanks for that wall ride mate. I don't know what I done to deserve that but anyway
He loves to pretend to be cleaner and fairer than he is.
@@GraveUypo Everybody likes to think they are the good guy, lol.
@@GraveUypono
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Wish they’d admit they were wrong and revert to the old physics.
Caught that last race live. Its such a different experience seeing things play out in real-time. A lot learned watching someone faster than myself
GT7 has so much potential with such a large platform and faithful player base , but unfortunately personally I’ve been driven to other simulators after this update
GT7 is not a real sim, its physics always was a bit arcade like.
@@macmurdock77it's a simcade but after the update it became almost impossible to drive
I've never played GT online because it just doesn't look appealing. I would love to see something like iRacing, lots of options with lots of car + track variations, also some online endurances with driver swaps and everything. 3 races per week just doesn't seem enough.
My G29 FFB is really dead after this update, some car is undrivable, waiting for them to fix the weird ffb issue.😢
Same here. Been saying this since 1.49 rolled out
Whats odd is I have g29 and I feel a bit more than before. Like the curbs you feel every little bump
I have G29 and a Fanatec and they're both dead on GT7
Buy acc g29 feels great on it.
g29. there’s something strange for sure
Oh wow I just finished this race and was surprised by the lack of force feedback. Turns out it wasn't my wheel
@matttondr9282 well you'd be surprised how easily a car will do that in real life especially with good tyres the old model would understeer turning a small corner at 50 I could turn that corner in real life at 50 with my passat that has the baldest tyres youll ever see
@@eoinm5758you sound like a fool with your bald ass tires. Way to put people in danger because you’re cheap
GT7 had lost me to acc simgrid bur these changes brought me back and this weeks race C has been a blast!
Glad you higlighted the wheel issues with the fanatec wheels. Been driving me mental
The GT community are lucky to have you calling out Polyphony, I hope someones listening.
I'm so bummed they did the tiny Eiger Nordwand. The full length and mixed surfaces tracks were goated.
I think it's pretty obvious for Polyphony to give the Honda CS tires. Even the racing tires in the 60s were basically like driving on slightly melted ice
The perfect format would be
A: street car race or something similar (unserious in a sense)
B: Gt 2/3/4 with short distance so it's a straight on battle
C: Long distance with pit stops, weather change, day to night etc
I feel like GT Sport went with this format or something similiar atleast
15:35 "he's gonna turn left into turn 2 which is the wrong direction"
17:23 "four wheels on the gravel and that is not the correct line"
Once again Super GT is my font of racing knowledge and experience I don't know where I'd be without you 🙏
Daily Race B this week was actually my first Daily Race win ever in the AMG (on Mt second try. Accidentally threw myself out of turn 1 on my first attempt)
What I’m sick of is no report system driver rating/safety ratings make no sense and penalties might be the worst I’ve ever seen
I'm conflicted with this race. I had some great racing the other night here, but there's a a lot of things that hold this back from being a great Daily Race C. 😩
As someone who stopped at GT4: What the actual fu** is this convoluted mess. What happened to buying used cars tune them and do races?
now you buy new cars.. and race
I noticed the same issue with my DD1. Was going crazy over it but I'm glad that you have the same issue, this way I know it's software related
I actually loved this race. could be racing hard tires but I loved the feeling. VR felt even better.
15:08 "I knew he had a wife and kids at home"
The ffb is like that on most high downforce cars Merc C9, Superformula, F1500 and many more its terrible as its extremely heavy on high speed but non existence on corners
WTC800 at Sardines with a McLaren MP4 with lowest aero, there is little to no force feedback.
I personally hate the Eiger Norwand track. It’s just too vertical and you never feel like you can trust your car and the tire adhesion.
Agreed. Give us Apricot Hill back.
C'mon man. There's a bunch of boring FIA homologated tracks in the game, already. Let's keep alive the Touge spirit for those who need this kind of fix. There are very few of it in the game.
better real tracks like montreal, imola...
This race does give me Ferrari challenge the f1 version vibes. Classic car on a classic style track.
Sounds like a QA testing session for polyphonic and their new physics
Something's ive said forever. All the daily races are focused on gt4 and gt3 card but they rarely actually add those cars. And if they do they're like.. very out of date cars. I'm not saying they have to only add racecars. But if you're going to have gt3 and gt4 daily Races 90% then add more cars.
For me, the new physics are not much of an improvement. Actually, I liked playing the game more before the update, espcially on controller.
Same the only time I enjoy driving is on the dirt and snow literally hated that aspect now I enjoy it and hate some cars on some tracks like I hope we get another update as this shit does suck a lot it was perfect before
All they needed to do for this race is add 3 laps, and require a mandatory drive-thru of the pits.
"The guy on the Lambo is going to CONTINUE turning left, and finding himself into a wall" _ that made me laugh 😆
i would love to see a monthly (or weekly) endurance race included to compliment the weekly race rotation
*opponent goes into the gravel* “that is not the correct line” Lolol no kidding! Hahaha
There is a definite lack of weight and force feedback in lower end cars or cars on sport or less tires
@7:22 you pulled a total George Russell- you can see on the radar how you got alongside the guy, squeezed him into the wall and then complained that he just turned straight into you as he bounces off it and back into your car 🙄
More like a max verstappen
Hey SuperGT. PD have adjusted each cars brake balance. So just move it a couple of clicks forward to re-balance the cars !.
I mean, obviously they went with comfort sports as they are probably the closest equivalent to racing tyres of that era
Very Fitting !😂😂😂 6:43
the weirdest thing to me is that '65 f1 car appears to drive like a modern car. those should like a TON of slip angle, but it just looks like it understeers a ton and the rear is planted like its on modern slicks.
Oh shit, I thought my wheel was broken!
Thank you. Always great content. My biggest disappointment is the lack of force feedback from Fanatec wheel after this last update (1.49)
8:40 What kind of Italian aims for a car with a Ferrari livery, I bet Arc is the kind of traitor to have pineapple on pizza
😂😂
Nothing wrong with pineapple on pizza
I feel like when playing with controller the game feels more harder than before idk maybe its just me idk
I’ve had some great races, it’s so hard the numpties don’t seem to be bothering. It could be longer, but it spreads out quickly.
Even the SF23 with RS feels like it has very little FFB. CSL DD wheel on max settings.
Would you say the new physics on gr3/gr4 cars are closer to your real life experience in gt cars?
This has been the case since 1.49 with the force feedback being weaker and weaker the less grippy the tyres you use. Some cars on comfort softs can feel very vague but want to rip your arms off on racing softs.
This race was awesome on a controller. Wheel not so much. Many road cars have meh wheel feedback now and even on controller it’s been reduced. GT3 cars and (GT2 only tested the CLK) felt good on controller and wheel. Okay the CLK was on controller 😅 not sure about wheel.
oh damn.. ive actually been looking forward to the next race featuring this legendary f1 beast..
It would be excellent if there were penalties for people who drive like assholes.
I don’t play online so joke is on them.
PD forgot they only put the short version of Eiger Nordwand into the game and thought this would be a banger
Polyfony is on vacation... He's an intern who is organizing the daily schedule
