Kudos to a driver named "DiveBomber93" for being so clean. While it was cool to see the overcut attempted, I think the lap 2 undercut is what the BMW needed to win.
maybe but if so he switched very quickly i am wondering if maybe he was having a conversation with someone and got distracted happened to me but luckily i was playing motorsport which has been for forgiving to me with penalties.
I really like the presentation of this video cutting between 3 different cars. It makes it feel like a broadcast verses just live streaming a race. And as a video editor myself I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to cut and splice all the frames into one fluid timeline. Well done! Would like to see more of this type of presentation in the future!
Amazing video. All the picture in picture, tyre comparison and pov changes were great, not to mention being able to watch the entire race without cuts. This is one your best videos so far imo.
@@Godric_71My cat is fascinated with my Playstation, no matter where she is she hears the beep and comes hauling ass in and just stares at it for a few seconds.
This was the most exciting race I have watched in a long time. The drama! The editing! The commentary! Everything was spot on! 😘 Another great race, another great video, Cheers Steve! 🥂
The reason the BMW was keeping up with you and, perhaps even quicker, is because there was a lot of corners you were missing the apex while the BMW driver was hitting that apex and exiting the corner faster. It is obvious if you watch your car from the BMW point of view. Regardless, great racing to both of you!!!
My most amount of penalties was 45 secondes on Le mans, I didn't change tiers at the beginning of the rain and kept going out adding more and more penalties as the turn went on
Ahem, Laguna Seca GR4 was quite good cause everyone was like “G70 is the meta use it or you’ll lose”….i used an Alfa155 and pulled away and won. Mind you it was a High C lobby with tons of deaths behind me.
Honestly, the lead did the same thing I do sometimes which is let the pressure get to him. I’ll have an incredible first lap, but become too focused on recreating what I did, which opens me up to mistakes.
I've definately had what happened to the leader occur to me as well. Running well after the first lap and then making a painful mistake, Got Frustrated and for the rest of the race the mistakes just kept piling up (as did a some penalties). Sometimes its so easy to fixate on that one mistake you made and then it just becomes a vicious cycle of you getting it in your head, making another and just repeating it. For so long I never knew what "Get out of your head" meant (Heard a coach tell that to one of his players once in High School) but so many years later now hearing said to other drivers as well, it makes so much sense. As for Penalties, most I've gotten in one lap is 5 seconds (which is amazing considering the amount of races, including all the dreadful ones, that I have competed in) and ironically, it happened 5 times. Funny thing is, I've lost more positions whenever I've gotten 1 or 2 second penalties (Most I lost was 8 in one lap) then I have with 5 second penalties (Which was at most, just 2).
Absolutely loved this video! Sure, I watch every video you make, but this one... The race in itself was on point, the highlighting the strategy difference via picture-in-picture and the whole F1-style (where they show crucial moments in the similar format) was on point - everything was just 👌 Keep it up, Steve :)
Props to you of course and the BMW smart move knowing that he would’ve 100% gave up his position if he changed tires but at least he fought in p1 until the very end. Bold move but done greatly
Focus is everything in both Sim and real racing. I did the Laguna Seca daily race an hour ago, started P5 slower on pace than the leader and equal with P2-4. I won just beacause I waited for everyone to crash, fight or get a penalty. But I've been on the other end as well. In rental karting I've always been quicker than some other guys I was racing on my local karting track. But only over a couple laps or in quali. Then I made some minor mistakes which cost you about quarter or half a second. Didn't cost me wins or podiums because there were always a handfull dudes who were just driving every day and could destroy almost anyone on this circuit, but I could have finished a lot of these races inside the top half of the field if not for these brain farts or sudden losses of talent.
Ahh what a track, I remember when this daily came I was awful on the first day but once I understood the track it become one of my favourites, brilliant track.
frustration i would think, cursing himself for the first mistake then it goes from bad to worse! it proves you must "HAVE 💯% CONCENTRATION" if you want to be good at SIM racing, learn from your mistakes, great video as always Steve 👍👍👍
Maybe his steering wheel unclipped. This happens to my mate often whilst we play and similar sort of thing happens as u suddenly lose control then have to try tighten down ur wheel again
I would say that the fact you were not gaining on the BMW for that first lap after you pit shows that while he could not get past you before that you were holding him up and had he started ahead of you he would have pulled away.
Interesting that the BMW driver didn't park on the inside line down the straight on the last lap and at least make you have to go the long way round. Kudos to him though, really clean race and some great driving
the first leader missed the slight little left corner cause he thought he should turn right. if you drive without assistance and you haven't had a race on this track for a while, bet it might happen to me too. especially when i scroll through the MFD and can't maintain attention to the road
Seems like P1 was using a gamepad after the first lap. His movements are jerky. Maybe has something to do with his wheel malfunctioning at some point and quickly switched to a handheld controller/gamepad.
Hey SupetGT new viewer here. Last night I just had an insane 1st place battle in Race C which is comparable to this one. Dude ended up taking the lead and winning it but I gave him a good run for his money. Not sure if you do viewer replays but I think it'd be a good watch. I'm a relatively new GT7 player as well and I think it'd be cool if you could give me some feed back on the race and give me some pointers as well. I've been watching your videos and already learned a few things from them. Thanks for teaching me and hopefully I can get good enough to see you in a race someday. Lemme know what you think about reviewing my race and if not then no harm no foul. Hope you have a good day much love
Sometimes when am having a terrible race and when there is those stupid 1.5 sec penaltis for wall collisions i like to smash myself continiously against a wall until the game don't let me do it no more 😂
Amazing tactical race well done! Ps This is by far the worst week of daily races ever. It's interesting because these were the exact combos of a couple of months ago and still they weren't so popular then. I wonder if the guy that selects the combos at PD for the dailies is drunk or what
Today I got like a 3 secs for exiting the pit lane some type of way incorrectly lol and a few more later in the same lap and still one cause I was locked in after that and we all and to drive slow because of the rain on the lap. Had to be close to 10 secs in penalties though smh
Steve didn't fall off. He just hit a hiccup. How many people get to lap a real race car on a legit team? Leave a like. This guy deserves it for all the dedication he has put in over the years.
I drove 1h spa the race was dry's to wet's and back to dry's. And i went too early back to dry's so i went wide and when i got back on the track i have gotten a 22 second penalty
Help me understand this, why is the third person camera view looks like a mobile game in GT? While in Forza, it is perfect. And I'm not a fanboy, I'd really like to try the game, but since I enjoy racing in third person view, I'm still hesitating.
his steering looked a little snappy after the incident, I wonder if he had a steering wheel failure and needed to quickly switch to a game pad? loosing the smoothness.
I think his little brother screamed and cried that he couldn't play and they changed seats right before the first corner lol
🤣
relatable
Exactly my thoughts!
I was thinking more bj climax
Kudos to a driver named "DiveBomber93" for being so clean. While it was cool to see the overcut attempted, I think the lap 2 undercut is what the BMW needed to win.
And also for not living up to his name and going for a divebomb after being overtaken on the final lap.
Exactly, it was a good attempt but they lost way too much time behind the supra and couldn't save the tires quite enough to make it work.
You say DiveBomber93 like he is a professional 😅
Good job putting in the "Picture in Picture" so we can track the BMW's lap. Please keep this in future videos.
Agreed

Respect for the BMW driver, that was some real solid driving!
