I DEFINITELY don't have that laptop anymore, and have been using an X1 Carbon with a FHD HDR screen and 15.5 hours of battery life lol. Had it for 2.5 years now, it's a BEAST of a laptop, so happy I upgraded from that Asus lmao

Yup, xiaomi makes great devices at an affordable price. The only downside is the warranty. Have to ship it if something broke. Got no service centers near me. Their phones are cheap enough to even bother with the warranty. But a thousand dollars is... That's the only thing keeping me from getting one.

1080p is perfect for a laptop of that size. It's a nice balance of not needing a lot of battery killing power draw for the graphics/cooling and lighting the screen while still looking good. I always laugh at laptops with 4k screens, cause although they would look nice, they perform poorly and battery life tend to suck.
For who's wondering, no, you won't need a new windows licence. Make a hottable.usb with windows 10, install home, and you're good to go. Your don't even need to insert a product key and even if required, can be red from the bios with tools like Produkey.
Damn, those internals do look very neatly tucked and amazing. Better than some 'newer' 'western' laptops on the market.

reinstalling windows doesn't remove the actuvation, I've done it many times on my laptop and it said "Windows activated through digital license with your account". Maybe he didn't install the right version? (Pro or Home)

I bought this a few months ago, arrived three days ago and I am more than pleased! I just installed Windows 10 using an external USB and followed the instructions of a RUclips video. The only thing that is a bit weird is that the uppermost part of my trackpad doesn't click, but I mostly use tapping gestures or a mouse a anyway. The screen is not as bad as it sounds as it seems perfectly fine to me. Gaming wise, I have been playing overwatch at 720p medium resolution and everything looks great. It is not required to buy a new Windows Key. You can easily extract the windows key from the system and re-install an english single language version with the same chinese key and have a legal windows 10 version for 'free'. It's a fantastic notebook for the money. I only paid 770 euros (880 USD) which is an absolute steal for a design notebook with these specs.
I ordered one the other day and still waiting for it. I'm still skeptical of reinstalling Windows instead of buying a new license key because I'm not so sure about the process. But if I'll be able to save the money instead it would be better. Can you show me a link how to do it cause I've seen an article in a forum that it didn't work out right for them. It's still giving them an error so they still ended up buying a new license. Your help will be much appreciated.
cholex08 Look up the video that Lisa from MobileTechReview did on the Mi Notebook Pro. She outlined how to make a clean windows install with a usb flash drive. She also swears she did not have to purchase a new license...
there are a couple of youtube videos online. But it is basically:
1. Find your windows key on your machine by using a software application
2. reinstall windows 10 the regular way by USB flash drive (really straight forward)
3. select single language windows 10 ---> english
4. all done and enjoy your notebook.
No reason to buy a new windows key.

So i got this version of the laptop (2017) i know there are new versions by now but i gota say its been a good maschine excellent i would say. The only problem si that one of the fans makes a ratteling noise but it isnt that bad just a litle distracting. Would buy again tho

I think you actually have to activate windows even if you used a legit serial key. Pretty sure it's a required step after a fresh install even with legitimate licenses.

I still can install a german, turkish and russian version of windows and use my current key to legitimize my windows 10 pro.

CodyMetal my xiaomi note 4x gets around 12hours active use (or 3 days) incredible coming from Sony z3 Which lasted me 1 and ½ days I forget to charge it most days untill it's dead though which is a problem haha
