As a tech reviewer you should know the diff between 16:9, 16:10 and 4:3. 16:9 is for media. 16:10 is the center point and 4:3 is for coding/working etc. As evident in the video (which the reviewer stated incorrectly) 16:9 DOESN'T show black bars on Netflix. 16:10 and 4:3 would show them, with the latter having the largest bars.
It's a good start for Xiaomi but as a programmer , dedicated keys for home, end and pgup, pgdn become very important. Not the shared ones with arrow keys. Currently using asus g14 and the absence of these keys do impact productivity a lot.

They should not be allowed to get away with it. This is not a phone or a tablet where you toss the thing out and get a new one when your ram goes bad. I genuinely feel we should ditch any company that goes this route because the only rational behind this decission in money making. Why else would they solder ram on motherboards?
For media please prefer 16:9 screens and not 16:10 screen as told in the video and stop complaining about 720p webcam in laptops in this price range, rather complain about this in costlier models.

Acer aspire 7 with 1650 & Ryzen 5 5500U would be better choice for 52-55k because the random access memory & storage is upgradeable. But the thing is it is a acer laptop so ..
So what exactly? Acer provides doorstep service in Kolkata. I own an Acer for the past 5 years and the laptop runs atleast 14 hours everyday. I never had any problems with hardware. The hinge broke after 3years, and took me only Rs500 to fix. I had 3 years extended warranty and using the free doorstep service, I had their technicians come and change thermal paste and blow clean dust every 6 months, all I had to do was make a call and they would send someone to my home the next day. I used to game a lot, and like i said, even now I have to keep it running almost the whole day. Easy to upgrade RAM, Can run SSD and HDD in parallel. Runs like butter to this day,despite heavy use. Hardware wise they are solid. That's what matter the most in the long run. Idiots ponder upon questions like does the keyboard flex, or is the trackpad pink? The answer is, who TF cares? Every heavy user uses a dedicated keyboard+mouse combo anyway.
If you want to benchmark programming for laptops, youbcan consider compiling firefox or something and report time for that Usually that provides a good idea about programming capabilities Edit: I mean noting down CPU Speed, fan noise, CPU temps during the compile process etc can be very helpful when deciding whether a laptop is good for programming
5:00 Are you sure? I thought you'd get black bars on 16:10 displays because of the extra vertical space. Shouldn't you prefer a 16:9 display for media consumption? I'm confused.
16:10 is useful for those who use the web a lot or code a lot, 4:3 is also great but the black bars are more prominent, my sister's Microsoft surface laptop 2 has 4:3 aspect ratio, I used it quiet a lot and you don't actually notice those black bars after using if for a while. But recently many content creators are making their videos in 16:10 aspect ratio, so things would change soon.

My request is if possible please start opening back chassis and show us insides of the laptop. Its very important for us these days to see what we are actually getting, how the cooling is configured and if possible at all to upgrade anything (That can be storage, RAM, cooling solutions etc etc) or even some problems that might pop in the future. It also helps us to find out if company played in slight of hand on India variants compared to global ones, some do that same strategy with laptops giving how successful it is in Mobiles. Also, if possible little bit info os SS of BIOS options, it can tell a lot about machine. I think HP has surprisingly good laptops in 50-60k budget which offers possibility of upgrades, so I still feel MI/Xiomi/Realme might be missing a trick here.
The base model for Macbook air M1 costs 899$, that too with student discount factored in. The retail price in general is 999$. Not sure where you got the 700$ figure from. Although, even at these prices, it's still costlier in India at around 83K with student pricing and ~93K otherwise.
