I feel like this was one of the most brutal battles Godzilla had. Not only was Ghidorah there which is always a Nightmare for Big G but the arrival of the new enemy, Gigan with his laser eye and blades with the ability to fly made him an extremely annoying adversary. And the Godzilla tower the aliens were using nearly succeed in killing him. Even after it was destroyed Godzilla wasn't in the clear as Gigan attempted to finish the job while he was unconscious. After the battle the whole place was flattened. You couldn't even tell anymore that the fight originally started in a destroyed city, the city part was just gone at that point. Godzilla was covered in his own blood as well as Anguirus after he tried forcing himself past Gigan's belly buzz saw. This fight was just savage. If it wasn't so cheesy it would've been the best fight in the Showa Era.
@@Gojira-ri6rj That's why he sorta had this fight dirty vibe to him. He was only cocky and confident while the gold king was backing him up. After that, he got rolled (as he should! ha).
ProudPapa1980 my kid wants to watch Godzilla movies everyday. Got him all the toys. We’re literally listening to Akita Fukube scores right now lol. It’s a joy man
The song isn't even from Godzilla vs Gigan, it is actually from a movie from year earlier (that i don't remember the name), Toho asked those who made that movie because it was fitting for a Godzilla Movie, those said yes. EDIT: That movie is "The Birth of The Japanese Islands" from 1970, it is also one of the last projects that Tsubaraya worked on.
@@ayrahn7893 He also didn't kill himself with his own attack. Although I will say it's a bit of a disappointment that Gigan was destroyed in a non-Godzilla appearance. I mean Godzilla was there but it wasn't a Godzilla movie.
One of the best soundtracks in the entire Godzilla series. Hell it wasn't even originally a Godzilla theme it was from this other place i forgot where.
I still have not seen the actual movie, but I've seen and heard enough to give my full thoughts on the movie: Its stupid, cheasy and a lot of fun. But this music is actually pretty great, this dose make the fight seem like it would be epic and it kinda is.
And compared to the other Godzilla movies at this point (when Godzilla became more kid friendly and Toho had a lower budget) this isn't that bad of a theme song, all the music after and even a little before destroy all monsters the music became more goofy. But surprisingly in one of the more goofyer movies the music actually seems kinda sadistic or more urgent. Which really makes me think this song should come back one day, as well as Godzilla Vs King Kong.

This movie reuses 7 minutes of stock footage, King Ghidorah moves like he’s a rod puppet, it’s cheesy and stupid, but god damn this opening song Is awsome. Even though it’s from another movie… (The birth of the Japanese islands 1970)
If Mothra Vs. Godzilla is considered the "Empire Strikes Back" of Godzilla films? Godzilla Vs. Gigan is easily the "Return of The Jedi" of the series. Love it. ❤
Making a song as good as this isn’t easily done in just short time Between movies finding the right instrument is a lot easier said than done composing a song for a giant creature seems like an easy task but in order to truly make music you have to grab your goal and never let go no matter how hard it fights back and sometimes things may not work out but sometimes one persons work will be heard and loved by many never stop trying to complete your goal
Godzilla gets his fucking ass whooped in this movie, and by Gigan no less. Besides Mechagodzilla, I don’t think anyone’s ever come as close to beating him.
Recently learned this wasn't even composed for this movie. It was premiered at the Osaka Festival a year prior and they used it without Akira Ifukube's permission
This movie goes to show that, a movie can be dumb, cheesy, fun, and amazing at the same time
ThatSpecialNobody It’s one of the darker entries because of the blood

And the characters where enjoyable also
Angulis was the true mvp. Little tank standing up to Ghidora. Pulling aggro while Godzilla dealt with Gigan.
Comics made him beat destoroyah.

Gigan never even used his laser yet was still a formidable opponent.

Gigan was the first official monster to make Godzilla bleed.
in this movie Godzilla took a beating and his comeback was awesome definitely an inspiration when I was 8.
Both him and anguirus with the comeback
@黑狮子 wait so when godzilla was strucked on his head by gigans hooks did he bleed be I never saw godzilla vs gigan

One of the greatest scenes in cinematic history. . . still an inspiration for me at 42! :p
This was my First Godzilla movie I was 7 I fell instantly in love. I went on to collect every Godzilla movie made at the time
Same brother. I caught this one during the 90s. I was atound six and collected all of the vhs tapes! Me and my dad loved them
I don't know if this is crazy, but this music has an evolutionary, prehistoric, million-year-old atmosphere.
Prehistoric Godzilla and Anguirus vs the futuristic aliens Gigan and Ghidorah

The music went so well with the fights
Now imagine this soundtrack updated for Godzilla king of the monsters and it plays at the final confrontation between Godzilla and King ghidora.
Yes please
Or the city was completely destroyed and the titans were everywhere
I rather they save it for G3, Michael Dougherty wants to use Gigan and biollante for Godzilla 3.
I would pay thousands for that

This Along With Gojira, Mothra vs Godzilla and Invasion Of Astro-Monster are my favorite soundtracks from the Showa Era😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just love Gigan, especially the showa version. I really don't know why I prefer the showa over the final wars but theres just something about it...
I love Showa Gigan
I agree. Showa Gigan just has that special charm to it.
Showa Gigan wasn’t trying desperately to be as edgy as possible.

The Goji Empire godzilla vs hedorah is much weirder
