I’ve said it before but I love how in Godzilla’s theme there’s this background drum constantly going like it’s a clock ticking down until the inevitable meltdown.
Godzilla vs Destoroyah was re-written 3 times since 1989. The original plan was to have Godzilla fight The Thing from "John Carpenter's The Thing", but in 1993, Carpenter had to leave the project for 'reasons'. So the second idea was The Thing basically being re-worked, and Toho came up with the monster named "Barubaroi" (I think that's how it's spelt), which was basically The Thing beefed up in size, but that idea was scrapped because Toho required CGI for Barubaroi's transformations. Toho wanted Godzilla's 'final' enemy to look 'horror-ish' and scare the crap outta people, so sketches of a 'demon-like' creature were made, thus creating the monster we all know as: DESTOROYAH!!!!!!!
***** it still would have been cool, but the only thing i can think of is that during the events of Godzilla vs King Ghidora, they mention that Godzilla now is bigger than he use to be so the 1956 Ghost would be smaller

I'm just imagining that what would Modern destroyah would look like with the new technology. This movie is over 25 years old and Destroyah looked scary AF at that time so just imagine how he would look now 😱
It's really a theme that causes a terrible obsession. It haunts me every time I remember the terrifying destoryah image, carrying in it the destruction of the oxygen destroyer. It is also haunted by the death of buring godzilla - a sad death. I really don't want destoroyah to appear in monstervers. Because maybe the origin of the destoryah is changed, then it no longer carries that deep obsession. I want destoroyah to be exclusive to the 1995 movie and that godzilla's sad and beautiful death stay unaltered. I hope fans of the heisei and destoroyah series accept my opinion 🥴🥴🥴
Destroyah was so badass that shin godzilla was modeled very similarly to him. Ability to evolutionize at will and even create tiny versions of himself to kill humans at floor level....something they left out on shin unfortunately
A great theme for Godzilla that isn’t the generic one that’s played although that is iconic in its own way. This one sounds more terrifying than anything. You got a monster than symbolizes the devil himself and a ticking time bomb Godzilla who will stop at nothing to defend his young
At the very least, I feel like Spacegodzilla and Destoroyah are tied as Godzilla's most powerful opponent. I've always leaned more towards Spacegodzilla overall since Godzilla largely only started to win due to M.O.G.U.E.R.A. assisting in weakening and damaging Spacegodzilla. Up until then, one on one, Godzilla couldn't do anything that damaging to Spacegodzilla (even unlike Mechagodzilla II, which he managed to defeat in their first encounter). Spacegodzilla *is* Godzilla, with all his physical strengths and abilities, but further super-empowered from all the space travel, coupled with far greater intelligence (one of, if not the only monster that is truly, willingly evil, unlike a majority of others that are neutral and "random", or controlled by others, and also purposely attacked Godzilla emotionally via Little Godzilla), telekinetic abilities, and also able to make himself stronger via his crystals, etc. I also constantly see people say Godzilla was able to beat Spacegodzilla with a few shots of the red spiral ray, but they forget/ignore the fact that Spacegodzilla was on the verge of an explosive death anyway regardless by that time. Godzilla merely dealt the finishing blows to make it happen.
HalfDemonInuyasha Bagan is godzilla's strongest opponent . It took super godzilla whom for all intents and purposes is a god to defeat him. Super godzilla> Burning godzilla. Alot of people say bagan and destroyah are dead even but this is not the case. Bagan is literally the god of death, and is consciously evil like spacegodzilla. He just has never made it into the film world, but in the game Super godzilla for super Nintendo it shows that if you play as base godzilla your chances of beating him are slim if not impossible. Godzilla probably still would of stood a chance against destroyah even without being in burning form, i have a strong feeling he probably could of defeated it. Though it probably would of been hard for him to do so, Where as if he was not in super mode he would loose to bagan hands down. Burning godzilla might be able to harm bagan but its a stretch to say that bagan would loose to burning G. Considering it doesn't have any abilitys that regular Godzilla doesn't already have.
Thornwolf Diremane I know all about Super Godzilla (I own it still, Super Godzilla was also the direct inspiration for Spacegodzilla in terms of design), but unfortunately, Super Godzilla is not considered canon material, last I checked anyway, and video game stuff is, without official data books or something to give them more detailed specifics to back it up, virtually impossible to truly measure, much less compare it to the canon movies, because a bunch of things can be altered or done in certain ways solely for (more balanced) game play purposes. But in terms of Destoroyah, I also do believe that Godzilla, while most likely having a more difficult time overall, could have probably defeated Destoroyah without being overloaded as he was. Especially when you consider that Godzilla Junior, who is only as powerful as the original 1954 Godzilla IIRC (and the same height, hence half Godzilla's height at 50 meters / 164 feet tall to his current 100 meters / 328 feet tall), was able to beat *both* forms of Destoroyah's second strongest form (flying and ground) with atomic breath even weaker than Heisei Godzilla's standard atomic breath, and Destoroyah only really took the two by surprise which is what allowed him to snatch up Junior and kill him.
I agree fully. I feel though that super godzilla should be in a movie with bagan, its about time that incarnation becomes more well known. And i still have the game too
Yeah, Bagan was voted as the most popular monster that was never created, IIRC. The scrapped ideas I read about seemed pretty cool too (though, the Mothra vs. Bagan idea had the Bagan that looked closer to the game whereas the The Return of Godzilla version had a really weird chimera-like version that was nothing like the game). I think I read something like that Bagan impales Godzilla with his big horn, and the S energy turns Godzilla into Super Godzilla before he dies and that quickly regenerated tissue/scar is what becomes the part that fires the big navel energy blast from the game and what is supposed to be what finishes off Bagan. Maybe TOHO could make an attempt during the run of their 2016 reboot (which is reportedly going to be even taller than Legendary's).
Its because that in the Heisei series the creators didn't want to bring back any old Godzilla monsters and decided to make new ones like Biollante. But it didn't work out so King Ghidorah and Mecha Godzilla were brought back.
Imagine in Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla and Kong are both on their last legs and both roar very loudly to power up. Then, you hear another roar from the sea, the same one from the previous film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, that the Oxygen Destroyer was used in. A massive explosion rocks the water as white waves crash onto the island, and as the smoke remains, two reddish-yellow eyes shine through the smoke as you hear 2:09
I’ve said it before but I love how in Godzilla’s theme there’s this background drum constantly going like it’s a clock ticking down until the inevitable meltdown.
That's an interesting find
And it slows down and finally stops as Destoroyah's theme begins, indicating that Destoroyah had just "killed" Godzilla.

Originally that was a script for Godzilla vs Satan but it was never made

Mark Reyes funny I'm doing that rn
What did you say?
Mark Reyes nice
Sounds like attack on titan
Honestly destoroyah is probably one my favorite kaijus that Godzilla has ever fought and probably the most dangerous ones and he kinda looks like the kaiju version of the devil/Lucifer
Oh man, in the final round against Destroyah, when this theme picked up, I was like "He's Gonna Die ".
I'm just imagining that what would Modern destroyah would look like with the new technology. This movie is over 25 years old and Destroyah looked scary AF at that time so just imagine how he would look now 😱
GvD is like 45+ years old
@@UltramanMaxfromLatveria 45+ years already? Man thats a long time.
I can’t believe this is actually a sad movie
I know. It makes me sad because of the feeling of finality, and knowing this is the end of the hokey Godzilla movies.
2:09 *Deeesssstooorooooyyaaahhhh!!!!*
the best 8 seconds of the Heisei era
They also played part of this track when Godzilla started spamming infinite heat beams at destroyah.
If destroyah was real north korea would probably say they made him
If he was real north Korea would be responsible
@@bin8350 if he was real North Korea would be just a crater lmao
@@tetrafuse3096 I mean if he was real North Korea would have made him
@@bin8350 Yes, but then he would utterly annihilate North Korea and South Korea too, because there wouldnt be no Godzilla defending em
North Korea has pulgasari
Akira ifukube went all out with this song
Not really, because Ifukube's All out was in Requiem (from the same movie)
日本人ですが、貴方の意見は我々日本ゴジラ全ファンの同じ意見です!

When you hear a slowed down orchestral version of the main theme during the final level.
Destroyah looks like a double-sided axe, it’s so cool!
destroyah. the only monster to bring the king to his knees.. even though it killed him in the process
Mutated by the same weapon that killed the first godzilla. Literally making destroyah the most dangerous enemy to all godzillas
there was monster x to. but godzilla is no king...
he is a god
I just noticed, Godzilla vs destroyah used some other themes from their past heisei Godzilla movies since it was the last heisei godzilla movie
ゴジラシリーズ作品はどれを見ても飽きないしなかなか作品ははくりょげありすごい
Remember, the original title for this movie was quite literally "godzilla vs the devil"
@Rapsak100 godzilla vs the devil was just the working title
I am become death.. destroyer of worlds..how fitting of this living engine of death and destruction that is Destoroyah?
That was Pitched after Terror of MechaGodzilla in the Late 1970s
Burning Godzilla: Yeah, I'm destroying Hong Kong this time. No big orchestra. Just a guy playing a tuba in my ear. *tuba noise!* Ok, I'm going!
Destoroyah is Godzilla's strongest opponent ever
+Jacob Barbeau Debatable.
no orga is bro
Why do you say orga?
+Jacob Barbeau he regenerated to the point where he can survive any amount of damage
+Jordan Watson did he regenerate when godzilla blew his ass up?
Bro this movie its one of the bests the theme and monsters and plot
Destroyah was so badass that shin godzilla was modeled very similarly to him. Ability to evolutionize at will and even create tiny versions of himself to kill humans at floor level....something they left out on shin unfortunately
A great theme for Godzilla that isn’t the generic one that’s played although that is iconic in its own way. This one sounds more terrifying than anything. You got a monster than symbolizes the devil himself and a ticking time bomb Godzilla who will stop at nothing to defend his young
MASTERPIECE
Thank you sooooooo much I've been looking for this for ages
Thornwolf Diremane
I know all about Super Godzilla (I own it still, Super Godzilla was also the direct inspiration for Spacegodzilla in terms of design), but unfortunately, Super Godzilla is not considered canon material, last I checked anyway, and video game stuff is, without official data books or something to give them more detailed specifics to back it up, virtually impossible to truly measure, much less compare it to the canon movies, because a bunch of things can be altered or done in certain ways solely for (more balanced) game play purposes.
We can only hope
these movies are my childhood
My most favorite of the Godzilla series. (IMO the best Godzilla movie next to GMK)
GODZILLA IS AWESOME
Rex true Dat
Satoshi Katsumoto Don't forget Godzilla vs Biollante, quite good but sadly underrated.
When the ex slowly approaches
*This Music Is What Wakes me Up in The Morning*
My first exposure to Godzilla is the Pipework games, and Destroyah was a nightmare to fight against. Now I've seen his film, he truly is a nightmare
Why wasn't angurius in the 90's movies?
There were tons of monsters that were not in the 90's movies, if you think about it.
Its because that in the Heisei series the creators didn't want to bring back any old Godzilla monsters and decided to make new ones like Biollante. But it didn't work out so King Ghidorah and Mecha Godzilla were brought back.
true
Godzilla3013 Is that why they brought back rodan?
Perhaps

This Theme PERFICTLY fits this movie
1:52 and 2:18 is the most memorable part for me when I was a child :D
Destroyah is like the Doomsday to Godzilla’s Superman.
I really liked the music. My favorite Godzilla reincarnation. I just love it
For some weird reason, this theme makes me want to cry...
1:52 The most epic title sequence ever.
The beginning to this is always stuck in my head on the way into school...
DESTROYAH's Scarier Then Chernabog From Fantasia's Night On Bald Mountain

Imagine in Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla and Kong are both on their last legs and both roar very loudly to power up. Then, you hear another roar from the sea, the same one from the previous film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, that the Oxygen Destroyer was used in. A massive explosion rocks the water as white waves crash onto the island, and as the smoke remains, two reddish-yellow eyes shine through the smoke as you hear 2:09
2:09 if you want to make a entrance to a party put a smoke bomb down and play this part of the song
Not gonna lie, this song is so epic that might be the best theme song that has every walked the earth
