As a resident 4C girlie with locs (5 years to my butt) and a loose natural for 12 years prior to that, the problem with twists/braids (mini or any size that isn't considered large), is that the moment you wet them, they will indeed be locs! So if you're doing this as a 4c girlie, keep in mind that you likely won't be able to shampoo your hair if you don't intend to loc it.
Tips to having strong, natural nails please. Love love your nails.
Nailtiques formula 2
Yesss please
Eating oatmeal and eggs helps me. Sally's hard as nails and Shea butter help also. Drinking plenty of water.
This is the question. Hope she answers this.
Trim and file.
That's a very nice grid for a temporary style 😉😉
Thank you for your Christian womanhood videos, you’ve inspired me to study womanhood in the Bible and practice it in todays society ❤️❤️
I love mini braids! I usually do about 200, and I take my time with the parts so that my hair looks neater. I redo each braid every 3 weeks, and I take them down every three months, washing twice per week. I also do pipe cleaner curls to give them a softer look and shape 🥰
How long does it take you to redo your entire head every three weeks? I'm looking for a style that will allow me to enjoy my hair because it's always tucked away in buns
@@wanjafaith I’m not sure sorry, probably a few days? I am working and doing other things in between, and I also don’t do it all at once!
I hope we get to see how you take these down. Really interested to see that!
This is your look! ❤ perfect shape, length and amount of volume to truly compliment your face and style! Too bad you can’t lock up again but keep them close to this look!
She’s baccckkk ❤❤❤❤❤ even though I don’t have 4c hair I love watching all your videos
Those braids look so nice! I can’t believe they are so tiny
I love bunching! I love the aesthetic of coiled, unruly, spiral hair. Hair that is as confident and bold and as wild as nature. I am mother nature in human form.
OMG! She’s back! 🤩🥳🤩🥳🤩🥳
It looks like your hair grows so fast , so beautiful
I love the way the braids form around ur faces. I know that you said larger braids didn’t seem appropriate. But I personally think that, that what society wants us to believe. I was also wondering if you could share ur wash routine, because my Afros never look nice and round, like I’ve seen in your thumbnails!
Love the mini braids. I have sisterlocks, but I’d have went with mini braids if I had a good stylist who’d braid and unbraid them for me. It’s the takedown process that made me decide to get locked.
You can do wash and gos if you wash once a week. If you shampoo mini twist or mini braids the hair will begin to loc
What is that? Wash with conditioner??
Does wash and go clean the hair ?
She can do them easily. I don't know why she doesn't do them....
Love your twists beautiful!😊
It’s beautiful thanks for sharing more 4cs should embrace this look it’s very manageable and versatile especially for young ones.
That take down keeps me far away from these. I did small braids in my hair and I’m already dreading the take down 3 days after finishing them lol
Yes, especially with 4c hair yikes! I'd be willing to bet mine will lock up after 1 month. I wouldn't be able to take them apart. But, beautiful on Bindi.
I just started my mini twist journey April 1st. The first month was wonderful. I retwisted the front sections after two weeks and after 4 weeks I took them down to deep cleanse my hair and scalp. SIZE matters! My second install at the beginning of this month was a bust because they weren’t as small as the first and I didn’t stretch my hair after twisting so matting immediately occurred at the roots.
I’m so glad you came back to microlocs 🖤
I. Love. This. Style! ❤❤❤❤❤ Yes. The shape of your cut is so sophisticated. This style of braids/Locs are very feminine.
Thank you for that insightful information about 4c-4a.
This came out so cute! I actually wanted to try mini twist for a protective style, i just know it would take awhile 😫
6:30 Ma'am...your hair is a clear 3.
2 strand twists hold well in 4 type hair.
Love the braids!
Is it safe to say I’ve missed you 😢❤
Beautiful hair! Always love your content, glorifying God and teaching others to apply His Word to life.
You also inspired my minitwists turned interlocks, which I've had for 3 years now and absolutely love. I have 4c hair, super dense and course, and the 2 strand twists held well and are still holding strong in my ends. It doesn't take too much away from the overall uniformity, but the ends are a bit loose and coiled, which gives a bohemian vibe. 4c hair loves to be locked or braided or twisted. My fave cleanser is castile soap and i add olive oil after retighening. I'll use sulfate shampoo, especially for clarifying occasionally. I'm also good with monthly washes.
Beautiful video...
I was thinking of doing the same thing with my hair this summer
Your hair looks beautiful
Great vid! Last year I did mini braids on my 4c hair and due to the high tides of life, I UN intendedly kept them in for 6 months. I retouched every 3 months and it’s been great with the washing and maintaining. One thing about 4c hair is that it’ll shrink to your scalp once it’s washed lol. But I’ve always braided the hair in sections after washing or before I need to go somewhere just to have that curly stretch! Works every time.
As we speak, I have my mini braids in for winter in Namibia and it’s going to be a fun experiment because the air is extra dry🥲. Ugh the itchy scalp! I’ve always had that all my life I don’t know how to get rid of it.
Did you notice alot of growth after keeping them in for 3 months?
Genuine question: How did you prevent them from locking? I also have 4c hair and if I left braids in for 3 months (while also washing) I would 100 percent have locks. The takedown would be way too brutal.
First time here, and I have to say your hair looks absolutely gorgeous! 👍🏽
I love that you know your self ♥️
your soo beautiful, keep shining ❤
Been experiencing the same issue and recently decided to try mini braids since twists didn’t work as well for me. Glad i found this video!
Itchy scalp cam when I had high estrogen and cortisol. So crazy!
I’m so tempted to do micro braids but I know I’m not going to finish them on time.
I do mini twist though. Currently I’m doing mini braids so I can keep them in for a while and wash them without having to redo my hair. They’re a little bigger than your micro twist.
We have a very similar texture and omg you are so right. My twists don't last ever. I have some serious coils. How long did this take again? Your hair is thicker than mine
Mmm hmmm... You sure its temporary?
very informative thank you
I think more people would try “mini twists” and find success regarding hair growth & styling versatility if they realized that “mini” is relative. For me, “mini twists” are 26- 28 twists (c. less than 30). My hair is 4a/4B bra-strap length, & because it’s low density and fine, I’ve always had to do my own version of “mini twists” because otherwise my hair looks too scalpy if I do less than 26. So yes, women can surely do 100s of twists/braids, but I get great results and tons of versatility with just doing about 30 twists. I leave them in for two weeks, then wash etc and re-do. I use a low-ph shampoo to avoid tangles; then Pattern medium conditioner and Pattern leave-in. I then moisturize/seal with Mielle twisting cream, top with a gel, and then twist it back up.
Thank you for your video
I love them
Watch out for the detangling do not rush and use a good detangling co wash lile the one of as I am for instance.
How long was install?
This is what I am thinking of doing.
I watched this yesterday but I was flu'd out so I came back to comment!
Thank you thank you for mentioning that unraveling is common for two strain twists starter locs! I noticed that once I saw the bulges of hair (which I'm assuming is live and dead hairs having fun with each other), the twist would look like it's coming apart! The ends never came apart (thank God!) but I often use my finger to retwist it but even then it's a temporary fix and I don't want to mess with my hair too much before I'm the reason why it fully comes undone! Funny enough, I looked up locs before starting them (about 3 weeks worth) and I didn't know two strand twists would lead to this. Even now when I look it up, I can't really find something on it other than Reddit and Reddit is a hit or miss site for me.
Is there a way to fix it or is it something that just happens until a certain point? When I do my retwist the issue goes away for like two weeks. My main worry is that the ends will also split which might ruin the loc but if anyone who has gone through this knows otherwise, please let me know! I really like how it's coming out and I'm over 3 months in (will be 4 in early June)!
Head and Shoulders serves to dry out the scalp to make the skin shed in large pieces in the shower. It does not treat the issue and may be making it worse, IMO.
I first saw your videos when you got locs and then when you took out your loc with a thumb tac 😅. I myself got locs and took them out but i have been looking at micro braids also as my 4c hair hates me 🥲
Aww! Don’t say that about your hair! It doesn’t hate you 😭😭🙏🏿!
What made you cut your hair?
I certainly miss your usual content.
I started having an itchy scalp also, the only thing that works is sulfur 8 shampoo and sulfur grease.
Spray room temperature green tea on your scalp.
Where did you get your necklace and rings? They’re beautiful!
Scalp issues can be caused by stress, new food sensitivity or hormonal changes
I am not sure the difference is between micro braids and sister locs, but I always wanted sister locs. Sigh, but I have alopecia 😮
Sisterlocks are interlocked. It’s similar to a braid except it’s 4 strands and they use a special tool.
Very nice👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I always thought that 4C hair just locs immediately. Thats why haven't tried this style.
Did you count how many sections you made to do this? I'd love to try this and tell my hair stylist to do this for me and maybe it'd help them giving an idea of how , but of course they might be able to look but I'm just wondering
Seems to me with a new set of locs the scalp itches mind stopped itching after a year in.
Head and shoulders is really too harsh. Simple Tea tree oil will control and for me - stops the itching
Cool
I love them but how do u take them down safely?
Personally, I use water- thus make sure my hair is wet and no comb. Detangling with my fingers. I’m eager to hear how others do it.
I have not yet taken down a set this small, but the two previous braid sets I've taken down, I did it by saturating my hair with water and conditioner (with a HIGH amount of slip) and moving through small sections at a time, I went through (from ends to roots) with the Tangle Teezer.
@@Bindi_Marc How long did the take down process take?
Following from Kenya. Subscribed today.
@@Bindi_Marcthank you i will try this. They r so cute!
Hmm, I disagree. I don’t think mini anything is a protective style, not twists or braids. They look nice though!
That takedown is going to be….something!
How many braids do have?
❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing i am turning 40 soon and i am trying to find my style something age appropriate and stylish that is low manipulation i cant seem to figure it out, this looks great but my 4c hair tangles very very easily and looks super frizzy after only couple of days i dont know what to do, box braids are great but damages my edges so i stay stuck with pony tail or kid plats which is not very elegant or attractive.i have a channel and I stay off camera at all costs, as a christian wife and mother I feel ashamed sometimes.🤷♀️
Keep trying! I’m 35 and it’s taken me 11 years to find a style that compliments me and is age appropriate! I have small traditional locs now and I keep them cut pretty short in a bob and I feel really sophisticated with this look more the any other natural hairstyle I’ve ever had. I know naturals who would kill for volume but I work in a corporate setting and I feel it draws to much attention so interlocking & having short hair keeps my volume from getting outta control. lol
@brittneer8940 thank you for that , I appreciate you sharing.
Me too! I'm a SAHM and my hair could be a lot better; it's always in buns. Can't figure out what to do with it to make me feel attractive
@@wanjafaith yes I'm a SAHM too.
Try flat twists!
♡
Sister it can cause breakage to keep mini braids too long so please moisturize your roots. Bc ppl redo them they do not let them for months. Ask the Holy Spirit wisdom!
Also using oils for your scalp is good. Be well on Jesus Name!
Your itchy hair, may be a sign of gut issues. Are you deficient in any nutrients or have any ibs/leaky gut issues?
