Yessssss! Mini twist has grown my hair out to waist length 2x... I love the ease of it🥰🥰 you have access to your scalp and hair to love on it the more.
@Abigail Ruth Wenchie I know the feeling! It’s so much easier with twists, but I learned how to unravel them by pulling on two of the strands and it unlooses itself up to a certain point and then I just repeat. Not so bad doing it this way.
@Abigail Ruth Wenchie it really is a great hack! But if you borrow from sections, it won’t work well at all. As for my parts, they’re medium sized. I have about 20 to 25 mini braids in the back. I cornrow the front of my head, just so it won’t be TOO much for me. I haven’t tried mini braids all over yet, and not sure if I will. 🤔
@Abigail Ruth Wenchie no worries! I’m so glad I can help! I’ve learned so much from many, so it’s no reason why we should keep great ideas to ourselves, ya know?☺️
@lotoflotto what was your mini braid hair routine? How long did you keep them in for? Did you wash your hair in them? If so how often? I have very fine natural hair too and really need help
@@sammie1122I have fine 4c natural hair and have done mini braids for a year now, I keep the braids in for a month, washing weekly with just shampoo and conditioner, at the end of the month i rebraid individually (so without taking alll the hair out). E 3 months i’ll now take the braids allll out and clarify and deep condition my hair and sometimes do a protein treatment, then I stretch the washed hair and braid and continue with the weekly washes. so in a year that’s 4 times i wash my hair in its loose state. I trim every 6 months too. can be time consuming but works best for me
@brentisbae. That's good to know and thank you. My daughter mini braided my hair about 2 weeks ago and I've been washing it weekly. So as you've suggested I'll keep them in for a month maximum
Im restarting my hair journey again after ruining it with a texurizer and box braids for work so here we go again. And yes mini braids took my hair growth to a new level during covid i didnt even realize till i saw pics later on
That little teensy bun at the beginning was the cutest thing ever.🥺 Amazing growth overall, and your braids looks good! I actually do pre-poo my hair with a deep conditioner, as I've found it seems to work better for my fine, high porosity strands. I also end up manipulating my hair less that way rather than deep conditioning after shampooing and get less breakage. I grew my hair to BSL using twists, but mini braids are so cute I've been binging the videos.
Oh wow! I'm going to have to try this reverse method. Which deep conditioner are you currently using? Mini Braids +/ Mini Twist are the goat for sure 👌
I love how in your videos you're consistently using mini braids to grow your hair, unlike most youtube creators that claim to use a method for their hair but throughout their videos you see them doing too many other things and claim that they use those every single time! Love your hair 💓💓💓
Thank you! I strive to stay consistent with what I do and make sure my delivery is reflective of what happens in my every day life. Thanks for tuning in and if you're considering mini braids for hair growth I hope this video inspires you. Stay blessed!
I’m headed into month 2 with my mini braids and this is the first time I’ve left them in past 3 weeks, Lord willing, im keeping them (I wash and moisturize them) for 6 months (I’ve already taken some down one by one and rebraided the new growth)
I think they look so good! I tend to leave my ends out as well, became the braid starts to taper and I can’t braid it all the way down. It gives a cute boho look
Lol that’s my favorite gel! It even holds my 4c edges down and it’s very gentle at the same time, doesn’t irritate my scalp and doesn’t snag or overly clump my hair when I use it to smooth fly aways down in my protective hair styles :)
Your hair looks great and healthy, im gonna try and apply boho braids. But my hair is short, very short but im trying to grow it out as well my edges, after long use of braids
Thank you! It's been growing in well. Yes, you should definitely try Boho Braids. Let me know what your experience is like. Don't worry, your hair will grow out as you continue to nurture it. Thanks for watching Tasha!
Thank you 😊 Someone else mentioned the same thing. I’ll redo this and plait my ends out all the way and see I notice any differences. Thanks for the insight!
There’s a woman named Indigenous Strandz on RUclips. She has a solution for this. I just installed mini braids and did what she does with her twists: add flaxseed gels on the ends. It essentially “freezes” the ends of your hair into place so they are less likely to break and frizz.
Are you making this into a series? Are you repeating this style? I’m building the courage to wear them out, I’m going to do 6 months of mini braiding (a refresh every month or 2) after I take out my soft locs, i think it’s the best protective style out there.
No sorry. I don't use pre poo 😅 I don't follow any hair 'advice' on RUclips as it's not what I learned in college. 🤭 I love watching hair videos though. Well, some. Lol! 🤭 How long have you been growing your hair for now? It's very thick. 😊
@@Hairwith_D I don't have a routine 🤣 Literally no one believes me. 🤭 I wash it weekly and oil it weekly that's it. I don't cover my hair at night or use leave in conditioner. 🫣
@@Hairwith_D I swear. 😁 I used to do the most when I first went natural and the growth is the same as now. My hubby has 4c hair and does the same thing as me 😊. He only use oil and water too.

THAT part!! I used to be a mini twists girl but these mini braids are fire AND they last a lot longer!

I went from collar bone to mid back in 2.5 years using mini braids

So true, it's very gentle and leaves no residue! I can't use it for my edges tho, it will melt off within an hour lol
Now, my ends does the same thing. I use Ecostyler to help keep curl pattern.
I have learned so much watching your tutorials.

They look lovely, so neat. Wish I could part like that. For me tho, if I left my ends they would knot and end up too tangled to undo and break

The hack for boho braids is to make some plaits twist and to leave more of the ends curly like the content maker did.
