First, if the brake clips have the capacity to fly across the garage, you should wear eye protection Kayla...🤓For your oil pan, have you considered a dry sump? It would be great to fit the engine in the engine compartment and for racing too. For small car as the E30, you don't need power steering and power brakes. They are luxuries you can go by easily and the front of the car will get a tiny bit lighter at the same time. As Colin Chapman said: ''To add speed, add lightness''. Because the LS3 is 403 lb and the old M30 was 315 lb, you have 85 lb to remove from the front of that BMW to get the same equilibrium at speed. Great new project!👍
Hey I have gotten better about wearing safety glasses! Thank you for looking out for me. I want a dry sump so bad but they are priceyyyyyy. I agree removing the power steering and brake booster will help it a ton! I honestly prefer the manual pedals anyways for track use.

Hai Kayla. I have an S50 swapped E30. If you want to swap the magnesium valve cover (which always warps and leaks oil) I highly recommend swapping it with the S52 (1996+) plastic valve cover. You will have to upgrade to the newer coils as well to get it to fit but once it’s done, no more leaky cover. I’m almost positive looking at the engine out of the car that’s where your caked on oil is coming from.

@@zumjoshua this is super helpful though and I appreciate these tips. I have been cleaning up the S50 for resell and talking closely with the person buying it. They will be replacing all the gaskets and I’ll tell them about possibly swapping the valve cover.
I love coffee, and I love grinding it manually. I have 1 -2 coffees a week and you and your reviews make it so much more enjoyable on a weekend. I looked up the kingrinder p1 and I think they're taking advantage of your videos because in Canada the cheapest one they sell is$100 and at least should be $60.. ( to compare to your 33£)

Always nice to see more e30 builds on youtube. Im in the process of rebuilding a stroker motor for mine and shaving and painting the engine bay. My boy The Masked Driver has a really nice set of shave bay panels he designed and made this yeah if you want to make it easier for you to do that process. Also interesting choice with the late model bumper swap and ac schnitzer kit. Look forward to more e30 content
Thanks for commenting now I am watching all of your e30 content too! I did see his set of panels... I might try to cut mine myself instead. Any advice or anything I greatly appreciate! It's going to be a very long project for this chassis haha
@@KaylaRundle The good thing about the E30 community is they are pretty supportive and knowledgeable when it comes to people coming into the chassis, so you should be able to get decent feedback once they start seeing the future content on the build. I was also going to try to do it all myself but it's much easier to do his set up. He is also working on a removable core support system which will make it a lot easier removing the core support to put in or take out motors which would also be a good upgrade before the motor is built

@KaylaRundle welcome to the community if you have any questions let me know. To the guy who said power steering and power brakes is a luxury...he's not wrong but I highly recommend both especially when adding more power to the chassis. Stock m20 sure but even with the s5x or an LS, I'd put it in.
Yeah power steering and brakes is def a recommendation I wouldnt do it without either, same as people who do m60 swaps @@themaskeddriver
Wow!!! Excited to watch this. Some advice I and sure you have already thought about. Your gauges are mechanical and the outputs on your transmission and such will be digital. Holley terminator dash all the way.
Also, the oil pan issue. I know you said ls3. Do they make a dry sump ls3? If not, I would look at a ls7 swap if you don’t have any commitments.
Are you going to run that stock rear end ?

Welcome to the BMW club, i mean cult... once you go BMW you never go back. Nothing drives like them, nothing looks like them, and nothing makes you more happy than driving a BMW. Old or new they're all great! 😄
Shame it's getting an LS, but it is an easy swap. BMW makes a lot of awesome engines, a lot of them being V8s. S62 swapped E30s are crazy cool.

One of ur newest project car's in the fleet is that Porsche blue Bimmer E30 my favorite aswell it's going be nasty with ls3 powerplant since going be drift race car

Was a BMW fan of stuff they made in the 80's and 90's. Don't like any of their modern cars except M2 with a 6-speed. LS swap will be PERFECT upgrade, though some will howl that you did it (LS swap) to a BMW E30. You're full of surprises. Keep it up, Kayla👍.
I honestly would disagree with you and say all the gens of the BMWs have been great. They have always been up there on my car wish list!! Glad I could shock you. Thank you as always for your support.
@KaylaRundle Kayla: You're welcome. The BMW comment reflects that the older cars (like your project car) were "alive" with tons of driver feedback when driven hard. The new stuff generates the numbers but lacks the tactile feedback the older cars had. AWD and turbo engines make them fast, but I don't lust for them like the M3's and M5's I drove on the track in the early 2000's and reveled in how the more you beat on them, happier they were. Much like how you have built your Camaro. Just my 2 cents. I'm looking forward to seeing how the build turns out👍.

The miami blue came out so well, it really fits the chassis nicely. Why not paint the engine bay miami blue instead of white?
Thank you so much. The colors will be fun once its all back together. I want this car to be crazier than normal for colors, plus I have left over pearl white paint. Better to reuse and not waste!

@@KaylaRundle I watched the whole thing! I got too hyped and commented as soon as I noticed the empty engine bay. 😅I'm looking forward to seeing the progression with this one. That lighter frame with the new engine and trans is going to be a little monster.

@@KaylaRundle that chassis is so sexy I love bmw their so cool and sexy car . Have you though about lowering the suspension more or have it ride on air bag to have the front end sitting on the ground. Yeah it will I can’t wait to see it live on RUclips .
Yes the chassis is light and will need reinforcements. It'll end up being faster than the Camaro because of how light it is compared to power. The car is actually pretty low. i already had to put a skid plate on it so I don't bottom out the oil pan. Plus not being aired out is better for track use anyways, which is what I am building it for. @@StormTylerLions
