How to Paint Watercolour Sheep
Illustration episode 13: How to Paint Watercolour Sheep
Inspired by the hardy breeds of sheep that tough out the winter months, I've come up with a simple and fun way to paint them in all their glory. A perfect January craft project for all the family painted in the same style as your watercolour robins and polar bears.

Yellow Ochre/Brown shadowy dregs in the palette
Mars Black
Burnt Sienna

I have just started my watercolour journey and a friend recommended your channel. I am a wool lover, working with British wools in knitting, weaving and embroidery. Shetland, the sheep and the place are my favourite so I was delighted to find this video - maybe one day I will be able to paint all the different breeds I have knitted, woven, sewn with!

I so very much appreciate your channel! Lovely sheep. My favorite part is when you giggled as you painted the eyes and nose. It’s lovely having those experiences while painting and seeing things come to life. I had a similar experience during a Christmas painting session while painting a snowman. When I arrived at his charcoal smile and eyes, he literally jumped off the page and came to life. I had a hearty laugh at that one. Some may think we’re batty, but it’s the pleasure we have of this gift of creation that makes joy happen. Blessings to you!

We have Shetland sheep, Herdwick sheep and Blackface Sheep and I have some of my own little flock of Cheviot crosses! These are so cute and i cant wait to give them a try!

Love these. I do not have sheep but I do keep chickens and think they would be a very good subject for this type of loose painting.

I love sheep with black faces, because we had one, when I was a child... I loved that sheep, ....all the cousins showed her at the county fair and she lived a nice old sheep’s life (as a pet and family member)...on my grandma’s farm!
...When My son was little we saved a 3 legged piglet, from a farmer putting him down, at birth.. He was a good old boy as well, (and yes my son who was in kindergarten named him Lucky!🥴)... not original for sure but true....as all of Lucky’s litter mates did make quit nice bacon and hams!😳🙄
