I have learned more from you in the last month than you can imagine. Thank you for these little sweet animals. Keep up your good work in teaching this beginner.
Thank you! Will do!
That hedgehog! Adorable
You continue to amaze me with how clever you are! Just a few strokes, a “here we go,” and voila! Bless you, you make it enjoyable for all ages.
Thanks so much Paula!
You make these feel so attainable, a sign of a wonderful instructor! Thank you
I’m so pleased. That is my main aim!
Very sweet especially the hedgehog 🦔 xx
Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I've been waiting for. Other artists aren't always this generous. Breaking it dowm is sure to give me more confidence 😊🌸
So pleased it’s helpful
Very details excellent I love drawing animals too
Thank you so much 😀
So fun! These are some of my favorite animals. I am so glad I ran across your channel today! I can't wait to follow more of your tutorials.
Ah thanks Heather!
I so appreciate the way to break down the drawing segments! As always, the watercolor is perfect.
Glad you like them!
Your woodland animals put a smile on my face from start to finish 🤗. I wanted to collect them all in a basket & take them home ☺️. Beautifully painted as always, thank you for sharing! Cheers 😊❤️😍💕😘🥰
That's so lovely to hear, thanks so much!
You are very talented ,I really enjoy your videos and how you thoroughly explain how to make the shapes to help us. Such delightful subjects, thank you x
Thank you so much!
The tip for using the number six to get the shape of the squirrel is so helpful. I will try it for sure. We have many gray squirrels in our neighborhood (lots of oak trees) and I have never been quite satisfied with my drawings of them. Your barn owl is outstanding. Love them all. Thank you for sharing these woodland animal paintings.
Thank you so much Janet!
So much fun seeing these cute animals! Don’t know if I can do this but I’m going to try! Thank you!
I’m sure you can!
Super cute! Gong to take some practice! Can't wait to try. thank you
Have fun!
I love how you "reduce" the animals to gestures with the paint. It helps you to not focus on your preconceived idea of how to paint the animal but see yourself paint the strokes to create. Not sure if I am getting my point across, but it's a really wonderful to watch and learn that way!! Thank you!!
Yes I get it, thanks!
I’m left handed I love drawing. Thank you for Sharing your talent with us
Welcome 😊
Your tutorials are perfect for beginners like me. Thank you for making art accessible and encouraging! Greetings from Cali! 😃
Thanks Mary!
It is a pleasure to watch how your creations happen with such ease. These are some of my favorite animals, and I feel like I can make these even at my beginner level!! Thank you
Ah thanks Ann!
Thank you for your excellent tutorial. It's so helpful when you teach us to sketch! You are so talented.
Thanks Carolyn!
Another lovely tutorial - thank you!
Thank you! 😊
Just great, had to watch this video in 2 parts. Love how to teach, love what you paint.
Thanks so much 😊
This one was so fun to paint! I just used a basic 12 pan student set. The fox and hedgehog turned out especially darling:) Seeing how you break down the animals into their component shapes inspires me to (attempt to) improve my sketching skills. Thanks.
Thanks so much Allison. The twelve pan set can do so much!
These are so cute! Well done ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Delightful!
Thanks Jill!

This was exactly what I needed for my nephew's birthday card today. Worked a treat! Thank you so much.
You are so welcome! Hope he has a great birthday!
Really easy to follow thank uou
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for zooming in when you're painting. It helps a lot for me to follow your process. I also appreciated what you said about your Instagram 'first tries'. I have to remind myself that my first tries at something will naturally not often match up to the video tutorial I'm watching because you guys might have practiced beforehand to provide the most useful sort of video. :-) Your suggestions on how to approach the drawing are very helpful.
Glad it was helpful Marilynn!
Beautiful woodland creatures! 😊💕
They are!
They look really cute! lovely!
Thank you for this beautiful video!
Have a nice week!
Thank you! You too!
You make it look so easy Harriet but I will certainly try them Thank you
You can do it!
They are adorable,as usual.
It makes so much fun looking at your video. Animals and flowers are the best love them.
Don't know if I can do them, but I am going to try.

Thanks Dawn!
I’m a left handed and I love to draw
I love your tutorials , and i will try them out
Have fun!
Thank you! Your work is amazing!
Thank you too!
I tried these...you make them look so simple. No, they are not! hahaha. I won't share my efforts until I practice many more times. Yours are adorable!
It’s all about practise! You’ll get there!
Hi Hariett, I love love love your sweet little loose critters. After 2 years of watercolor painting.I am quite good at painting realistically for my liking but I still struggle very much with simplification and getting loose. I would like to see and follow your process of inventing these animals (especially the sweet little animals, because flowers seem so much easier and often seen here on youtube).I made some easter cards with your help: the lamas, the hens, the snowbells and the sheep and the recipients loved them very much and the hen card looks so lovely under a bouquet of real easter flowers and twings, as if the hen got a shelter.
Your barnowl reminds me of Harry Potter. How about some sweet little loose Harry Potter critters?
Thank you so much for your lovely comment!
Lovely tutorial.. Thanks !!!!
You’re welcome 😊
So cute Harriet!,🤣
Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial
No problem!
They are so adorable! You make it look so easy as always, so it’s nice to know you tried many times before these videos. X
Thanks! Yes, I think it’s helpful to mention that I have to practise too! Also so I can make sure I’ve worked out the best way to teach the subject
I am amazed how you handle the water. How can I learn that? My second layer creates cauliflowers always 🥺
It sounds like you’re getting a ‘bloom’ of water flooding in the painted space with your second wash. Try applying smalle amounts of paint in your second layer and blending gently
Loved it! Really cute and simple. ;o)
Thanks Sandy!
These are adorable! I did the pink dogwood wreath this morning and I am fairly happy with it! It could be a bit more dilute, but I am getting the hang of it. I did the watercolor challenge of the birch last week and I was so disappointed with it. It looked like an easy one, but noooooo. I'm going to do it again, as I have a list of things to change. I like the sketch you have started doing first - it is so helpful with the shapes of things. I also wanted to ask, does Ant do the shooting and editing? I can't imagine doing that and all the painting too. The shooting and editing are superb! I have made you tube videos for my journals and I know how hard it is, as well as time consuming! Carry On!
Thanks so much Linda. Well done for persevering, it sounds like you are making good progress. Yes Ant is behind the camera and edits everything for me. It’s a wonderful partnership we’ve got going and I’m so grateful to him as I have all my commissions to paint the rest of the week so I have no time to do the editing
Oh I’m just tickled pink about this tutorial!! Wonderfully presented. You are such a great teacher. Sending love from Oregon. How can we join your patreon?? I’d love to support you!

Great video. Thank you. I looked on your site for your tiny detail brushes, but only found a collection of the larger brushes. Will you be offering a collection of the detail brushes?
Ah sorry I only put the link for the ones down to 0. The smaller brushes are the same brand but the pro arte MP miniature range
@@deWintonPaperCo Thank you.
So small! Would love large drawings with closer camera. Music is distracting to me. 28:43
Dont worry, this video is from a little while back. We now do all those things.
