All great tips. Not sure if this was mentioned but first and foremost, you should introduce yourself to your guest(s); for example, "Hi, my name is Jim/Mary and I'll be taking care of you today." The reasoning behind this is that you want to build a relationship between you and your guest(s). Other small things include bringing lemons when they order their sodas, putting children's drinks in styrofoam cups, and always having straws, sugar, sweeteners, and napkins on hand. Additionally, always ask your customer(s) how they want their meals to be prepared, ie. "how would you like your burger done, sir"? The goal is to create such a pleasureable experience for your guest(s) that they cannot wait to return and receive the same high level of service they've come to expect. In the end, it's your personality and the comfort you provide that will make you money above all else!
You don't have to be happy in order to smile, u can make a second nature. i was working in a construction domain then became a restaurant manager and the ceo always push me to smile and took many warnings for that, then it became a second nature even when im in the supermarket, im smiling to people there..hhhhhh
As a customer I never really pay much attention to the waiter or waitress and I always tip the same, 20%. Just move the decimal over, multiply by two. Easy. To me the tip is just part of their wage, it's not for me to short them on.
Let’s be real, if I was genuine in my feelings as a server, I’d probably not have a job. I just think of this as being in the thespian club at school, I’m basically acting lol
My parents always gave waiters such a small tip, least is not giving anything most is $4. Now I make sure I give at least $5-$10 tips to waiters that I see are nice. Sometimes raise the tips when I see that they had a bad day just to try and help with their day.
Driving on the interstate I would see signs for Country Cookin' and always thought it was just a shitty local restaurant, but after watching this video, I now know it's a shitty chain of restaurants.
I've spilled a couple things on tables before but never has some one acted like they'd turn into a fucking mermaid if it gets on their arm like the guy in this video did.
This video was great . And informative too. I see many restaurants to cafe's to buffet outlets who do not follow these simple etiquette skills when it comes to fine or comfort dining. I have worked in hospitality for 2 years and I would rarely see these types of skills out on the floor and even worse behind the bar of where you need to serve up and fill up the drinks. No one helps you . Atleast in my experience they didn't . Glad that this training video popped up onto my feed. As I am aware of many people who would need to watch it .
Some customers are real bitches that if you made a little mistake they wouldn't even take a word we I do apologize, But I must say this is more better than what we used to teach, I am definitely going to use some of this tips for students.
Hi. I teach English in Vietnam. My school concentrates on speaking and listening and for higher level learners we have introduced 4 specific topics: Food and Beverage, Travel, Shopping, and Entertainment/Free Time Activities. Part of the course is for students to do their own study. We are sourcing various videos and audio links which students need to watch or listen to, and then they need to answer questions about it. After seeing your video, I was wondering if it would be possible to use various snippets from it for this self-study segment? Many thanks, Mr D
As a bartender this is very good video. especially the part waiter/waitress "trying to help" by go to our station, block the way, scoop the ice by glass and shout. This is not make people love you. Always offer to help first and ask what they can do, make sure they can do it properly and clean when they finnish.
Thank you so much very helpful and really appreciate it the way u made this video I find a lot of things related to b a good waitress Thank you so much
I dined in lots of diners,so for me its a lesson I learnt from horrible servers not to do.Also i think the best advise to be enthusiastic, just imagine that you own the restaurant...
Watching thise Video my Experience level is increased from present kevel ot advanced level. It is absoulately Great Video Ever I seen on YOU TUBE. Very impressed by thise video. Thank You For Uploading that kind of video Here for Free of coast.
Are the employees are expected to remember EVERY person who comes through the door? How could the question, "Is this your first time with us?" be offensive? The suggested line, "Are you familiar with how things work here?" is awkward. Much worse than the example of what not to say.
I think that's abit silly to be expected to remember every single person who comes through the door of you're establishment but it sure does help if you want the place you're working at to have a good reputation . Aswell as doing you're job with respect and gratitude. That you are grateful for you're guests visit . Because imagine this right if you're guest was to remember their first time at you're establishment and they come back again and are aware that you don't remember them imagine how they would feel ? Awkard !. So you should be able to atleast remember their names . Some guests actually find it rude if they had been to that same establishment before and you forgot their name . It's ridiculous yes but it does come handy and gives you're establishment extra brownie points for good customer service . Probably would even gain more tips by simple etiquette like that too .
I had a waiter check back at our table like 10 times in an hour or two we were there it kinda got annoying I just wanted to eat my food in peace. Maybe cut back on how much they come back like I can always signal a waiter if I need something
I watched it all. So now I'm qualified to work at any Country Cookin'.
Bahahaha 😂😂😂
8:15 she was gonna scoop it with the cup 😂 I love it
😂😂😂
lmfao
Ok pop quiz hotshot : What is the ten foot rule?
"genuine smile that you can see in her eyes" I saw her eyes looking around like when does this scene end
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I burst out laughing!!! "Look at her smile, a genuine smile. You can see it in her eyes!" LMAOOOOOO
Yea it was clearly forced
😂😂 it happens sometimes
idk but i get bad feelings a bout a person who smiles too much 😭😭 but you need to make them feel comfortable so it’s understandable
Never heard of this restaurant but I believe I am now qualified to cover anyone who works there shift.

7:25 I felt that pain of her refilling the coffee cup, for the second time. 😂😅
True kkk
Agh the smiling and being pleasant and cute thing is the worst part. I seriously can't smile genuinely and act happy when I don't feel like it :/

You're so kind. You may don't know that many international students who work as a restaurant server don't get paid. Their salary is their tips.
You are very kind
That’s nice of you.
But just because you CHOSE to tip that amount, it doesn’t mean everyone else should have to do the same.
Ur a nice guy.
Are companies aware of how MUCH effort all of this takes? You don’t pay your employees enough, love
Omg I’m dying 😂
I’m so glad I clicked on this video, this is hilarious
that genuine smile tho...
charlotte graham you also have one
yeah rams: legacy is coming, you look like quite a little gem yourself
charlotte graham lol.
"Please end my misery"
charlotte graham
Well, the video is actually very informative and teaches the right things!
"If you think you took a job serving meals, think again." You're serving abysmal looking, generic comfort foods.
"comfort" is being a bit too generous.
Christ alive I can’t stand when company bosses refer to their establishments as ‘families’
Driving on the interstate I would see signs for Country Cookin' and always thought it was just a shitty local restaurant, but after watching this video, I now know it's a shitty chain of restaurants.
Therefore making it even shittier
I've spilled a couple things on tables before but never has some one acted like they'd turn into a fucking mermaid if it gets on their arm like the guy in this video did.

I love your program and advices 😀
You had me at "Want to earn big tips, Take care of "OUR" guests and they will take care of you. Which means the restaurant pays you $2.35 an hour.
Exactly
All that extra for paying you minimum wage that's barely liveable
@8:30 how they assigning unnecessary extra work
with inflation, i highly doubt this still pays that much. they probably pay at least 6.50 or sum like that
i'll will have interview in English tomorrow i think i'm lucky when i was watched this video it's useful for me :D I hope i can pass the interview

Zavier Hartung if a customer comes to the restaurant once or twice a week, you would NEVER ask them is it’s their first time
Nice bro.
love it.
ıt is very useful video. Thank you for this video.
I like certain restraunts in general
Thanks for sharing this
Hey Guys I like this training video its not an hour long the way they used to be in the 1980s and 90s:)
this program is very very fine for my job
Engage guests with questions: "What do you think happens when we die?" "Which religion is your favorite?" "Was Frankenstein a real person?"
9:13 eyes on the camera
The restraunts is a second home complete with that crazy aunt that won't leave.
Useful.
''You like hot fudge Sundays?''
7:01 Why does that customer look so pissed? Jeez lady accidents happen. Get over it.
All accidents are preventable.
@Walter White Because she is an actor.
Why is he getting on his knees?
Lol

Uhmmm.....you ask and serve ladies first, and its called "prebussing" for a reason.
The "After" physical appearance of the server @2:10 didn't look any different at first...then I realized my screen was really dirty. :-D
