Yammie is growing up! Can’t help to notice the increase in safety oriented content and, more importantly, the MANY scenes in the video shot from on top a Versys 650, once ruled by Yammie to be to be the second dorkiest motorcycle out there (the Honda NC750X being on top). 😁
When I was a new rider I went around a blind corner too fast and ended up in the incoming traffic lane because I was panic braking to late... I ended up completely fine but had the thought in my head "Slow down! You could be dead!" I still corner quickly but never fast enough to feel I may need to brake. So on a blind corner much slower. Sometimes life lessons don't cost anything and we can still learn from them.
I think that moment when you really recognize that your motorcycle can, and will, kill you if you mess up is that moment we decide to either put it up in the garage or dedicate to getting good. Mine was going into a sharp turn, realizing I was going to fast I grabbed a fistful of brake (Didn't even realize the danger of that at the time) and got yeeted across the road. Fortunately it was dead of night so no traffic, but cracked a rib bruised to hell and rode away with a concussion.

For splitting lanes in california i can assure you that if you arnt passing at a million miles per hour an exhaust is especially useful for drivers to give way.
I can usually split lanes faster and more safely than just about anyone not wearing high viz because drivers are moving over long before I reach them. Its almost like the equivalent of having the Star from Mario Bros or something.

Going slow and looking where you want to go also go hand in hand. If you ride slower you give yourself more time to make observations - you can spot a hazard "sooner" relative to your speed, take appropriate mitigating action and then commit to continuing on your route. Riding faster forces you to make your observations, decisions and manoeuvres all at once and most of us aren't quick or skilled enough to successfully do this.
yes, just - slow - down - most YT vids I see with riders getting in bad situations usually are due to the rider - going way - way too fast. thanks for the vid - stay safe.
Distance/speed=time. If your speed is too high for the distance you can see, you have to slow down to give yourself time to react. The faster you go, the further you need to look ahead to have the time to react to trouble. Don't look at the spot 5 feet in front of you. That's the past. Look at where you gonna be 3 seconds from now. With every mile in speed you go up, that future point is going to be further away from you. Can't see that point? SLOW DOWN. Speed kills. Got 3 tickets for lane filtering here in GA a few months ago, decided I would be a good lil boy and sit in the ridiculous 30 mins of stop and go traffic every morning. Well one cold morning after sitting in traffic I finally got in my turnlane to turn onto the next street, and the cold tires leaning over the huge painted crosswalk, caused my rear to wash out and I lowsided 😭 yet another reason lane filtering should be legalized lolz

I went out on a ride with a buddy the other day and my inside voice yelled at me. "You forgot to turn dummy!" Yup, I forgot how to turn. A coyote crossed the road just before a corner and well my eyes watched the coyote and the bike kept going. Luckily it was a slow 15 mph corner so I just ended up in on the shoulder. That damn target fixation got me.
2:15 not defending idiots who do crazy stuff on the streets, but taking my bike to a track really isn't feasible.. You have to have your bike set up so specific to their rules, plus it costs a lot of money, and there really isn't anything near me...

I laid my R3 down on the 17th on my way to let my dog out to pee during my lunch break 😂 It was my own damn fault tho 🥴 Luckily I was wearing full gear and those T-Rex frame sliders took the brunt of it. I understand loud pipes aren’t the best for letting people know you’re there, most people are even blasting music in their cars so they’re not hearing anything. We all do that. But… I have to say it depends on the pipes. I can’t speak for cruisers… but most supersports in their power band with a decent exhaust can be heard for miles, much more so than honking. I’ve actually had people tell me they heard me before they saw me in some situations. So at least I’m my case it does help 🤷♂️
Yeah lots of such bikes go by my house every summer day. So thanks for making it impossible to enjoy my backyard. They're often so loud you can't talk to each other.
Jesus. No you are not going to be heard by someone in a CAR before you pass them Cars are made to block out most the sound from the world around them, for comfort. Unless your bike is blasting 90DB's INFRONT of it, a car wont hear you till you are right up on them. Your horn on the other hand will blast the noise forward, to where you actually want it.
@@Surpriseify Agreed. As another RUclipsr mentioned, if you really want cars you're approaching to hear you, you HAVE a device to do that where the noise goes forward. The horn. Why not tape down your horn button the whole time you're riding?

A coyote crossed the road just before a corner and well my eyes watched the coyote and the bike kept going. Luckily it was a slow 15 mph corner so I just ended up in on the shoulder. That damn target fixation got me.
2:15 not defending idiots who do crazy stuff on the streets, but taking my bike to a track really isn't feasible.. You have to have your bike set up so specific to their rules, plus it costs a lot of money, and there really isn't anything near me...
Is there a long-standing joke about the physics of sound? The loud pipes part
Hahaha very timely vid gents!! I laid my R3 down on the 17th on my way to let my dog out to pee during my lunch break 😂 It was my own damn fault tho 🥴 Luckily I was wearing full gear and those T-Rex frame sliders took the brunt of it. Still got a concussion and some broken ribs. GangstA 😎 Bike only has 3k on odo 🤷🏽♂️🏍💩 Street Rossi
surprised hello fresh sponsor yams, i just quit that job last week after working for them for 4 months, knowing the food was expired food & drop food on the floor they would still send it to customers, they are a horrible compony, just as bad if not worse then amazon. i went to the bathroom once and they told me if i did that again i would be fired, had enough so i just walked out of the job after that.
I’m down to the wires on my back tire, going to get new ones right away
Na they’ll last a little longer
Fire outro
You often mention how bad the Gixxer 250 is but, does this also apply to the naked version?
Always cover the brakes, and get additional training...even if you've been riding for decades, you can always learn something new!
YCRS Champ-U online course is only fifty bucks, but if anything they teach saves your life, it's worth infinitely more!
Jesus.
No you are not going to be heard by someone in a CAR before you pass them
Cars are made to block out most the sound from the world around them, for comfort.
Unless your bike is blasting 90DB's INFRONT of it, a car wont hear you till you are right up on them.
Your horn on the other hand will blast the noise forward, to where you actually want it.
@@Surpriseify I wasn’t asking. I was stating facts.
@@Surpriseify Agreed. As another RUclipsr mentioned, if you really want cars you're approaching to hear you, you HAVE a device to do that where the noise goes forward. The horn. Why not tape down your horn button the whole time you're riding?
The coolest thing ever and hardest is to properly follow all the rules, but everyone knows you can't get stuck by lightning ⚡ on a turbo Hayabusa 🏁🏍️💪😂🔧✨
Next episode please ,track days in the 🌧️🏍️☔⚡
Waiting for the premier of The Yummie Nub Cooking Hour.
Well sould have done some of them before lowsiding twice and getting hit bi a car in the first 3 months of riding :/
Oh no. I think that’s called bad luck :/
My friend also had a lowsider last year ^^
Gotcha. Nothing goes well with hooch juice.
Fish cough. Lmao gold bro
Hey yammie can we get some love for the 2006 z750s Kawasaki, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
How often should you lube your tube (and cable)?
Da just like driving a vehicle... I came from Moto-X racing as a Kid and Teen..
Unfortunately, the HIVIS gear doesn't actually help in my experience...
I wear a HIVIS vest all year and I have still been hit by drivers who just don't look when they turn the wheel...
Better use it then not, but drivers' education is the problem on this one
Take more classes y'all, the MSF is bare-bones-basics, it's really not enough!
I'm guilty of #6 but haven't crashed because of that... Does that mean I am the bestestestestest? 😂😂
did not know that fish cough. thank you for that
Most people do not find their own body odor offensive.
You said in jest, but a Yammie Track in the Yammienoob Kingdom would be dope, if an irresponsible waste of money
Speed kills plain and simple. It's almost always the cause of accidents. Pick your spots carefully when cracking that throtle open.
I crashed one time haha 😅 walked like a old man for a week and that's about it since I was wearing full gear. Might have overbraked a little bit on a wet oily road behind a hgv haha 😂
“Slow down” he says
“I ride a Himalayan” I say
Pfffft speed pfffft 😉
Well actually I have the slowest bike in the house yet I am the only one with a speeding ticket..... :-D
Loud pipes saves lives! That’s bullshit! What you do is ride without a pipe. This directs the sound waves forwards so cars can hear you.
anyone know what the white bike with the fairing and round headlight is towards the beginning and again at -9.21 is? 😊
Why is it that everytime a certain event happens, yammie noob makes a video the next day. Like I literally crashed yesterday
Just slow down! - busaboi
Papa Yam flips the script on reflective gear!...last video of his with borrowed/rented bike has him tossing out & ridiculing hi -vis vests!
Ps. Don't hit pedestrians unless it's Will Smith😁
on the booze note...my older brother taught me to ride a unicycle at a young age...Its like a riding a bike for me now...TRY RIDING ONE AFTER A BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!
