I use metal Camel Snus tins to keep my matches and stryker in. They are metal tins with an effective seal. Fits in a pocket without much space. I am now going to make some of your Super-Matches and place them in the tin going forward. FYI, my grandpa in the early 60's used to soak up a box of kindling every fall in Paraffine. He would put Paraffine bars in the bottom of a metal bucket, heat it up over a low fire and toss in the kindling and let it soak while the bucket was kept hot over the coals. I never saw him use more than one stick of kindling to start his wood stove... This was a great video... With respect... Joe
I already make those kind of firestarters for about 50 yrs (I'm 66 and from northern Europe) .... but dipped them and then placed a bit of birch bark n them and rolled them up .... since the laundry dryers I also collect the lint from it, soak that in melted wax and stick a few matches in the centre (these burn longer).
Video idea: DIY fire suppressants / methods for putting out fires. I’ve been seeing some really cool smallish fire extinguishing blankets advertised on Facebook. Most people don’t know how to use traditional extinguishers and/or if they have one it’s expired. Could explore and educate on options for putting out different fires and who knows your video could save a life! I learned a lot of those things from Boy Scouts, but that program isn’t nearly as popular as it once was so TKOR could fill that knowledge/skills gap for some people.
I unsubscribed awhile back when this channel started doing slime videos when that was the popular thing on youtube. I’m so happy to see y’all make cool/interesting/useful stuff like Grant used to do. Even feels like the same presentation style he had. Resubscribed and looking forward to this kind of stuff for a long time Edit: I agree with the other comments, Parks and Rec owes you royalties for using your likeness
A single wraparound of clingfilm (Saran for yanks), Before waxing adds to water resistance and is an extender as well, we just used to paint the sticks with nail polish and wax those up in flat layers.
Im very happy to see these guys are bringing Tkor back on track, I’ve always enjoyed the content regardless but this reminds me more of the content grant use to make. Rip legend
You should hot glue the striker strip on the inside of the tin and put a hot glue bead around the inside of the perimeter of the tin to make a somewhat water proof gasket
Only one thing i would do different. Roll them up into little logs after inserting the matches. Shove a matchstick sideways through it to keep it rolled up. Great idea though!
👍👍👍 .. nice, must give this one a try 😊. 🤔 .. am also going to experiment with injecting Vaseline into the alternate open cardboard conjugations before the wax bath to see what that will do. Thanks for the share ..
4:08 Or you can skip this nonsense ,get a soup can ,cut candles in half and melt it on the stove. After you are done you can ether reuse the can or throw it away.
Finally putting out the stuff that Grant captured my attention with. I liked Nate and Cali. Sad to see them go, however this channel turned into a knock off mythbusters for several years so i stopped following. I liked seeing the everyday hacks that Grant originally started with. making your own clay, Starting a fire with a sandwich bag type stuff.
It’s 15 bucks at Walmart so when I cover it with paint or smash it accidentally I just buy a new one and don’t have to worry about it. Plus it’s got a stopwatch
@@TheKingofRandom It looks like the same watch I've been wearing for years. Don't have to worry about what it gets hit on at work and when the band breaks, and it will, replacing it is easy and cheap.
I liked when you did the ballistic gel, how you also tried it with jello. Like some attempt at something different where you didn't know how it would turn out.
As someone that jumped ship from TKOR long ago, this absolutely has what I originally subbed to TKOR for.
Exactly, I hope they can get more views again.
Yeah if only most people have left TKOR because it “childish” like what I never stop watching these vids no matter how “childish” the videos are 😢
Now this is great. So glad to see TKOR back to how Grant originally intended it to be ❤
Content is going back to the roots. Love it. Hope the algorithm loves it also. Anyway here is my love for you :-)
Yes! Thank you!
Ron Swanson would be proud of his son.
Why does he look like Ron💀
I was just thinking that lol
LMAO that's good
His voice is similar as well….says some words the exact same way!!

I have done a variation of this for as long as I can remember. To get more time, just double dip them in the wax. Wait until harden between the dips.
As a guy who already keeps potassium permanganate and glycerin in my trunk as a just in case fire starter, I'm definitely going to have to make these!
Great tip for a survival kit/campin kit

glue the strike pad on the inside of the Altoids lid so it is protected from damage/wear and to keep the strike pad dry.
Potential issue with that being lit matches from jostling around.
Doubt it would shake around enough to light them

We want experiments of explosions and enthusiasm😁😁
Many thanks for sharing! Made them. Love them!

I have seen these made with cloth and cotton but this one is very easy to do.
Now this is the TKOR I remember. Long live the king

Damn I didn’t even realize how soon it was posted from now

can you do a video on different types of thermites??? also great video! keep it up
Nice, pretty much how oil oven starters were constructed back in the day. But about three times as wide. Simple and effective. :)
Absolutely brilliant!!❤❤❤
So when will we see the arcade, or desktop jet engine? Or the peroxide idea you have you could etch pcbs with it.
Cool stuff
First time to the channel and I loved this video! Keep up the good work 🎉
This is extremely helpful!
i wish Rhett Would meet Him
Excellent fire starters, but I'm surprised you didn't put sparklers or black powder in between each match.
Great job as always! 😎👏🖤💛🖤💛
Brilliant!!!
👍👍👍 .. nice, must give this one a try 😊.

The other reason to use water is the wax can't get above boiling until the water is completely evaporated so you won't end up burning it
Can you use any wax or do you have to use a specific one?
Probably unscented paraffin wax would be best, but I used a pumpkin spice candle and it seemed to work about the same
Jake Makes turned the KOR into Fallout! The king of Random got hydro dipped in awesome.
Good.
Mom never liked that candle anyway. You saved it from the yard sale.
Have you tried using Black Beard Fire Starters? They work great! Very affordable and they are made in America!
I'll have to look at those
Nice
Ron's brother is on the king of random 😂 never saw this coming
Reminds me when I was in boy scouts back in the '70s and '80s
Me: *doing video as going along, cuts cardboard*
Ron Swanson: Make sure to cut so corrugations are vertical
Me: Damnit
Joe Dirt grew a beard and started a RUclips channel! 😉😂
My ferrocerium rod and fat wood, a never fail inferno😮😊❤❤❤❤❤🍻🐗🖖🤏🍺
That was fun! Gotta love the simple ones :)
How?
How are you 6 hour early?
How are you 6 hour early
Did you buy this Pumpkin spice candle at #Playtech?
I'm sorry who is this I haven't watched this channel in like 5 years.

Man i wanna know what grant would thing of this channel now....
My fire bug side has been ignited by this. I'll show myself out now.
great vid and info son of Ron Swanson from viewer son of Mogue

3:42 Did he just refer to
the process as impregnate?!
im·preg·nate
verb
1. make (a woman or female animal) pregnant.
2. soak or saturate (something) with a substance
Sooo... waxed matches only light using a striker and if that striker gets wet then it's useless. Why not use matches that you can strike on a rock?
I couldn't find strike anywhere matches at Walmart
good
Are wax pellets more expensive? 🤔 I fear that essential oils could hinder the combustion
Oh well.. or simply grating a white candle 🤔
i used tealights , cheap and sold in big packs.
Probably cheaper, but you could also go with an unscented candle.
@@TheKingofRandom yeah sorry for my bad english, i meant unscented and wrote white
Candles are easier to find than wax pellets which is why I used candles in the vid
you can use strike-anywhere matches instead.
Definitely
Whos this new guy??
Ron Swanson
Jake Makes
Blue Peter for pyromaniacs!
Early
... or youmcan use strike anywheres matches.
Could you use liquid paraffin ? ♈⚓⚓♈
This is the best DIY creator there is🎉🎉🎉
This is LIT! (literally 🤭)
I was triggered by the wooden cutout of a handgun in the background. Get it? Triggered?
Ok got it... Wax on Wax off...
HHa who wears a casio watch th se days funny
Someone who wants to know which time it is? And maybe someone who doesn't want to recharge the overpriced "smart" watch every day.

early lmao
who is this?
Keep up the good work guys 🍻
they need new host
Could someone please grab you a ruler for me thanks
lol
@@TheKingofRandom love ur channel bro
Sad to see Ron Swanson got addicted to meth, but he still has some good advice to give!!!
2:48 Why does that bust in the background look like President Biden taking a nap?
TKOR please bring back the merch store especially the laser bow dart gun
Really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one lol
What kinds of videos would you like to see?
I liked when you did the ballistic gel, how you also tried it with jello. Like some attempt at something different where you didn't know how it would turn out.
how do you fall off from a 12 million yt channel?
His voice kinda reminds me of the guy in parks and rec
A channel with over 12 million subs that doesn’t even get over 5k views in 6 hours…just retire it already…RIP
This HAS to be Nick Offermans son! Right? RIGHT??
Adding just a bit of petroleum in the cardboard before inserting the matches might even increase the burn further.
