    Love these recipes, thank you! Word of caution for people that haven’t tried MACA before, it can cause dizziness the first couple times in some people, maybe depending on your hormones etc. I used a half teaspoon my first time , to a smoothie, and I couldn’t get off my couch for an hour , literally couldn’t even crawl I was so dizzy. I would start with 1/2 teaspoon and build up to more. Health benefits are worth it and these recipes will be delicious! Also make certain you are getting high-quality MACA from Peru not the MACA sources from China which has been found to have heavy metals in it.

      Ha! I started taking it a few days ago and I did notice I am getting lightheaded. Didn't know it was related. Thank you :)

    I take maca daily for many years , and the most effective way for me is to boil it in water with a pinch of coconut oil (or butter) for few minutes and drink it first thing in the morning on empty stomach ... I would also recommend much higher dose than is usually written on the packages . 1 full table spoon (10g) is a good amount in my opinion . :)

    Nice Recipes I had tried some but as other people wrote it was still quite strong. You seem to add a lot more of the ingredients that I used so I will just try adding more of the other stuff in haha :D

    I've seen that another option is mixing the maca powder in tea. In one of your other videos you recommended spearmint for PCOS. Could I mix the maca with the spearmint tea? Answer me please ✨

    I have heard MACA used topically on the skin is very helpful, as a sunscreen and other skin benefits. I have no idea how to do this so if you know about this I’d love to see a video on it!

    • @EbonyJaneNutrition
      @EbonyJaneNutrition  5 лет назад

      Yes I have heard this too but I haven't tried it :/ one I will have to research about xx

    • @seriouslythough4396
      @seriouslythough4396 5 лет назад

      Statikal you should probs do your research before you start getting all rude. The Face Shop just came out with a Maca sunscreen because it does indeed have UV blocking effects

    • @seriouslythough4396
      @seriouslythough4396 5 лет назад

      Statikal wow did Maca hurt you? Lol. Three minutes on google says otherwise.

    • @seriouslythough4396
      @seriouslythough4396 5 лет назад

      Statikal oh I seeee. You’re 12. Got it. Stay in school 👍

    • @seriouslythough4396
      @seriouslythough4396 5 лет назад

      Statikal I could care less about that product, I was just using it as an example. Per my original question to Ebony I was interested it Maca’s use in skincare/sunscreen which I had read about through my previous research. You’re the one that butted in with your basic and baseless unnecessary comment

    I heard that to get maximum benefit of it you have to "cook it" or give it some heat. Is that true?

    • @EbonyJaneNutrition
      @EbonyJaneNutrition  3 года назад

      oo I have never heard of this before and as a nutritionist we are always advised to use it in it's raw powder form. I will have to look into this though because maybe there is something to this :) xx

    • @Defeat_Deceit
      @Defeat_Deceit 3 года назад

      @@EbonyJaneNutrition This guy gives his reasoning. He says even in the best Maca there can be mold. So you want to kill it with heat. But I guess my original question was to get maximum benefits by cooking. I guess it's not necessarily more nutritious that way. ruclips.net/video/6XRkyT_Me3U/видео.html

      Apparently you should definitely cook it to break it down because otherwise you're basically eating a raw vegetable which is hard for the digestive system to process. Kind of like how you have to soak beans before cooking them to help your body digest them better

      Yeah it ain't great, lol.
      But I've found 2 tolerable ways of taking it:
      1. Porridge (quick oats) -
      Mix 1 teaspoon Maca in a bowl with dry oats, sugar & salt.
      Add boiling water, mix through, cover and leave for 5+ minutes.
      Add milk and enjoy. 😏
      2. Hot drink -
      1 teaspoon Maca,
      1+ teaspoons Caro,
      1+ teaspoons sugar,
      1/2 teaspoon instant coffee (optional)
      1+ tablespoons Coffeemate.
      Mix thoroughly and add boiling water.
      Cover and leave for 5+ minutes.
      Heating/cooking Maca is important!

    Did you experience breakout with Maca? Ive been reading some reviews, that it caused them breakout due to spike of testosterone due to maca.. How much of the maca do you take in a day?

    • @EbonyJaneNutrition
      @EbonyJaneNutrition  5 лет назад

      I have seen the same! I think it depends on each individual. I Personally do not breakout from MACA if anything is actually helps me to prevent breakouts ❤️ I have about 2 tsp a day 1 in the morning and one in the evening xxx
