  • You WON'T do drag races with the Gurkha, but you SHOULD know how much time it will take to get away from SOME (at least) traffic 😁 Also, the braking feels horrible at first, but then you understand that's it not that bad! 😃

    The redline at 3800 RPM is really low, but I like the engine note! How I wish Force would quickly launch the Gurkha in BS6.2 form with the Traveller tune at 116 bhp and 350 NM torque, though. The wait for its powerful 5 door version is getting way too painful now. Thanks for the video, by the way!

    • @RealAutoReviews
      @RealAutoReviews  10 месяцев назад +1

      That redline doesn't come in the way of this vehicle's intended usage bro. But, yes, I agree with everything else that you said. 😃

    • @fancyyahoo
      @fancyyahoo 10 месяцев назад

      @RealAutoReviews my concern with the low redline was mainly because in offroading situations where momentum is required (e.g. steep sandy or muddy slopes), higher gears would have to be used because the vehicle couldn't move fast enough in the lower gears due to the engine topping out at 3800 RPM. Maybe for example 4-Low in 3rd gear would be needed to maintain that sort of high-torque momentum instead of some other lower gear to achieve the same objective. Then again, I haven't went off the road at all, and there also are some other aspects such as tyre pressure, overall driver skill level and real-world experience. Other than that, thanks a lot for the reply! 😄

    • @RealAutoReviews
      @RealAutoReviews  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@fancyyahoo that's a valid concern theoretically. However, let me put you at ease with the knowledge that you would never need a higher gear in this one while offroading due to that redline. This tackles the hardest obstacles in first and second gears 😃
      Also, I reply to everyone. And when it's someone commenting on any of my videos that have a hardcore 4x4 in them, I would even come to your home to help you out. Not exaggerating. Why? 1) Because I love 4x4s, and 2) I want to help the sensible chaps out there and encourage them to off-road more because the chhapris are giving off-road, like other aspects of motoring, a bad name. 🤦 So, yes, glad to connect 😃

    • @fancyyahoo

      @RealAutoReviews thank you so much for your inputs about the Gurkha! My dad loves it so much, but we couldn't get to test drive it because our 'nearest' Force Motors showroom didn't have one, and I'm an international student, so we can't test drive cars together as often.
      I agree with your 2nd paragraph as well. I was watching your "Noobs in Automotive Journalism" video wherein you'd mentioned in the sub-heading of one of your webpage articles that people say "4H is for highways". For a part-time 4WD like the Thar, that would destroy the transfer case, right?
      I still highly appreciate your replies! Thanks again for them!

      The Bs4 version has powerful engine which produces 140bhp and 400nm of torque but due to mandatory bs6 the power is reduced and without reducing the power diesels can't meet the requirements and therefore Suzuki stopped producing diesel engines in 2020

    • @fancyyahoo
      @fancyyahoo 7 месяцев назад

      @@AngryDodge667 really sorry, but you're wrong on the torque output. It's 320 Nm for that 140 hp 2.2 litre engine which was also used in the Force One, and it was used in the Gurkha Xtreme variant.
      Force Motors did not reduce the power output for the BS6 version; they had to discontinue the 2.2 litre engine because they felt updating it to BS6 emission norms would be unfeasible. There has been no official statement from the company; it's just my assumption because the 2.6 litre engine which is in the BS6 Gurkha is also used in ALL other Force Motors commercial vehicles, such as the Traveller, Urbania, Monobus, Trax Cruiser and Citiline. Only the gearbox is different in the Traveller, Urbania and Monobus because they have the higher output (116 hp, 350 Nm) version of the engine. Therefore, it made more sense for Force Motors to update the 2.6 litre engine to BS6 standards. Reducing the power and torque output is not necessary for updating the engines to BS6 standards, but they are side effects because the engine cannot expel exhaust gases as freely as BS4 engines because of the presence of more exhaust treatment systems.
      Unfortunately, even this 91 hp 2.6 litre Gurkha has been discontinued by Force Motors and they said that they're working on bringing a new BS6.2 Gurkha with the more powerful 116 hp version of the 2.6 litre engine. The dealers have been saying this since April or May 2023. The 91 bhp BS6 Gurkha did not need any AdBlue/DEF refilling, but the later BS6.2 version will, if it ever gets launched.
