Yes they are made fresh their is a person who job is to make biscuits nor are they frozen. You also can buy mix in the retail store as well as apple butter even a natral version too. Retail Store has wide variety of favorite cracker barrel food items. So come on down to your local Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

Once you've had the real thing you'll see that you can't get biscuits from a mix in a box. Plus if the biscuits at home are just as good as the store doesn't that tell you that they use the same mix in the store. Made from scratch, my ass
It's weird that the box mix of for both because the biscuits and the dumplings have different recipes. Biscuits is 1 bag of flour with 1 1/2 gallon of buttermilk and the dumplings are 1 bag of flour, 2 quarts of regular all purpose flour and 1 1/2 gallon of buttermilk
I don't really care for their biscuits. They ARE dry. Their chicken and dumplings are OK, but their fried chicken is nasty!! In my opinion anyway. The breading was so thick. The outside was crisp but thr inside is the crusty was gooey!! We went there a few months ago, but we hadn't been there for like 3 years. I love the store in the front when you go in except everything is expensive. Not planning on going back for a long time.
Exactly. I learned how to make biscuits from a friend of the family. She was an 80 year old woman from Missouri. I learned to make proper biscuits, fried chicken, collards, and grits all before the age of 6

Cracker Barrel biscuits are dry, tasteless, and have the consistency of cardboard. Coming from the South, my high hopes for a decent Southern meal were dashed the minute I tasted one of those dreadful excuses for bread. Cracker Barrel is a grotesque parody of a great culinary tradition.

They are not unlimited or free any longer. $2.99 for 3 or 4 good sized biscuits. But they are served hot and really good.

I agree... Their fried chicken is gross... Taste like frozen chicken you would eat at a Turnpike Terminal while traveling... A No-go for me🤦♂️
