HI everyone! Thanks for coming by and checking out my video! I hope you enjoyed it.
Welcome to “Son of Buck” This is a music reaction channel. My dad was called BUCK, a nickname given to him by my granddad. I am a Texas LEO, retired US Marine, Husband, Dad and Pawpaw. I have two daughters and two granddaughters. I love all types of music. I grew up in the 60’s and the 70’s, listening to mainly southern rock and country music. If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next. Bathurst is this Sunday. A large part of the population won't leave the couch.
Cant bloody wait! hope some our US brothers can check it out
Im going to have to leave the couch at times.. the beer is in the fridge in another roon.. Wife wont let me redecorate for the race.. Oh well..
I'm in position ready for the day
1 yellow flag the whole day at lap 131, how skilled are Aussie drivers
G'day, I was a Sargent in the Australian Army, so thank you for your Service, and l will add your Granddaughter in our Prayers, nothing better than Grandkids l have four Grandsons, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
And thank you for your service digger.
You say you were a SGT, but can't spell Sergeant.... Somehow if you spell it *Sargent* really makes me doubt that you were one.
@@PBMS123 might have just F'ed up; Have you not ever made a spelling mistake?
@@PBMS123 G'day just a typo, or didn't have my glasses 🤓 on, thanks 👍
@@norsehall309 Bloody Nora Dig... were you a bloody Ginger Beer? 🤣🍻🍻😎😎
Glad to hear that science has helped your little one, and talking about them and your love for them is never boring and doesn't need an apology.
Bless her for healing and a beautiful life. Thank you Mike.
I love this Aussie icon of a race. My Dad was a mechanic and frequently took me to speedway events in the 70’s. He watched Bathurst every year, so did I. I loved the Ford verses Holden era the most. Holdens were made by the Australian arm of GM Motors and their cars were Commodores that raced. Ford also had factories here, and their main car was a Ford Falcon. So really it was Holden Commodores versus Ford Falcons. I loved Fords because my Dad did too. He had a 1967 Ford Falcon XP Wagon which he bought when I was around 1 years old. He kept that car for so long that it was used for my wedding along with a Model A Ford which had a wind up handle. Dad’s Falcon had bright red bench seats, and there were no seatbelts. He had to get a driver’s seat belt installed due to law changes, but that was the only change he made. Damn it was beautiful. As for this race, there is nothing like the sound of a V8, travelling at up to 300 km an hour or 186 miles per hour. The laps are 6.213km or 3.861 miles long, but they race 161 laps, which equates to 1000 km or 621.371 miles.
PS those in car cameras or race cam was invented in 1979 by a TV channel (Channel 7) for this race.
PS all the best to your Granchild.
You are a wonderful grandpa and it is lovely hearing you talk about it. I’m a grandma too and there is nothing better than being able to enjoy and be involved in their journey. Wishing all of you the best from an Aussie grandma.
Thanks for your service Marine.
ooh raw!. S/F
My friends here in Australia had eleven kids with eczema and created a company out of their shed called 'Billy Goat soap' or 'Goat soap ' now and fixed all 11 kids without steroids.
Cool stuff, worth a look!
My mother owns a childcare centre and every cake of soap in the place now is goat soap.
Hope your granddaughter comes good mate. All the best.👍
I had to have only goat's milk products instead of cows milk, and no perfumes or additives! Drugs are not the answer, natural balanced nutrition, environment control and constant soothing skin care are!
I can agree 100% about the natural health benefits of Goats Milk and other products.
My family farmed Goats for many years as they had big contracts for supplying goats milk to lactose intolerant infants, along with goats cheese, skins, oils and many other products.
Definitely would recommend trying out these natural products over any manmade chemical "medications" 👍🇭🇲
@@docbob3030 They are clever as a Dunny Rat and entertaining. Goats sitting in a tree or on your roof. Love em. ♥️
Sorry to hear about your granddaughter. The best remedy for my eczema outbreaks was salt water. I now live by the coastline, which the salt air is a great treatment for the minimal out breaks that I still get now
Couldn't wait to see you react to this. It's the start of "Bathurst Weekend" now. I'm not a follower of the V8s but it's tradition to watch Bathurst and there are plenty of watching parties.
Son of Buck this is a great Track the TV does not do it Justice, Been to the Race 1000 km race twice the Cutting, the Grate,Skyline, and the Chase are unreal, just got on Your Site cheers Michael NSW Australia
🤞 she's getting better mate
Thats stella news 🦘🇦🇺👍
Bless you and your family my brother.🙏🇦🇺🌻🇺🇲
We drove around Bathurst in m113 a1 11 ton armoured vehicles in the 80's.
Hey Son of Buck! It's cool watching people from other parts of the world reacting to what was and is part of culture, part of our core.
If you watch interviews with Australian celebrities you will notice that they are generally very down to earth and you get a sense that you are watching and listening to a real person, not some persona presented for the media.
It appears that a good portion of your subscribers are Australian. So when we listen to you pour out your heart and we get a sense that we are really listening to Son of Buck and not some RUclips personality, it is very endearing. No need to apologize for being you.
Glad your granddaughter is getting some relief. It's tough for us males when we are powerless to help.
While eczema is generally treated as an illness, my observation is that eczema is a symptom of something else going on in the body. So, if you can work out which part of the body relates to the site of the eczema you might be able to tackle the root cause of the eczema and not only control/reduce the eczema, but avoid some other health problems from spiraling.
nice. Yeah, American celebrities think they are special. I don't feel that way at all.
Bless her cotton socks. Great news!
G'day Mike, My wife has always prefered that I drive. Mostly because I could see (comprehend) things on the road well before she would
All the best to Lucy and we appreciate your stories Mike
My Son also suffered from eczema when he was a baby. It all started after he had his first immunization. At first we didn't connect the dots but after his next immunization it got a lot worse. I took him to a Pediatrician who diagnosed syrum eczema. After continuing on modified immunization he did recover. I would never advise anyone not to immunize their Children, this was not a common reaction at all. I'm pleased to hear that your beautiful, little Granddaughter is on the improve.
Interesting information. Thank you for the nice words about my Lucy girl.
Hi Mike, that to was funny as watching you react . It’s a great clip . But to see you bubble up talking about Lucy is next level, thanks for sharing all that . Certainly a proud grandpa . We feel your relief that the injection worked and your excitement going forward mate 😊. Great stuff . oh and never be sorry about waffling on 😎
Morning Mike.... this one came out at an odd time.
He is hilarious, some great one liners! 😂 They have motorcycles and rally cars too, plus a formula1 vs stock car! Exciting! 😄 Great news about your granddaughter, it's allergy season here and I really feel for her! Well done grandpa! Big hugs Lucy! 🤗
11:00. Nothing boring about that.. I have a six month old granddaughter and I haven't met her yet... she is in another state.
She is always smiling and happy.
Hard to even imagine how it feels to watch her go through constant pain.
More constant irritation than pain, I'm a sufferer too, there's no respite at times! 😩
More constant irritation than pain, I'm a sufferer too, there's no respite at times and no actual cure! 😩
I hope the poor little girl gets relief from the eczema. You do not bore us with your stories man all the best to you and yours.
All the best to your granddaughter no child should suffer
Channel 7 Sydney Australia was I believe the first TV network that created cameras in cars. Bathurst Mt Panorama is the best Sunday in October.
So pleased to hear your little granddaughter is getting better, it’s terrible when you can’t help them and as young as she is, she can’t tell you. 🇦🇺😘
That is fantastic news regarding that medication for your granddaughter.
‘I’m a control freak’. Lmfao! Onya, Mike! 😆❤️🇦🇺👍
Great reaction 👏.
It's hard to see little ones go through anything like that.
I hope she finds something that helps her live a happier healthier life.
Don't apologise for showing your love and sharing your hardships, I think it is wonderful 👍
Say G'day to Lucy for me from the Lang family in Australia 🦘🌏.
Remember Peter Brock would drive with one arm on the door.
This track is actually a normal road with a 60 kilometre per hour (37.5mph) speed limit. You can drive it any day of the week and even at that speed, there are parts of this track that are scary!
The Bathurst 1000 is on this weekend. The actual race is on Sunday. See if you can find it over there on a streaming service, you will not be disappointed. 1000 kilometres (6½ hours) of hell-for-leather, white knuckle racing like you have never seen before.
that fellow interviewing Waltrip is the same guy from the "this Bathurst" video...
I reckon Rally Cars would be the most terrifying, even at the lowest level
Yeh those Pine trees coming for ya every corner is pretty terrifying!
I’m laughing about your comments to your wife. My husband & I give each other a hard time as well. He’s a hoon from way back & knows how to handle his cars, I trust his skills. In return he reckons I’ve got the best reflexes he’s ever seen. Somehow it works 😂
All the best to your granddaughter , eczema can be so painful. Kids are amazingly strong ✌🏼
in australia we call that a back pack
Mark Larkam was the narrator in the last Mt Panrorama Bathurst clip you just did 😊
Shave Van Gisbern was our Supercar champion when he went to the USA and entered his first ever Nascar race. He was the first rooky to win in 60 years. He will be racing fulltime Nascar next year. Scott Mclaughlin was our Supercar champion when recruited by Team Penske to race in Indycar. He is currently third in the championship and had pole position at the Indy 500. Many good drivers come out of Supercars. Many excellent drivers come to Supercars from other series.
The great thing about Bathurst is that it is a public road that anyone can drive around, but be aware the speed limit is 60 kph and the Police patrol and impound vehicles.
😂😂😂😂 my husband says the same thing with my driving. I know it’s because he’s a control freak😂😂😂😂😂. I’m not that bad of a driver. Not like I see some people that drive around here 🤦🏻♀️😂
I hope the new medication gives Lucy some relief, she is blessed to have you in her life.
Think of Watkins or Laguna and multiply it by about 100 😅 Its like the Indy 500 of our sport. 6-7hrs of motor racing at its finest. Every region has its 'Holy Grail' and as an Aussie this is ours. Definitely worth a watch, at least the last hour or so 💪💪
Be sure to watch the Bathurst this weekend. It's a 6 hour race so get in some supplies.
Don't worry about appearing "scattered"......Most of us are even if we won't admit it.
That was a good fun reaction Mike 😊. That was so funny re you & your wife re driving lol.
Hope your granddaughter keeps on improving. My son had bad eczema as a baby, it’s heartbreaking for them and everyone looking after them. The older he got on his medication the better he got. He’s an adult now and doing well. I forgot how bad those baby days were.
If you like rollercoasters, then being driven around a track by a quick racing car driver is a blast.
Only problem is the helmut becoming so heavy in the corners you can't control you head. lol
There is an excellent drivers eye view of a Bathurst lap by Mercedes-AMG - ONBOARD | MEGA Mercedes AMG GT3 Lap Record at Bathurst
Wow 300 likes already.
You also have advertising now.... you have hit the big time already.👏👏👏
September last month Marks 50 years since Miles was converted to kilometres when the new conversion was introduced in 1974
4:00. He's used to being in charge of the car... totally different going real fast and you don't have the steering wheel 🤣😂🤣😳
Back again Uncle.
As a person who loves timber,I believe that it is a useful metaphor to consider when seeking to nourish, and protect your young one's skin so as to be satiated.
For whatever its worth,

My grandmother had the best cure, love, peaceful space, cool hands and soothing creams!
Yes! I really enjoy driving myself, but am terrified when being driven by other people! It usually partly that when I am in the passenger seat everything looks a bit ‘off’ for the judgements I need to make when driving myself. Didn’t improve after being in a head-on collision with someone else driving. Not his fault - a taxi driver on the opposite side of the road fell asleep, crossed to our side and ran into us - but I couldn’t do anything about it as a passenger
Racing drivers universally HATE being driven - they all deeply KNOW they are the greatest driver on the planet, they wouldn't be racers if they didn't. Even worse for Darrell, from his point of view, he was sitting on the correct side of the car, where there SHOULD be a steering wheel & pedals - BUT THEY AREN'T THERE!!! That's GOT to be disconcerting. Add to that the sheer speed they were doing - within 15 seconds of race pace - and for all Darrell was laughing it off afterwards, there was a fair amount of genuine Terror in his in-car reaction.
There is a 549 foot rise and fall from pit lane to the top of the track
Yeah, the car you saw racing the track was a Holden Commodore VE. You guys had them imported into the states and rebadged as Pontiac G8, The Commodore VF was the Chevy SS. seeing as Holden, Pontiac and Chevrolet are all GM.
Ive driiven the track cause its not far from my place ..i cant even imagine doing it at that speed...
Yeah, Mr Waltrip definitely hammed it up to the max but I think his respect for the cars and track was genuine. When they're not racing on it it's actually a public road and I've heard people say it's scary enough at normal speeds.
As you might already know, this circuit is a two-way public road on non-race days. I live about an hour away from it. I have driven around it many times....in both directions. It is quite daunting to drive in the opposite direction that the race drivers do.
However, as a public road, strict speed rules apply.
Mr Waltrip is right, television does not truly show how steep the circuit is,
A frightening thing is, there are times when solo motorcycles and sidecar outfits race on it as well.
The sad thing is, now that those damn electric vehicles are being forced upon us, it will put an end to long-duration races on tracks like this. I think the inept low hum of electric race cars, will be of little interest to those of us who love the roar of a gaggle of V8's as they fight it out on the mountain.
Nice powers of deduction there! I have two cousins and a nephew who are professional racing drivers, super cars being a favourite. I trust them implicitly in any car on any road. But absolutely a 'no' to speed laps at Bathurst. (We say Bathust, very short second syllable and no r or h sounds.)
Grandparent club, the best club in the world. No apologies needed for the love and joy you have.❤ Cheers.
We have Bathurst coming up this Weekend. Top 10 shootout Saturday and race Sunday 13 October 👍👍👍
Mate sorry to her about your granddaughter. Bathurst is a small town in New South Wales (NSW). The track is not a true race track. it is a road, a well kept road what's as you could imagine well policed. Conrod straight were they do 300 Km/h is normally a 60 Km/h zone.
Pure Gold Uncle!.
Sorry to hear about your granddaughter's issues.
I don't know much, but I do remember being amazed by the results that some folks have discovered out of necessity to address their child's chronic exma condition here in Oz.
They studied hard and came up with a couple of "tweeked" "Old school" natural recipes that combined such things herbs, natural constituents of buttery oils, milky oils, and honey etc.
I'm an ignoramus actually.
The main point is that "going old school " in this regard is well worth your time to investigate.
If memory serves,I am quite sure that an Australian mother discovered a recipe that was a game changer for their daughter, and them that they shared.
I have no doubt that such an investigation on your part will be a fruitful endeavour to at least compliment the injection side of things yeh.
Nourishing, and nurturing the skin externally for comfort as well.
Ayervedic soaps from India are also well worth exploring as a set of ancient, wholesome remedies.
Best wishes,
Zebedee from Oz 👍
" over actor " " end of story !" 😢😢😢😮😮😮 help!
Gday mate, it’s Bathurst weekend this weekend. I will be dedicating most of my Sunday to watch the big race. Also mate, sending best wishes to your grand daughter. My sister has suffered with eczema and to a lesser degree my father did as well. Hope all is well soon👍
the race track is actully a public road
How you going mate just letting you know that Bathurst is a public road that gets closed down two a year for the Bathurst 1000 and the 24 hour race the main race starts Sunday for us but Saturday for you 6 hour off racing full on
Try some Aloe Vera ointment on the residual surfaces. It stengthen's the skin.😊❤
Of course your wife is a good driver as you would give her a ticket for your a cop. 😂 Also you don't dare say to a woman she's a bad driver. 😜
If you ever get the opportunity to come to Australia do a hot lap, which is a lap with a V8 supercar driver. It’s so awesome. But you can also drive one yourself, you can do a 5 lap, 10 lap or half a day drive, it’s is also awesome. I’ve done both.
I did a 5 lap drive but it’s not long enough. I only had the confidence on the 5th lap to really drive it. My son in law is Jack Perkins (son of legendary Larry Perkins 6 times Bathurst winner) and he took me on a double hot lap. It was unreal and they are 2 out of the 3 best things I’ve ever done. It’s worth it.
Just in case you’re wondering the other thing was, it’s jump out of a plane. For my 50th birthday I jumped to make sure I was still alive and I can tell you that I am 😂 Now I’ve jumped twice and about to do it again 💜🫶🏻🇦🇺
ha ha.. slow down Sister...
@@SonofBuck-f7z okay, so I confess, I have always been a little bit of an adrenaline junkie 🤷🏼♀️ the closer I get to 60 years old the more fearless I’ve become, my kids say reckless 🙄 I tell them I’m here for a good time not a long time 😂
Darrell has been retired for a while & while I would not say he was scared I think his Butt Cheeks were clamped together really firmly& he was rather Surprised at how difficult to drive that track at race speed . I think he was in genuine Awe of the guys that drive in this race.
Please have a look at the video of the final 3 laps of the 2014 race. Search (FINAL LAPS: Chaz Mostert and Paul Morris win the 2014 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000) here on youtube. The full 8+hr recording is on youtube as well. But just for context the winner Chaz Mostert started this race in last place.
I went to school with the driver.
for my eczema I need a two prong approach - corticosteroid to target the site, and antihistamine to stop the itching
It's especially not the same when you are not driving lol but I think there may have been a bit of overdramatization as well .
I guess someone has told you that the track is a road for the rest of the year
Trivia 1000 Kilometres that is like going from Melbourne to the city of Newcastle New South Wales second largest city thats over ten hours
G'day mike
We have a few drivers from this category over in states now
Shane Van Gisbergen racing in nascar now
Also have several in Indianapolis Scott McLaughlin and will power Scott Dixon Marcus Armstrong kyffin Simpson Hunter mcelrea
F1 Daniel Ricciardo and next year be Jack Doohan these guys never raced anything but open wheel race car that made it to F1
But nascar and indie races these drivers al, champion multiple times of the track you just watched
Which is part of out touring car racing where they race about half season on road courses the rest on tracks
To help you understand the name of race you watched the track is Mount Panorama circuit but race is Bathurst it one in the same
Can call either and Aussie's will know what your talking about
The biggest difference between our car and nascars are the tyres and braking are by far smaller then any other top level racing
With close to a 1000 hp so have to much more intone with vechiles not to burn the tyres up or brakes and they don't use tyre warmers you go out on cold tyres every time the team changes them and takes half to a full lap to get temperature in them and correct air pressure before can push tyres otherwise destroy them if don't and other drivers will push drivers on cold tyres to destroy their tyre and sometimes the car on cold tyre has to let others through otherwise end in the wall as tyre pressure and temps not up so don't respond part of tactics as all teams have to deal with it and why crucial when to pit
Eczema ..my son had it so bad even bleeding on arms we tried different creams from doctors some steroid ones nothing worked .then we found .(Natralia eczema psoriasis cream) ,with in a week huge improvement then after weeks it all cleared up. 😊
Such a joke of a ride along
Dude find a live stream Bathurst is on this weekend its fridge night now
