@@egg_roblox4492 Shioriko Mifune to Ayumu Uehara in 2023: No heroics into St. Devote please, Uehara san.
Please make this in all circuits of the season that has corners' names!
Yes please
And maybe someday there is a video about the corners names in sotchi if they get different names like Turn 1, Turn 2, Turn 3 etc... :D
Flowo lol "turn 1 means first corner, turn 2 is the second"
Singapore: Turn 1, Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4, After turn 4, turn 6, turn 7, turn 8, turn 9, turn "singapore sling" 10...etc.
how spa's corner with no name got it's name :P
La rascassamecassame as it was said by richard hammond
0:02 - Sainte Dévote
0:19 - Beau Rivage
0:35 - Massenet
0:54 - Cassino Square
1:10 - Mirabeau
1:24 - Hairpin (Loews)
1:42 - Portier
2:10 - Tabac
2:26 - Swimming Pool
2:42 - Rascasse
2:59 - Antonhy Noghes
Why they skipped some corners?
@@rick.05 they forgot the chicane after the tunnel
Sometimes i heard the hairpin also known as the grand hotel
@@salmanahjum-mathee9055 because it's just a chicane, no name
Careful, he's a hero
I thought "the hairpin" is called "loews"?!
No more, it had the name from a Hotel called Loews, but since that Hotel got sold (and got a new name) it is just called "The Hairpin", thats what i know, but could be that it is a bit different
JustiNator I think its a bit...sad
Now it's called the Fairmont Haiprin since the Loews got bought out by Fairmont
+MotorSportChannel865 yet everyone still calls it Loews, really
+Martijn Kösters True! The swiss commentator calls it loews all the time (same for austria and one of the german's i think)
Portier is my favorite. What comes to mind is when I first drove around this track before I was even into F1 in Gran Turismo 5. From going into the sharp right hander and hugging the barrier to getting a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, it's one helluva corner.
What about Novelle Chicane?
'Nouvelle' means 'new' in French
La Rascasse, a corner where drivers dare to overtake their rivals, sometimes it ends good (Bianchi on Kobayashi 2014/Leclerc on Grosjean 2019) but sometimes doesn't (Perez on a Toro Rosso 2017/Leclerc on Hulkenberg 2019)
I miss the old logo so much.
Dude, F1 has finally got a modern media presence. I am so damn impressed with your youtube chanel. Keep going, this is the stuff we have been missing!!!
1:07 even official F1 content creators miss the real sound of F1 xD
Heh, I'm not the only one who re-uploads my old stuff.
1:51 Zombie Ayrton.
harpin?
lowe's corner... because the old Hotel's name was so
Loews
Don't know if it's still called that due to the Hotel being bought out.
@GhostsKuriboh Then Moews,, then Fairmont... actually I don't know why hotels keep changing theire names while other buisesses don't
1:25 HAIRRPIIN TIME
Turn 1: No heroics into Sainte Devote please
Massanet: Beware understeer
Mirabeau: Nico Rosberg famously had a mishap here
Hairpin: Unlike the one in Montreal, this one's way too slow to safely attempt "Hairpin Time"
Portier: So, did anyone else see the number 94 Sauber C36 on its left side against the outside barrier?
Nouvelle: Well, there went Leclerc's brakes, to the misfortune of Brendon Hartley
Tabac: I believe that was Crashtor Maldonado who bumped the backmarker...
Swimming Pool: The right-hander for the second half is easy to botch
Rascasse: Schumi famously had a mishap here
Great content coming from the F1 channel this year
Great insight! Thanks :D
i was so lucky that i was able to go last year here, not for the race weekend but again, its amazing
Que grandes momentos se han vivido en estas curvas :)
Nice. Would mind a video like this before every gp
good info, thanks
There’s actually two Mirabeau’s. The top one which is before the hairpin which is called Mirabeau Haute and then the corner between the hairpin and Portier which is called Mirabeau Bas
Thanks great video :D
I think Tabac is the most challenging corner in the world... yes, even more than Eau Rouge, Senna's S or the Loews Hairpin. i never get it right on the games, too high speed to be done correctly and any mistake can lead you into the wall.
I came back here because I just watched Cars 2 (yeah, for the first time), and in the Italian race there's a turn that's a complete nod to the Hairpin, it's the tightest corner of the race and it's a downhill to the "casino bridge", the circuit looks nothing like Monaco and it's on Italy, but that turn is definitively the Hairpin
No HeRoIcS iNtO sAiNt DeVoTe PlEaSe, *we're amongst the pack and just need to stay in one piece*
1:26 isn't it the Loewes Hairpin?
Before you read the comments, here is a run-down of the contents.
1) "wasnt the hairpin called Loews?"
2) "get rid of nouvelle chicane"
3) "dont forget nouvelle chicane"
4) "track is boring/needs more overtakes"
5) complaints about editing/pronunciation/everything
6) my childish-ass joke about monza
And that's about it.
legendary circiut my favorite turn is nouvelle chicane tabac begore tinnel now you dont see the sea some bulidings there harbour marina before tunnel you can see the boats in distance i miss that
Please do this for silverstone as well!
Monaco by MKTO will be blasting in my headphones when I go to Monaco for f1!
Much better than Turn 1, Turn 2, Turn 3 etc...
Unofficially I've heard commentators call the exit of the hairpin "lower Mirabeau" (just before the bridge leading to Portier). Thanks for the video, I knew some of these but not the stories behind all of them.
I've also heard that corner called "First Portier" and the one after the bridge "Second Portier"
Really interesting!
Re-uploading old videos when the circuit had changed?
As of last year Tabac has been made tighter on the exit yet the video says it hasn't changed
Tabac had changed before then. Prior to the late 60s,the circuit ran along what is now the pitlane, and the pits were (I think) on the front near Rascasse, so Tabac was a wider corner than it has been in recent years. Then in the early 70s, the main circuit was diverted along the front past the swimming pool, and the old part of the circuit became the pitlane. allowing more pit garages to be built.
The hotel ‘action’ joke 😏
I can hardly believe it that people could complain on Monaco its track! It's the highlight of the whole season together with Spa and Monza. "No overtaking..." "Boring track", blah blah blah...
Apart from there is actually only about 15 overtakes per race
+Nossy 123 So? Do you think only overtakes makes a race good?
+michael wallach Well I prefer retirements, crashes could easily go wrong and someone could serious hurt and probably die, so.....I prefer retirements.
+michael wallach I know what you mean, but I still don't want to see the drivers die in their cars.
+200LiterKopter Yes overtaking does make a good race, every other championship has more overtaking than F1 or at least the majority. Monaco is just overrated imo
The only circuit where I can name nearly all of the corners, including Silverstone (being British).
No heroics into Sainte devote please
Why did I get this recommended now? I literally thought that it´s a new video...
Zepter is most iconic for pass the tunnel
1:09 best place 😂😂😂
What i really want to know, though, is what is the name of that turn at monza. If i say the first thing i think of, its almost like a parabola shaped turn before the main straight... like the main defining feature of it is a parabola and a car. Parabola-car... now obviously, the F1 that i know would never name a turn something cheap and unimaginative like "Parabolica", so i have to wonder what name they picked for it in the end. 🤔
Make this for the others tracks too!
Do Spa and Silvestone!
Am I going mad but didn't they upload this last year? Nice way to milk your videos, just keep re-uploading them!
Shouldn't you be studying ;)
Here it was, almost exactly the same last year: ruclips.net/video/Ozt6GD-PclA/видео.html
+Matthew Gannon what?
i think the video uploaded last year was a little shorter highlighting less corners. but im mot sure.
And also highlighted some of last years events like in Mirabeau with Ricciardo's overtake on Raikkonen
Are there any old photos or footage of the old tobacconists at Tabac corner?
There's still one there. You can't normally see it during a race because the stands are in the way, but it's there on Google Maps and if you turn on Streetview and place yourself on Rue de La Piscine behind the big yachts near Tabac corner and turn the camera NW you can see it.
Can't wait for the Leclerc corner
Where is the Novelle chicane?
Arguably the best chicane in F1 history.
I'm probably a bit weird but I refer to Rascasse & Noghes as Gas and Loews I still refer to as Station.......
Where would you rather watch the race? Or where have you if you've been there?
I suppose either a tall building in Beau Rivage or the exit of the tunnel area would be good for me.
I have a soft spot for the swimmingpool entry. I'd find a nice spot there.
Middle of the left, right, left after the tunnel. Just up on the non-track bit.
Id get railed by debris but wow what a spectacle. And water views!
Really high hopes for both McHondas this weekend. Both em in championship points'll be cool.
Bro, who was the composer who made the banger in the background?
fr like every single f1 video had an amazing soundtrack
2:10 add an o
Isn't the schichane after the tunnel called Neuvelle?
Wasn't the Hairpin called Lowe's HP?
Loews* XD it's name changed but i still call it Loews though
Vectro666 turns out it was called Loew's (thanks, btw) because of the hotel facing down on it. The hotel is no longer the Loew's hotel, so therefore it is no longer called the Loew's hairpin
+TickTak77 Okay, no problem XD i didn't even knew it changed name until i saw this video lol
yeah yeah the chicane that's nice.. At least could of name this catchy tune
Re-upload from 2015?
2023: No Heroics into Monte Carlo please.
No heroics in Sainte Devote pls
At 1:50
The video says Senna crashed at the Portier In 1998
But he died in 1994 didnt he?
it says 1988
I think the Chicane after the Tunnel should get a name too
Hairpin? Fairmont? No, my friends. It will be forever LOEWS.
Monaco you say?
*nO hERoIcS InTo SAiNt dEVote PleAsE*
How about nouvelle chicane?
1:50 Senna 1998? Seriously?
Lol he is saying 88
Kev.6101 I guess they updated it
@@OttoLandspersky I guess you heard wrong actuially hahaha, Unless they were re-upload the video, they couldnt have changed the audio like that LOL
For me the Hairpin is for always the loews
If you are wondering what the Nouvelle Chicane is called because Nouvelle is French for ‘new’
the speed of formula one cars at hairpin corner is my city speed limit :/
Here we go, hairpin time!
Portier : The Crucial Corner To Make An Overtaking With Sleepstreaming In The Exit Of The Tunnel.
Surely I'm not the only person that thought the first corner was zandvoort
I'm gonna hazard a guess here that there will be a re-upload of this video,..... shortly,. :P
+Matthew Gannon lol
1:51 1998?
1988.
I thought my ears were dirty.
He says 1988, it's just not very clear.
and what about "Lowes"
Who's watching this in 2018?
Doesn't look like it.
2 years on, though, and this comment is impressively every bit as pointless as it was the day it was written. 😅👍
Hairpin I thought it was called Loews
Tobac + o what do you get
i thought the hairpin was name because the corner look like the real hairpin..
named
Sound like DaveHax
Did anyone else hear the narrator say 1998 and not 1988 when talking about Senna's crash?
I did
Yeah same. He really said 1998.
Nah just you
Nouvelle chicane?
I thought Portier was named like that so rich people could finally acknowledge the doormen they never thank from all the hotels.
Rose's Bar?
Petition to rename Rascasse as Schumacher corner
What about nouvelle chicane? Or is that too self-explanatory? :P
pity with modern technology they couldn't cover the swimming pool for another straight
nouvelle chicane?
It died. RIP.
Litterally means "New Chicane" in French. It's new because there used to be a straight in its place.
you missed the chicane namae
You mean Novelle Chikane?
+desert 321 yes i knos what its called thanks
Translated from french that means "New Chicane", its not really a name now is it?
+traxracer if you used google translate then no i don't buy it, cause Sofea (with a capital S) translared from Malay to English is flippantly
+Ginger Boy what? that makes no sense?
16❤
Thats got to be the most unprofessionally edited video F1 has ever put out
are the monaco circuit barriers always up throughout the year or only when F1 comes to town?
It’s so funny how they’re not allowed to say the name "Loews" anymore. Haha.
make it for interlagos and bet you will mispel it as brazilian says
If charles leqler wants to gamble is he allowed to?
Yeah. Because the driver is Charles Leclerc. So Leqler can gamble - sounds like he'd be from Montreal.
He won't be even allowed inside. Crazy if you ask me
I would absolutely love it if Liberty Media managed to get Martin Brundle to do these videos, his voice with his interpretation of things and idioms would be a delightful listen.
Idc what they want to call it to me the hairpin will always be called the Loews Hairpin.
I reckon that Lewis' losing streak will end on Sunday.
Doubt it. You have RBR possibly taking a win here.
I'm not saying he won't win, I'm just saying there's a lot agaisnt him.
URsuckishATlife In my opinion, RBR's win in spain was just down to luck because Mercedes collided. If they hadn't collided, Mercedes would have led home another boring 1-2 finish and Verstappen would have to settle for just being the youngest podium finisher. But then again, I might be wrong. Who knows until it happens?
Deafening Octopus Yeah, RBR was lucky in Spain. But I'm not talking about that.
URsuckishATlife I see
RBR were lucky in Spain undoubtedly, but given that the RBR has arguably the best chassis on the grid (consequently more grip, which is more important than engine in Monaco), I won't bet against them winning! Also, as we all know, in Monaco it's easy to slip.
