    My Aunt liked muscle cars. She bought a brand new 67goat,purple. She took us for a ride ,my cousin,brother,and me. She would always say" we're just going to blow the cobs out a little.lol One of my favorite memories RIP aunt Phyliss ,Brian

    Lord, if I ever get enough money I am heading straight over there. I restored a 65 442. went stock but after seeing these frames and rear-ends, I goofed. I bought the same wood steering wheel for the 65 Olds but later had the original redone. but seeing how the 66 came with a faux wood wheel this looks great. Magnificant!

    Absolutely bang on perfect blend of old and new. Im nearing completion of my 65gto and absolutely covet that chassis under this car, the budget realities in mine meant standard chassis and a hell of a lot of compromise.

    Nice restoration with some modifications here * there, like Disc Brakes, a lot if chrome in the engine, and wide tires in the back.

    That's a beautiful restoration!! I was hoping to see a ragtop worked over!! I had a white interior in my '66, never again!! White is a pain in the ass to clean!! And I would like to know just how much this project cost?? It must be nice to be able to afford having this done!! 26:28

    Absolutely gorgeous, but paint the fuel tank black, spec a less bolstered pair of front seats, and align the deck lid trim to better match the left rear fender.....but it's still gorgeous!!!

    I had a 66 GTO got married and by, by GTO. All so had a 65 GTO with a 389-3-due and a 4-speed. I replaced the 389 with a 1968 Firebird Formula 400 H.O in my 66 that brought her to life. Good Old Days. Gas high test 260 Blue Sunco gas at $00.32 a gallon back then. 1972

    Greetings from Australia, awesome job on this goat. I have a question though, the strengthening rods from the from the front suspension top "loops" to the fire wall, are they to make the car feel more rigid?. It's a brilliant idea but is the fire wall/front cowl strong enough?

    I have a 66 gto. It has rust in the rear quarter panels. Only the bottom 3" is rusted. Front fenders have been repaired. But not great work. I'd like to have them all fixed properly. And need a good body shop. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time guys.

      True, it's a restomod. I'm pleased to see they kept the Pontiac engine. Extremely nicely done, but takes cubic money.

  • @danblake3265
    @danblake3265 2 года назад +3

    Certain classic cars should not be restomodded.
    In this particular job was an incredible stupid waste of money what's the point in changing a frame on something to handle substantially more horsepower and torque and then put the same (relatively underpowered) motor back in it ???
    There was absolutely nothing could be gained by swapping out this frame and it lowered the value of the car!

    • @berttee3307
      @berttee3307 2 года назад +1

      A new frame completely advances the drivability 😂. I guarantee it makes a 389 Tri Power feel even better stronger

    • @danblake3265
      @danblake3265 2 года назад

      @@berttee3307 I hold an NHRA national title. With that horsepower and torque the frame has zero effect on the driver middle layer that vehicle if you double that power perhaps. Now it's just a waste of money that ultimately lowered the value of the car as time will prove

    If you're going to "restore" a classic automobile, RESTORE it to STOCK configuration!! Just making a RESTO-MOD out of it, DESTROYS the CLASSIC NAME!! Just hanging NEW parts on an old car makes a joke out of it.
