Not a fan of restoring old cars but that car is a work of art and should be preserved forever. Well done.
I was hoping we could at least hear it run. I was amazed at the amount of labor and skill it would take to undertake this project. Yea the music was getting old after 2 repeats. But I'm sure you tube has it limits as to what can be played. After all that work a short ride along would have made all that work come to life. Thanks for sharing. CHEERS
I hear ya, tremendous disappointment!
Might have been worth watching, but for the awful music overlay!.
I agree- a short description would have been helpful
So turn the volume off!!
Beautiful work ,I was 14 in 58 and rode in one like this ,never forgot ,it;s sound was something you do not forget
Exquisite. So many of these restorations can not help themselves from a few"upgrades". Yours is wonderfully original.
What crimped electrical fasteners??
Nothing blasted , filler on the welds??
Great job guys , on the car .
Background music EXTREMELY ANNOYING though.
One of the nicest cars of all-time
I had a 1958XK 150 S drop head beautiful car couldn’t afford to fix the transmission had to sell it at a terrible loss. It was a beauty I put lots of money into it before I had to let it go.
Beautiful restoration. Amazing work!!!
Laycock de Normanville electronic overdrive---a 5th gear. terrible non-synchro 1st gear
The result of this effort - expense - skill and hard work is essentially a New Car - Hand built to perfection.
There can only be praise to the team that made this possible
Basically a brand new car. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Incredible restoration, beautiful car !!!
Whilst the music is not objectionable it is not needed.
It's not compulsory to listen to it either if you don't want to, by using your volume control or mute button...
@@beerwolf2000 oooo why didn’t I think of that 🤭🤭
@@beerwolf2000 a bit rude?
Your right Jag, it doesn’t really go with that old English classic car at all!
The music very good my camel love
the paint is amazing
About 50 years ago I knew a guy who owned an XK 140. Beautiful car!
The body color is interesting.
British Racing Green
Can remember riding in one in the late 60's Carmen Red with black interior. 3,8 ltr engine. Pity the colour change to green
Beautiful!! Especially love the color scheme. When I was younger had a 1973 MGB in the same colors, so British. Loved the car until I was hit from the rear at a stop light in Dallas. End of car😔😔😔
I would have thought it had a wood vernier dash. Would have been nice . Excellent restoration in any case.
Wood facias ended with the XK140 FHC and DHC cars.
@@johnquilter7620 Bravo.! Soneone with some Jaguar model knowledge.
Sold my 1966 S Type after a five year rebuild which nearly broke me, never saw what it had cost me either.
Bought a 50 year old Peugeot Coupe now and it's so simple in comparison to any old Jaguar...
very good work but I had to mute it
I worked on these as an apprentice in the 60's. Great to see a full restoration.
Beautiful shape
Beautiful work a great deal of care went in to a massive job.
Very few XK150s today. Thats worth a few quid in todays world. Great job !
Nothing like Jaguar style from the 50’s and 60’s? Car of choice for east end gangsters or the old Bill.
The steering wheel is on the wrong side - but apart from that it's a miracle restoration- Well done, What did it sell for?
Great job, no doubt, but I would like the original color, red. Cheers.
Right, so much work for this bad false color.
All that work gone into restoration but the wiring just using crimp connectors instead of using brass connectors with heat shield over each connector. That’s going to give problems eventually when corrosion sets in.
Readily available too.
Wow!, beautifully well done on a beautiful piece of art and history. makes clear just how much time and effort goes into such work
Nice work. Not an easy car to rebuild, I sympathise with you and appreciate the effort put into this project. Thought I was looking at my own car; same year and colour scheme and which to me suits the 150 FHC best.
Very nice work. My neighbour had one for his wife back in the day and as a teenager I did a lot of driving in it for my learner's licence; I actually took my driving test in it in '62. One detail that I remember vividly was the gorgeous woodwork across the dash panel. It was also painted a light blue...almost a silver blue. Being a small car it went like stink.
When you said "one detail that you remember vividly", I thought you were going to tell us about the owner's, oh, never mind. You were a lucky teemager in any case.
@@geofftefl I remember everything about the owner. I was really impressed by the fit and finish of the Jag and the burl wood used extensively in it. He also had a Volvo sports car(P1800) so I had two rides to learn in.
@@kenturnbull9679 without taking anything away from your reply, I had imagined that, as a 16 years old male, you might also have been taken back by the "fit and finish" of the owner of the Jaguar sports car. But perhaps I'm letting my imagination run away from the topic.
Red beautifull , green 2
Lovely build...thanks..
Yes, I turned the volumn off.
Thank you for painting it BRG.
What a beautiful job it turned out, lots of details and with an excellent finish, I believe how difficult it is to find original parts, the result was excellent, the restoration part of the plate must also have been a very big challenge, congratulations on the restoration.
Efectivamente.
Great job, congrats
Sourcing replacement parts is extremely difficult and time-consuming.
Often parts just cannot be found - and many have to be manufactured
and engineered - often at great expense.
ManKind is an unusual species - we have the ability to be creative as well
as the ability to be destructive.
What a great job! However, I don't understand why you wouldn't use factory colour-coded wires in your new loom? They are readily available, and less confusing than Red for everything. Stunning car.
The XK120 is one of my favorites.
as a welding inspector, I can say that the welds on the frame are just terrible, it was necessary to pay more attention to this
Awesome restoration of the Jaguar
Felicitaciones y muchas gracias !
I like the music 🎶 and the car
What colour was that supposed to be? It should have been British Racing Green or the original Red. That 'whatever' colour ruined what was otherwise a great restoration.
BRG was likely available but I would have gone back to the red if that was the original color.
Un grand bravo 👍👍👍
love old cars , this is surely a Historical model and should have been cared for and looked after as such ... scandalous.... but well done Car Restoration... brilliant..
Fabulous restoration
Great vid... but that opening music was a bit intense! ... and then it just kept on repeating all the way through :-/ ...
What a wonderful car you have restored. Thanks for sharing!
Good project 👍😎
A beautiful restoration sir gorgeouly well done a beautiful job u guys did 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
wonderful Music... wow
I admire your work 👍👍👏👏
Great job! Thumb up!
Fabulous job guys. Well done
First class job
Love the music
Ild love to own a 1954 XK140, its my birth year, but living here in Australia the chances of owning my dream car is very unlikely.
Well done what a process a credit to all involved great effort ! Jodi music lol
Awesome!
I Love Jaguar bro😊😊❤❤❤
Superb !
Phenomenal job recreating entire sections of the vehicle very precisely done. I hope Jaguar was helpful?
Fabulous restoration of a beautiful car. Sad to see that it came from the US so left hand drive. However the area it was in probably kept the car in the condition to enable this repair to happen and to keep these classics running 👍🏻
Why not red?
You make a Yellow Cab in pink?
Rack and pinion steering?..I never knew that!!
Wow 💥
I cant believe you didnt clean up those ugly welds, yeah I know, nobody will see them, but I'll know. Beautiful car, well done on the rebuild, Im not a fan of dark colours on them, I dont think the dark colours allow the contours of the vehicle to show up at its best, I nice light metallic grey green would look awesome, thanks for showing the video.
I for one enjoy the playlist backing this video. Be nice if you added the source. British racing green is a no brainer.
bravo !
I like to see hands-on restoration, not just a bunch of still photos...
I got a buzz on listening to all that sitar music.
Should have shown more of the finished vehicle. Hard to fully appreciate it in it's entirety.
Well done
Stunning Car - had to mute to enjoy
Well done. At the end need to hear the engine sound as this car start and move.
I would imagine that a fuel tank had to be fabricated to replace the original, impeccably done
The music is making me hungry!!
Y did u not sand blast chassis and hot tank engine and soda blast Ally
Untidy welding very amateurish.
If it was red why change the colour unless it was green originally
Beautiful restoration,bad choice of music
Very nice restoration work but why change the colours ? That red with black interior was perfect ! The new interior colour? What type of brown/beige is that? hideous.
Beautiful but now it's too nice to drive. Like walking around in a white tuxedo. I prefer driver grade cars.
I'm puzzled. in the engine pics one engine is a 2.4, one is marked 3-1/2 litre and if I'm not mistaken, another marked 4-1/2 litre on the side of the block. The old lineup was 2.4, 3.4, 3.8 and 4.2. Incidentally those Dunlop brakes were never any good so it is better to swap them out for the later Lockheed/Girling system. If you are being a purist and want to keep the originality I suggest you keep a boat anchor in the car to throw out in case of emergencies. Otherwise a lovely job.
P-U-R-R-R-F-ECTION!!!!!!!!
If the purpose of posting the restoration video up was showing the skill level and techniques used to restore the XK150 I didn't see enough detail on the work carried out, one minute it is a sand blasted stage next minute is in primer with few images of the work leading up to. If I were looking for a shop to restore my car I would need to see more of the work done to it before committing a project. Just my two cents worth.
Bonjour, Beau reportage explicatif.
Kill the music, it spoils the vid
Why ruin the presentation with the crappy 'music' (noise pollution)????
(M)ein Traum 😚
Very impression
26:10 backside is that a Warszawa pickup?
I would love to do a drive test....
Rough welding
Dommage qu’il y ait cette musique…
great job, but why not the original color ??
Hi who did your engine ?
