San and wooyoung have quite lsimilar voice but to tell them apart san always sang after/before jongho. And he and jongho always harmonize together and sing back to back whick make sense since san is their lead vocalist and jongho is main vocal. Just like how hj and mingi are doing always rapping back to back. Its so unique.
I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!! @@melaniereacts they're like, random behind the scenes and it's usually themselves filming them so it's the most "raw" that we see them, they're just unscripted snippets of them interacting and some of them are absolute gems :) Also the earliest ones are kinda like watching kitten cams, they're so tiny and cute!

Man, that Hongjoong video was hilarious! It’s always the vlives! They get so out of control lmao! It’s funny you mention not being able to tell the difference in the vocalist’s voices yet because I was the same when I first started listening to them. For me, I would always get Seonghwa and Yunho’s voices mixed up. They tend to sound similar to me in some songs. Of course, Yunho is my bias and now I can point him out no problem lol! The deeper you get into your Atiny journey it’ll become easier and easier to point all of them out. Also, Wooyoung being such an Army is always fun! I love when idols fanboy over other groups. Jongho is actually the same with Monsta X, and there is a video of him being such a Monbebe as well. Omg Yunho is SO CUTE!!!!! Absolutely adorable hahaha I’m sure I’ll be able to tell the different as well, I just haven’t watched enough live performances to see who is singing which part. I think all their voices are pretty different once you know them so don't worry you'll get there! You should know however that they've got quite the range, especially Yunho and Seonghwa, so people (or lyric videos) mix them up sometimes. They can go very low (Say My Name, WIN, Answer, to name a few songs where you hear their lower tone) or very high (they've got beautiful falsettos!!!). Wooyoung's voice is very light and Yeosang has a gorgeous baritone voice. San's voice is also pretty versatile but it won't go as low as Hwa of Yunho (those two can almost sound like Mingi that's how low they can go). Lyric videos often mix Woo and San so be aware of that too. It's hard for me to describe their voices as English isn't my mother tongue but yeah, all of their voices are different and beautiful and you'll soon be able to distinguish them all from one another (I'm not saying it isn't tricky in some songs because it can be even for veteran atinys!) Thank you for the reaction, I love seeing people fall in love with these wonderful artists and human beings. (I like the format of 4/5 videos, the longer the video the better!!) (Oh and I've been into kpop for more than a decade but I don't listen to BTS. I know of their biggest hits and I've got several friends who are fans so I know a tiny bit about them but that's it😅)

@@melaniereacts the vocalists really really improved over time (you'll notice the songs become a bit more vocally-focused as time goes). They don't have Jongho's power vocals and perfect technique but they've definitely caught up with him in terms of skills and stability. ATEEZ vocalists: Jongho - as you know, a powerhouse San - has the second most belt-y voice after Jongho. His voice is powerful enough that he can harmonize with Jongho without being drowned out. He often sings main vocal or lead vocal parts (chorus, bridge, ad libs). He intentionally switches from mixed to head voice a lot or sings on the boundary between the two. It gives his voice a slightly whiny sound. He often uses a growly voice in his lower register. His range doesn't go that low, but he can sing pretty high in mixed voice and his falsetto has a clear tone. Seonghwa - has great range. His voice has kind of a cry to it. He can go almost as low as Mingi and also quite high, but becomes a bit breathy at the top of his range. His mixed voice has become a lot stronger during the fever era--he was verging on belting during DejaVu. Yunho - has a pure, clear tone. He also has good range, but I haven't heard him go as low as Seonghwa. His falsetto is lighter than his mix, but it generally isn't breathy. Wooyoung - also has a clear tone, but his voice has an almost childlike quality to it. His voice is naturally fairly light. Yeosang - often sings baritone parts. He can sing higher, but his voice can be breathy as a tenor. In his lower register, he sings with a bit of fry which gives his voice a unique quality that's easy to pick out. His voice is probably the lightest which can make his live vocals difficult to hear over the backing track. Hongjoong - can sing strongly and stay in tune fairly well mid-range without straining (he sings the demo versions of ATEEZ'S songs). Something about his voice sounds a little bit like Jongho, but more whiny. Mingi - his voice is fairly deep. When singing live outside of his speaking range, sometimes he strays from the pitch, but that's probably because he doesn't sing much so his muscles aren't used too it. I really like his tone. ATEEZ sang four songs for It's Live. Promise is the best one for hearing what I'm talking about. It's on their second album. Since you've watched Pirate King and Treasure, you're at the right point to watch it. There is a simple Promise MV with them dancing at locations during their world tour, but the live is better for hearing their voice qualities. They also sang Fever and Thank U, two of their B-sides for It's Live. They sang Turbulence as well, but I'd wait on it since it's a title track and has an MV.

I've never listened to BTS. I've seen them perform a song on a show or two years ago, but that's it. I didn't listen to any K-pop at all three months ago, then I randomly clicked an Ateez video and I've watched nothing else ever since. That rabbit hole became a giant sink hole real fast.
i agree with what you said that being a leader in a group that hv such little age gap is hard. however i do think that hongjoong is doing his job really well. like he is playful with them but when the time comes and he needs to act as an authority, the members believe in him and follow him without questioning. the members respect him as a leader too. san hv said that hongjoong is cold towards them sometimes but they understand why he had to act like that. and recently when they're ask whether they want to be the maknae or the leader of ateez, all of them chose to be the maknae and proceed to say how hard it is to be the leader and compliment hongjoong for it and stated how thankful they are towards him. i find it endearing that they are so playful with each other and babies hongjoong too but when it comes to work/major decisions they know they can trust hongjoong and respect his decisions.
@@melaniereacts yes i think he's the kind that naturally knows how to lead😄 fun fact: hj is the first ever trainee in kq (he's alone as a trainee for 6 months if i remembered correctly and they actually start having trainees because of hj) so he had always been the one who lead the others since he was a trainee. when ateez is formed, the company actually asked seonghwa whether he's ok with hj being the leader since sh is the oldest and sh said that there's no meaning to form ateez if hj isn't the leader :') fun fact 2: ateez's leader is actually called "captain" since their concept is pirates. the members must call him "captain" or they'll be fined. it's a rule set by the members themselves since they think "leader" is too common😂and we as fans call him captain too

Their songs are hard hitting, but melodic at the same time and they have one of (in my opinion) strongest vocalists in kpop right now-Kihyun. Stray kids are really similar to Ateez in sound. They no doubt have one of the best rap lines right now. And Wooyoung's bestie Changbin and his "son" Felix are there 😂. And TXT are amazing, but a lot of people find their songs boring. They are really different from Stray Kids and Ateez in sound and lean more into Rock. I really love their songs, because they have very meaningful lyrics and to "compare" in a good way-their sound reminds me of old BTS songs (think like "Butterfly", "Young forever", "I need u" and "Run" which to this day are one of my favourite songs by them). And Wooyoung's other bestie is there-Yeonjun. I have a soft spot for TXT so I would recommend to react to them first, but either way I would be satisfied 😆. Anyway, keep your channel consistent and with your sweet personality and genuine interest in the groups you pick up, it's going to make it grow really fast for sure. 💜

I have been an Army for long enough to be able to put up with cringy videos - nearly all of the Taekook / Jikook videos are cringey and have videos out of context - I can read between the lines because I have been following them for long enough that I usually know the context of the original video. But with Ateez, I'm obviously a baby Atiny, so I just don't want to react to anything that is super out of context and disrespectful to the artists. I want to see their chemistry but in a "safe?" way, if that makes sense. Loving all these recommendations! I have so many great things to watch.

I love your reactions! I was an army since bts debut, at the time I was about 2 years into kpop but BTS was my first and only ult group before ATEEZ debut, so they are special to me. But when KQ fellaz performance videos came out I was put in a chokehold. ATEEZ became my main ult group now followed by BTS.

Pentagon's vocals are extraordinary. Jinho and Hui are vocal legends. Their main dancer, Kino-a subvocalist, did a cover of BTS's Life Goes On on It's Live that's quite popular.
I don't think Yeosang is or has been self-conscious about his birth mark in particular - I think it's more that it's more effort to keep it uncovered if they're doing a full face on him than it is to just cover it up, so for most photoshoots, MV filming, stage makeup etc it'll be covered bc that's when he needs foundation the most. It's the same for Felix and his freckles. I don't think anyone is covering them bc they're deliberately trying to hide them, it's just incidental. :)

I’m Atiny and my friend from work is Army. When we discovered it, we decided to share our loves with each other through theme days. I made her an entire Ateez being Army theme day so if you want it, let me know! Also, I knew who they were and had heard some of their songs when Ateez had covered them but prior to sharing theme days with my Army friend, I had not heard BTS singing their own songs. 😳 So at this point I have heard Ateez and now BTS but that’s it.

BTS is the group that got me into kpop. But I haven't heard a single BTS song (aside from little snippets you can't avoid, or in stores) since 2019. I don't think you need to worry too much about those compilations manipulating Woosan footage, they are what they are and the rest is up for interpretation, but they provide us with such huge amounts of their interaction that there's not much need to enhance it in any way so it doesn't happen often (I honestly can't on the spot remember any particularly clear cases of that). San and wooyoung have quite lsimilar voice but to tell them apart san always sang after/before jongho. And he and jongho always harmonize together and sing back to back whick make sense since san is their lead vocalist and jongho is main vocal. Just like how hj and mingi are doing always rapping back to back. Its so unique.

@@melaniereacts they're like, random behind the scenes and it's usually themselves filming them so it's the most "raw" that we see them, they're just unscripted snippets of them interacting and some of them are absolute gems :) Also the earliest ones are kinda like watching kitten cams, they're so tiny and cute!

It’s funny you mention not being able to tell the difference in the vocalist’s voices yet because I was the same when I first started listening to them. For me, I would always get Seonghwa and Yunho’s voices mixed up. They tend to sound similar to me in some songs. Of course, Yunho is my bias and now I can point him out no problem lol! The deeper you get into your Atiny journey it’ll become easier and easier to point all of them out. Also, Wooyoung being such an Army is always fun! I love when idols fanboy over other groups. I think all their voices are pretty different once you know them so don't worry you'll get there!
You should know however that they've got quite the range, especially Yunho and Seonghwa, so people (or lyric videos) mix them up sometimes. They can go very low (Say My Name, WIN, Answer, to name a few songs where you hear their lower tone) or very high (they've got beautiful falsettos!!!). Wooyoung's voice is very light and Yeosang has a gorgeous baritone voice. San's voice is also pretty versatile but it won't go as low as Hwa of Yunho (those two can almost sound like Mingi that's how low they can go). Lyric videos often mix Woo and San so be aware of that too.
It's hard for me to describe their voices as English isn't my mother tongue but yeah, all of their voices are different and beautiful and you'll soon be able to distinguish them all from one another (I'm not saying it isn't tricky in some songs because it can be even for veteran atinys!)

@@melaniereacts the vocalists really really improved over time (you'll notice the songs become a bit more vocally-focused as time goes). They don't have Jongho's power vocals and perfect technique but they've definitely caught up with him in terms of skills and stability. also love your comment about how you were wondering about hongjoong balancing his role as a leader as a member and as a friend to ateez! from what ive seen, even when ateez goof around n tease n make fun of hongjoong, when it came down to work they Work and put their careers first! i think instead of hongjoong having to "sacrifice" that and for him to create a boundary, i think it really helps that all 8 of them seem really in tune n agreeable on that part about separating work from fun and being able to put aside personal problems from professional and they really do respect hongjoong as a leader no matter how much they tease him offstage. they would always praise him during interviews when hongjoong serves as a bridge between the host/ceo/producers with ateez and they never have any bad things to say about him. and hongjoong said this not long ago but he said he feels more comfortable showing atinys his more Genuine side? Not that he wasnt genuine before it's just that he tried to showcase the best aspects of his real personality but now he's so much more open n relaxed and he jokes around more n fools around and is more bratty i guess and it's so endearing seeing him switch in and out of his leader persona of his idol persona it's real,y cool to see that because yeah youre right! if youre a leader anywhere, you can be close to your teammates but there will be this. space where they cant overstep so you can keep the balance and steer your team onto the path you've all agreed and set onwards but i think ateez has found the perfect middle ground where they share the same love n respect for each other n for their dreams.
also wooyoung has said a lot that when he has a problem he can't solve or needs advice he goes to hongjoong and has said hes someone he relies on a lot and seonghwa is the hyung he goes to when he needs comfort 🥺 yeosang is interested in composing so hongjoong has helped him a lot and when yeosang covers songs hongjoong would help arrange them for him and it's really heartwarming because they love each other a lot. and during their wonderwall documentary, seonghwa revealed that he had a really rough time predebut before he joined kq n one of his teachers i think told him about this other boy his age and said he works really hard no matter the outcome n isnt afraid to fail and it turned out to be hongjoong so it felt like fate 😭 ateez seldom baby jongho but when they do when they have segments which involve writing letters to each other, hongjoong once said that hes really grateful to their maknae bc its not easy to shoulder the weight of being the main vocalist at such a young age and he was afraid jongho would feel pressured bc ateez has no hesitation to tell anyone who would listen that they have a really talented singer that their maknae is incredible and he said hes proud that jongho isnt complacent n works even hard even with how naturally talented he is 🥺 theres this one vlive that was taken down bc it was from their predebut channel but is subbed n available on youtube where the members all wrote anonymous messages on rolling papers for each other and since they cant read them all during the livestream, they picked 3 each to read out loud. and without knowing all of ateez happened to pick hongjoong's to read each time it was their turn and they said it was the most heartfelt most sincere one that caught their eye T__T sorry im rambling but i just really love their dynamics and how much hongjoong loves his members and how they return his love sevenfold 🤍

ATEEZ vocalists:
Jongho - as you know, a powerhouse
San - has the second most belt-y voice after Jongho. His voice is powerful enough that he can harmonize with Jongho without being drowned out. He often sings main vocal or lead vocal parts (chorus, bridge, ad libs). He intentionally switches from mixed to head voice a lot or sings on the boundary between the two. It gives his voice a slightly whiny sound. He often uses a growly voice in his lower register. His range doesn't go that low, but he can sing pretty high in mixed voice and his falsetto has a clear tone.
Seonghwa - has great range. His voice has kind of a cry to it. He can go almost as low as Mingi and also quite high, but becomes a bit breathy at the top of his range. His mixed voice has become a lot stronger during the fever era--he was verging on belting during DejaVu.
Yunho - has a pure, clear tone. He also has good range, but I haven't heard him go as low as Seonghwa. His falsetto is lighter than his mix, but it generally isn't breathy.
Wooyoung - also has a clear tone, but his voice has an almost childlike quality to it. His voice is naturally fairly light.
Yeosang - often sings baritone parts. He can sing higher, but his voice can be breathy as a tenor. In his lower register, he sings with a bit of fry which gives his voice a unique quality that's easy to pick out. His voice is probably the lightest which can make his live vocals difficult to hear over the backing track.
Hongjoong - can sing strongly and stay in tune fairly well mid-range without straining (he sings the demo versions of ATEEZ'S songs). Something about his voice sounds a little bit like Jongho, but more whiny.
Mingi - his voice is fairly deep. When singing live outside of his speaking range, sometimes he strays from the pitch, but that's probably because he doesn't sing much so his muscles aren't used too it. I really like his tone.
ATEEZ sang four songs for It's Live. Promise is the best one for hearing what I'm talking about. It's on their second album. Since you've watched Pirate King and Treasure, you're at the right point to watch it. There is a simple Promise MV with them dancing at locations during their world tour, but the live is better for hearing their voice qualities. They also sang Fever and Thank U, two of their B-sides for It's Live. They sang Turbulence as well, but I'd wait on it since it's a title track and has an MV.

i agree with what you said that being a leader in a group that hv such little age gap is hard. however i do think that hongjoong is doing his job really well. like he is playful with them but when the time comes and he needs to act as an authority, the members believe in him and follow him without questioning. the members respect him as a leader too. san hv said that hongjoong is cold towards them sometimes but they understand why he had to act like that. and recently when they're ask whether they want to be the maknae or the leader of ateez, all of them chose to be the maknae and proceed to say how hard it is to be the leader and compliment hongjoong for it and stated how thankful they are towards him. i find it endearing that they are so playful with each other and babies hongjoong too but when it comes to work/major decisions they know they can trust hongjoong and respect his decisions.
Hongjoong seems like the perfect person to be a leader though. He has such leadership qualities. i absolutely adore him!
@@melaniereacts yes i think he's the kind that naturally knows how to lead😄 fun fact: hj is the first ever trainee in kq (he's alone as a trainee for 6 months if i remembered correctly and they actually start having trainees because of hj) so he had always been the one who lead the others since he was a trainee. when ateez is formed, the company actually asked seonghwa whether he's ok with hj being the leader since sh is the oldest and sh said that there's no meaning to form ateez if hj isn't the leader :')
fun fact 2: ateez's leader is actually called "captain" since their concept is pirates. the members must call him "captain" or they'll be fined. it's a rule set by the members themselves since they think "leader" is too common😂and we as fans call him captain too

In terms of new groups to dive into. I really like the three groups that you have chosen. It's so hard being a multi stan, because I don't know who to recommend first. 😅 Monsta X are such real dudes and have been through a lot with one of their members leaving. Their songs are hard hitting, but melodic at the same time and they have one of (in my opinion) strongest vocalists in kpop right now-Kihyun. Stray kids are really similar to Ateez in sound. They no doubt have one of the best rap lines right now. And Wooyoung's bestie Changbin and his "son" Felix are there 😂. And TXT are amazing, but a lot of people find their songs boring. They are really different from Stray Kids and Ateez in sound and lean more into Rock. I really love their songs, because they have very meaningful lyrics and to "compare" in a good way-their sound reminds me of old BTS songs (think like "Butterfly", "Young forever", "I need u" and "Run" which to this day are one of my favourite songs by them). And Wooyoung's other bestie is there-Yeonjun. I have a soft spot for TXT so I would recommend to react to them first, but either way I would be satisfied 😆.

Normally, if it's uploaded on Ateez' or KQ's channels, it's safe to react to (except the Japanese songs, but they might be on another channel? Just a warning).

I have been an Army for long enough to be able to put up with cringy videos - nearly all of the Taekook / Jikook videos are cringey and have videos out of context - I can read between the lines because I have been following them for long enough that I usually know the context of the original video. But with Ateez, I'm obviously a baby Atiny, so I just don't want to react to anything that is super out of context and disrespectful to the artists. I want to see their chemistry but in a "safe?" way, if that makes sense.

I love your reactions! I was an army since bts debut, at the time I was about 2 years into kpop but BTS was my first and only ult group before ATEEZ debut, so they are special to me. But when KQ fellaz performance videos came out I was put in a chokehold. ATEEZ became my main ult group now followed by BTS.

Pentagon's vocals are extraordinary. Jinho and Hui are vocal legends. Their main dancer, Kino-a subvocalist, did a cover of BTS's Life Goes On on It's Live that's quite popular.
I don't think Yeosang is or has been self-conscious about his birth mark in particular - I think it's more that it's more effort to keep it uncovered if they're doing a full face on him than it is to just cover it up, so for most photoshoots, MV filming, stage makeup etc it'll be covered bc that's when he needs foundation the most. It's the same for Felix and his freckles. I don't think anyone is covering them bc they're deliberately trying to hide them, it's just incidental. :)

I’m Atiny and my friend from work is Army. When we discovered it, we decided to share our loves with each other through theme days. I made her an entire Ateez being Army theme day so if you want it, let me know!

BTS is the group that got me into kpop. But I haven't heard a single BTS song (aside from little snippets you can't avoid, or in stores) since 2019. I fell out of love as quickly as I fell in love with them.

I don't think you need to worry too much about those compilations manipulating Woosan footage, they are what they are and the rest is up for interpretation, but they provide us with such huge amounts of their interaction that there's not much need to enhance it in any way so it doesn't happen often (I honestly can't on the spot remember any particularly clear cases of that). Some vids will have more explicit comments than others though, so if you're not comfortable with that, that might be something to be wary of. There are plenty of compilations though that are just fairly unedited collections of footage of all their moments, not necessarily from a shipping angle, like this whole series ruclips.net/video/jxlEyyfQeOw/видео.html so if you're curious about their dynamic in a general sense they might be a good choice.
