Ateez literally just debuted in late oct 2018 and they are from an unknown company which usually results in groups not being invited to MAMA, plus rookies usually get 2/3 songs (10 mins max) to perform even if they are from big4/popular. Atz managed to win an award (worldwide fans choice) at MAMA hence they were invited to perform but MAMA made sure to make them do covers to stay "relevant" to majority of their audiences since ateez was only popular in the west. Ofc atz/kq accepted the offer since it already a huge thing for small companies to appear on MAMA. Those 3 mins were really precious to them and they made sure to mark their presence.

As for covers, I think it’s good to get the attention of ppl who are there - even if a group is amazing, if you don’t know the song it can feel hard to connect, but if you throw in some songs they do know as well as performing their own song, it’s a great way to captivate the audience which they surely did 😍
@@melaniereacts Yes, I agree. I remember watching them performing this because, as an ARMY, I really liked their version of BS&T. I also was amazed with their joint performance with Stray Kids and The Boyz in MAMA 2020 when I didn't really know a lot about any of the three groups. But it wasn't until I fell in love with them after Kingdom that I realised both performances were from Ateez. So yes, being able to perform your song has to be the best feeling ever, but thanks to those covers they did I was able to recognise them two years later when I got into Ateez.

I think jongho likes doing aegyo on his own terms, he almost always acts cute and jokes with the others but he gets flustered and embarrassed if asked to do it

This performance made me an Atiny! As an Army, I was only watching MAMA for BTS as I didn't care for any other groups and the fact they did Blood Sweat and Tears and made it their own plus their incredible stage presence blew my mind and made me immediately search them up and have loved them ever since :D

i also love ship videos just because i get to see their chemistry and their bond but sometimes the fans look into things a bit too much i think, whether they're actually dating or just super close or whatever its non of our business... I never make assumptions about their sexualities or relationships (and this includes never automatically assuming theyre straight either) i like when people are just close enough and comfortable enough to cling onto each other a bit and have that contact whatever the reason behind that may be.

i just discovered your channel like 3 days ago & already watched all your videos haha. i really like watching your reactions. also i can confirm that they are a million times better live. i went to their concert in atlanta for the fellowship: beginning of the end tour and it was AMAZING. best experience ever. they performed wonderland, the same performance from kingdom, but they didn't get to bring the octopus prop because it was too large to take to america.

Wow I am so jealous that you got to see them live. It is now on my bucket list! Every live performance that I watch of theirs i just get blown away each time. And the crazy thing is - watching a perofrmance through the camera takes away a lot of the intensity of the performance. So seeing them live would be a INSAAAAANE!!!!
@@melaniereacts yes you definitely need to see them in person! i still think about it every day even though it was a month ago. their concerts are 3 hours long so it's definitely worth it! they're so much more beautiful in person too 😭

OH my, I really love that MAMA performance, honestly, the best one so far (from them, ofc) I also LOVE the 2020 one, with all the Kingdom theme, and obviously bc they did Answer and Inception, which are in my top 5 songs from them, so *-*. But this one was special bc was their first MAMA and we get to see other idols' reactions to them like BTS, TXT, and Monsta X (I think). Anyways, my forever favorite. Also, are you planning to see their Inmortal Songs performances? bc they are AMAZING!

i remember feeling so ambushed by jongho like this 2019 mama performance really showed their strengths like they piqued the audience's interest by suddenly switching to a really well known and well loved song by the biggest kpop group out there and executed it their own style with wooyoung and san really captivating the audience w their dance abilities n also their facial expressions, and seonghwa got to perform a lot of his parts from wonderland and his expressions n stability performing live was incredible, mingi's rap was strong and impressive and he had the audience going wild after unbuttoning his shirt, and while yeosang didnt have many lines in the original song wonderland im so glad they put in shinee's view thats also popular n well loved and showcases yeosang's voice more and let him stand out and yunho's voice was lovely too and he really makes the choreography look cleaner when hes in the center, hongjoong gave up a lot of his lines because of the intro but he is so charismatic it didnt feel lacking at all and then jongho just. Ambushed us. like he didnt sing a lot in the beginning and it felt like he was just giving us a taste of his vocal abilities before View started playing AND THEN HE CAME IN STRUTTING WHILE SINGING GOODBYE BABY IN THE ORIGINAL KEY DONE BY A GIRL GROUP WHILE DANCING... im pretty sure i blacked out but god they put a lot of thought into this and it was nothing short of impressive and i admire them so much and youre absolutely right for saying they dont have anything lacking individually and as a group 💕
also bts' reaction was actually from mnet's channel they used to upload idols' reactions during mama to certain groups like bts mamamoo twice etc before covid and OP actually just zoomed into bts bc it was a full camera shot with other groups in it and for some reason mnet cut out ateez's part of shinee's view from the reaction so

I have to confess something: I have never watched the 82 challenges before. But it's actually quite nice as I can enjoy them with you.
Of course, some clips I have seen in other compilations but never the whole thing. 😊
And I know the Run episode you talked about: where Suga and Jin were not too successful...🤣

Mama performance was something else. As they weren't really known too much in Korea at that time it was a huge deal. I got in the fandom shortly after and I was mind blown as I watched it. I loved the BTS reaction to it, this is the one I would have recommended for it as the captions are funny. I don't know if you missed it but I loved the bottle falling off the table during Mingi's rap part and RM looking somehow confused. 🤣(Btw please be careful with MAMA stages as they tend to get blocked for other reactors)
San and Mingi are something else. They are both very playful but insightful as well. I love these two. (Who am I kidding? I love all of them...)
Jongho however is a boss baby. He often is getting babied by the members but I'm not quite sure he enjoys it? Maybe sometimes.
He is quite independent and you can see he likes to take charge. At the same time though, I am sure he sees the affection being given by the members as a sign that he is accepted in the group - in a video he said that he sometimes feels like the odd one out. And I felt that as a pain in my heart (sorry, way to get emotional)...😔However, while he does not always like affection, he is good at initiating it at his own terms. I'm quite sure I either wrote that already in one of my comments or said that in my recorded rant... and as someone mentioned, Jongho becomes a hugging koala or sloth (Edit: probably should have named it 'baby bear' as it is nickname given by Ateez' editors on their channel) when he is hugging the other members: very slowly and carefully. I'm sure there's compilations about it as well (Edit: just looked it up. It's short but explains it well: ruclips.net/video/31TmnYt27SY/видео.html)
And yes... Woosan. I won't get into the matter that much (enough said already) but the video you've chosen is one of the first Woosan videos that were around the time I joined Atiny. It's... not that wholesome. Like you said, the moments themselves weren't that bad just the captions are unfitting and make it seem really awkward. I know people want you to react to Woosan more but for your own sake - don't do the obvious titles like 'couple goals', 'make me more single', 'jealous', 'in love' and so on. (ruclips.net/video/bKhnR2ydj5s/видео.html this one could be good - up until the 8 minute mark there is no unnecessary zooming, captioning or music. After that: a BTS song and scenes out of context. Oh, and watch Wooyoung's AOTM before as it contains spoilers)
I would really recommend reacting to all different pairings in Ateez as there are many surprises in their chemistry 😉

Aw the comment about Jongho feeling like the odd one out made me feel really sad. When did he say this? and does he still feel that way? I hope not! I can also see him being the one to want to initiate affection on his own terms, and he did say in that video at the beach that he is sorry he is not good as expressing his emotion but he is thankful to them. He is really such a cutie and so loved. I hope he knows that!

Most Koreans are not interested in idols.
I was included in 'Most Koreans', didn't know about idol's world.
I heard the 'turbulence' of the ATEEZ two months ago and tried to get their reputations known on the portal before becoming their fan. In the process, I found out the problem of KPOP's fandom.
1. Fandom does not acknowledge fault(wrong, crime) of their idols. Ignores evidence, and makes false rationalization.
2. Fandom blames talented, attractive new groups for no reason. There are few multi-fans in Korea.
3. Fandom buys too many albums, and throws them away (for example, buying 10 albums and throwing out 9)
Not a small number of fans are making that problem.
This is a way to maintain or create the popularity of their idols.
Something happened after ATEEZ's 2019 MAMA performance.
Blaming their looks and blaming the mash-up performance.
The most common accusation was that the unfamous ATEEZ appeared in MAMA, Kingdom.
And there were accusations that other big company helped ATEEZ, manipulated rankings with the power of big company. Of course they don't have such other big company.
Mingi was so cool at 2019 MAMA - he was powerful and confident.
MAMA Performance was in December 2019.
And soon ATEEZ made a comeback to 'fireworks'. But Mingi didn't make a comeback. Mingi was known to have stage fright.
Maybe Mingi was shocked by the anti's blaming?

27:29 during pre-debut san was actually not a good dancer, he failed some evaluations and he even said he used to cry bc of it, he thought he wouldn't make it to the group, but he worked SO hard, the members said he used to train so hard in dancing, more thsn everyone else during that time bc he needed to get better. And now look at him, one of the best dancers and performer out there.

it is a rare view to see ateez doing bright concepts like these, so at the time, all of us were really happy to be getting a never seen before bright concept from them, even though it was just a cover.

ATEEZ MAMA 2019 was my first ATEEZ Videos
Wooyoung and San are very affectionate towards each other, most likely due to one of their love languages being physical touch! It’s fairly obvious to most people that they’re very close friends and like you said, people who take their moments out of context are really doing a disservice to them & their relationship. I love watching ship videos because they manage to catch small, cute details. However, many compilations like this one take it too far with their commentary. It also perpetuates toxic masculinity and implies that two men cannot be affectionate towards each other without being gay - which is ridiculous.
Sexymochi has a lot of great woosan videos with 0 commentary, as well as other pairing videos that I personally really enjoy. I love seeing varying friendship dynamics and it’s what got me into Ateez. You should react to some woosang videos (I think sexymochi has a video on them) - they’re one of my favorite pairings! Granted, they have known each other the longest :)

Loved your video, as always! I too found the commentary with the WooSan video very uncomfortable. I don't like these assumptions that people make about artists and their sexuality either.

I love Woosan but that video was kinda uncomfortable tbh, there are so many wholesome Woosan videos out there that show their genuine friendship and love for each other, so yeah, I agree with you, I also don't like when people take things out of context and try to play them up as romantic or sexual when they're just regular cute moments between two people who are close.
Yeah it was a little uncomfortable at times. A lot of people sent me some better ones. I am so keen to see their bond…. In a non cringy way 🤣

Sometimes it's kinda hard to tell when two people are friends or just friendly and told to act close, but at least with those two there is no doubt, which makes me really happy, I can trust what I see 😅. K-pop gives trust issues.

The thing is they are the most "popular" pair of the group, as you see they are really affectionate with each other, specially bc both of them are the most affectionate members. But there are too many ppl shipping them. Sadly there are also ppl who say they just do fanservice. When its not true, its just that there are TOO MUCH videos on yt where fans take everythinf out of context.
But they are actually SO close with each other and its something you can see. For example, they have matching friendship tattoos with the phrase amicus ad aras. Or that they are both close with each other families, like they spend time with each other families a lot, you can see it in the third video i suggested. Or how much they know and support each other. They actually have such a beautiful, special and unique friendship, its sad people overanalyze everything.
I reacted to "wooyoung's birthday live more like woosan being s chaotic mess" in one of my other videos - I absolutely loooooved this! It was hilarious and showed how well they get along.
You can tell it's definitely not fan service, they have a very obvious bond. But shipping them sexualy is just creepy in my eyes. Even if they were to be a couple, I still don't want to watch videos over analysing everything.

The BTS reaction is poor quality because its cropped footage that originally included TXT and Monsta X. I prefer the version without subs because I think any ARMY can pretty easily tell what the guys are thinking just by watching them and the subs are kind of distracting to me in a video where there's already so much to watch, but idk, maybe I'm just old and I don't understand XD
There's also a video of ATEEZ reacting to BTS's crazy epic performance that year. You may have already seen it, but it's adorable. Woosan are so hyped for their sunbaes and I related so much 💜
