They increase your popularity and possibly solves male pattern baldness. All kidding aside, this is purely an aesthetic modification to clean up the engine bay. It's quite noticeable for such a small but noticeable flaw and when you see it in person, you'll wonder why Audi didn't do it that way from the factory. If you have the Eventuri, Armaspeed or the ECS intakes, the ugly black hoses pop out even more when they're sitting next to a nice piece of carbon fiber.
