Erick Seltzer - Isn’t it interesting to look back and watch. We are the same age. I only got to see these shows at that age if I was home sick from school...probably you, too 😆. It felt so special! Back when people were actually impressed to be on a game show. And Bob Barker was a big star to me!
Mark Chapman Glad to know that you are enjoying our version.Game Show Network here in the USA showed a bunch of the classic shows from 1996-2001.They were the shows from 1972-1980s.Only certain shows aired due to furs as prizes.Bob Barker is an animal rights activist.
I LOVE the early shows from the 70's and 80's. It's fun to see what was available back then. And Bob Barker was an amazing host! Don't get me wrong, I love the U.K. show too (and as I live there I had better!,) but Bob is so warm and friendly throughout his whole reign. Live long and prosper, BOB! The other thing that was great about this show it always had prizes nobody wanted.
I wasn't born till March 1, 82. But God I wish I was him then. No grey hair, popular as F***, rich. I would've been living at a Thomas Kinkade inspired property, spending my days off sitting in a lawn chair next to a beautiful stream getting drunk as shit and enjoying everything I have!
Wow. Back in the days when people were still impressed with minor celebrities. I was 9 years old when this aired...and the only time we got to watch this was if we were home sick...so it felt extra special. The show held such mystique. I pictured a gigantic Price is Right mansion with rooms...the stage seemed GIGANTIC to me (when in reality, it was pretty small) and actually being on the show seemed as far away to me as flying to Jupiter. It was other-worldly.
Big difference is between the two games: In the Shell game you get to decide where you want place a chip when you win a prize, Bonus game you only get the section where you won that prize.
The shows I watched I know Bob must start off knowing with shell it starts off to be, when he rotates them usually it's the last one and it moves around and you see where it ends up, he has to know
Hi Jessy! I won the showcase on "The Price is Right" show #3921D, aired December 22, 1980 (it was a Christmas show). This was really before people had VCR's, so I never was able to get a copy. Is there anyway you know of to get a copy of this show?
Also for each of those 6 One Bid Prizes, I would have guessed the following. Stereo Console: $620 Portable Dishwasher: $340 Brass Coat Rack: $265 Washer/Dryer: $550 Laurel Lamps: $470 Barbecue Gas Grill: $390
I remember this day as it was my 9th birthday! Love watching these older TPIR episodes. Thank you for posting them.

7:17 Remember that whenever you hear that Bell, that can only mean one thing.
Keep it up. I want more episodes from those years.
Haha! I turned 3 years old that day!
Including the one bid prizes, The contestants won a grand total of $27,677.

True, but there were also interim announcers:

Good catch! Lol!!!
40:23 : "Hey, let ME grab some of that!"
This was, I believe, the 1st time Golden Road's surprise wasn't given away so early.
Stoney did excellent on danger price. 😀👍
I just realized that the Shell Game and the Bonus Game are essentially the same game, except for the potential $500 bonus in the Shell Game.
Forgive me if I'm insulting your intelligence, but I feel compelled to say this: You never noticed that until NOW?
Big difference is between the two games: In the Shell game you get to decide where you want place a chip when you win a prize, Bonus game you only get the section where you won that prize.

What is the proper term for the kind of dress the models were wearing during the first showcase
Don't Know What It's Called But They Use Those Dresses Usually During The 2nd Showcase When The First Showcase Had a Boat in It.
I wonder if all of the (almost)10,000 episodes are transferred to fresh media.Videotapes do break after a certain amount of time.
great show Jessy

Well, four out of 6 games won, including a car. Shame about Golden Road being lost.
Stormy Weathers! Bhahaha 6:56
Wait there's a classic van on golden road
Golden Road is difficult to win.
