  • Here is a 1981 episode of TPIR.
    Pricing Games:
Shell Game (this playing proves that the way it's played today is STILL as fun as it used to be, even after the cash bonus increase, and that it is just as hard to win it today as it was back then)
    Ten Chances
    Squeeze Play
    Danger Price
    Money Game
    Bullseye

A couple of things about this episode - it was good to see the old Danger Price layout and Money Game being played as a floor game and not on the turntable; they played my favorite music during Bullseye and I agree that the "Time Capsule" showcase was one of the best theme ones they ever did. Too bad all of that stuff is now history as the show will never be as good as it used to be.

I just tried to get through an episode with drew Carey and everyone acted like idiots. Miss you Bob.

Cool! This episode was among several episodes with the "Time Capsule" segment, where we can hear both the Jerry Goldsmith-composed main title march theme from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and the disco-take on John Williams' theme from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Thanks for posting!

I'm getting secondhand WHAS flashbacks. I wish Pluto TV would branch out into also airing the 1973-81 and 1988-2007 episodes.

One of the last episodes of TPIR where a fur coat was the prize. Bob Barker became an animal rights activist and didn’t allow fur coats to be given on the show.

    Hi GSR!
I won the showcase on "The Price is Right" show #3921D, aired December 22, 1980 (it was a Christmas show). This was really before people had VCR's, so I never was able to get a copy. Is there anyway you know of to get a copy of this show?

That fur coat can't have sat comfortably on Bob, even if he didn't have to wear it....

This was before his anti-fur agenda.

    • @amandajstar
      @amandajstar 4 года назад

@@NickCMedia I see. I don't think the show was any the worse off for ditching the furs. It always seemed downright strange anyway for southern California, and one fur I saw recently in a sort of stitch-odd-pieces pattern looked simply dreadful.

@@amandajstar ... Fur coats aren't worn for warmth any more than "painter pants" are worn for painting. Furs are abundant in any place where there is money, and that would be Southern California. Nothing "downright strange" about it.
