- This might be an ongoing series on this channel. It is basically a series of videos I recorded of some unusual, RARE, and amazing stuff happening around the MTA subway. Prepare to foam boiz. My rarest occurrence was an r142 being on the 3 train line I saw it at 135th Street
My rarest occurrence is a r142 at 125 street on the A,B,C,D trains.

i think its rare to find r68 with 80s rollsign cause they have everything and the letters are thinner like the N Q J L etc

I remember occasionally seeing the brown diamond R on R46 cars.
2:55 Diamond Q trains were used in the early 2000s when 34th Street-Herald Square was the southern terminus for the B and D trains because of track work on the Manhattan Bridge and diamond Q trains went Brighton Express
They also used the Diamond Q in the early 90s before they started that track work on the B/D train line; when the Q terminated at Queensbridge-21st.

just to let people know, That's an original r68 rollsign from 1986, I know 2508, all of the shuttle cars have this rollsign, 2874 is new to me, they must have thrown in an old sign to replace the rollsign.

r68's nor r46's/r44's cant run on the L, M, J, Z lines because of the tight curves
R44 is on SIR (Staten Island Railroad).
@@fatimamartins5925 there was an actual r44 that ran on the a,c and f lines but it retired in 2010-2011

The rollsign scrolling is obviously a huge foam here and i really love it. I do have a couple of questions though.
1. If the r68 has E, F, L, M and R signs, why doesn't the r68's ever go into those lines in service?
2. Why isn't there a Z sign?! I would've love that even more because i think that would've been an even bigger foam (at least to me) than the E, F, J, L, M and R combined!
To answer the first question, The R68s will not run QBL because of CBTC. The same applies for the L. To answer your second question, there won't ever be a Z Sign because theres no purpose for it since R68s dont fit on The J/Z.

But now i have another question. why didn't the people working in the nyc subway system ever put the r68's on those lines or QBL before the CBTC was even installed and put in? They had the time and chance to put the r68's on the E, F and R lines before the CBTC even happened but they didn't.

Yeah I used to drive those and remember for a short time using a set of R32s for a B train. A pear of R40 slants were used as school cars at Bedford park yard after retirement but not sure if they are still there. I never operated any 75 foot cars on the J, M, or Z. M trains used to run the West End but were the shorter 8 car trains. NYC needs to do a “Holiday Train” like Chicago.
For the Holiday train, where would it run? My top candidates are Flushing, Lexington, Jamaica, Culver to Coney Island, Brighton or Canarsie lol
Also to add, Philly also does a holiday train called Santa Exp.

Yup J, M, L, and Z Rollsigns are on an R68. This was an old 80s sign from what I've heard.

@@legomta-munipalssubways2762 This has to be an old sign. This was dated 1986 because R68s (and R68As) cannot run on JLMZ because of the sharp curves on the route. The R68 and R68A are both 75 foot (23 m) long. Newer signs for the R68 do not have J, L, M, Z.

The Diamond Q was an express service for the Q train in Brighton due to the B train running between 21-Street-Queensbridge to 34th Street at the time I think...
But what is the purpose of diamond ? I never heard diamond before...
