The EV6 design is so unique that it is sort of an SUV, a hot hatch, a station wagon, and a sports car all in one vehicle

Great video. You really hit all the major points of the GT. I have one as a daily driver. What a perfect hauler. My drumset fits just fine. And when you want to go fast.....

Loved this review. I felt you focussed on the appeal of the car, its multiple personalities (in a good way), and to some extent how it makes you feel, in a way that most other reviews don’t. I think you nailed it regarding driver engagement, which is definitely lacking in the EV’s that are trying to make the driver redundant. :)

Nice video Bill. Wish I had my EV6 with me instead of my ID.4 when we met that time in Breaux Bridge, LA. I really enjoy my EV6

Nice review! Better than most out there. I would agree with your conclusion as well. I think the Wind or GT-line are better suited for you if what you have is a mid level Mach-E. I just recently picked up the GT and love it but only cause of my needs right now. I'm the only driver so power and memory seats don't matter to me as it usually would in the past. This isn't a luxury car so I don't except all those items. I got it cause I wanted a fast sport car and not so much a track car even though I could take it there. This is where the Ioniq 5N will fill that void as I feel like it's more of a track car then it is a road car like the GT. This is my first Kia and EV! This far exceeded my expections on both. The Kia now is way different than how they were 10 years ago. The GT is the best budget sport performance car. The only other EV sport car I would get would be the Taycan right now but we all know those are twice to four times the price!
As for your charging curve issue. Did you precondition the battery prior to charging it? I believe this was the reason why it started so slow. I'm was able to get the 235kW rate right away recently. The Kia claim could be true if all conditions are met. By the time it was halfway through your charge the battery was warm enough provide you that higher rate. I have charge it w/o preconditioning before and was only getting around 75kW or so.
Lastly I think Kia and Hyundai don't sell that much cause of many reason but I think the big part is just brand recognition. When people think of EVs now they think of Telsa cause they're everywhere especially here in CA. They're nice car and should fit most people out there but I wanted something different and more of a car then it is electric. Telsa are the new Honda or Toyota when it comes to EVs. When people think of Kia and Hyundai they're only reminded of the stigma of the past. If they honestly look at the brand again it would blow their mind really. I would say I'm kinda guilty of this too but I'm more open minded then most people out there. I do have brand loyalty but I've been curious about Kia and Hyundai for the past 5 years or so though. I believe it all started with the Telliride 😊.

Thanks. No, I didn't precondition it before charging. I think it's more likely the CCS charger wasn't at full strength. Keep enjoying the GT. It's an awesome EV.

Had a deposit on one of these until I drove it. Currently have a 2011 jaguar xj xj351 so was a tough act to follow. Only so much performance is needed on public roads, the rest is wasted. Was plasticky and creaky with noisy wind over the side mirrors and harsh suspension so I stuck with my beautiful Jag and saved over £40k.

Concerning the EV6 GT's suspension, a reminder that it does adjust according to driving mode so if you had it in Sport or GT mode you would have experienced a firmer ride while the more leisurely modes would provide a smoother ride. While your Jaguar is a higher end automobile, the xj xj351's somewhat pokey 4.6 second 0-60 time compared to the EV6y GT's 3.2 seconds illustrates how fast things are changing.

@@EVRider Tried it in all modes as I'd managed to get a 24 hour test drive. The 0-60 time is still irrelevant on public roads, especially in the UK where the condition of the roads is rapidly deteriorating and trafic volume is too high to experience the fun of the power. My xj351 is only the 3.0 diesel so about 6 seconds to 60 but still so much more refined than the ev6. After taking into account the depreciation of the new car, low milage covered and rising electricity. Recharge costs of the ev6, I feel I made the right decision. Maybe in a few years time I'll consider a used ioniq 5.

@@RoadcraftNottingham No question, EVs - and most cars - have gotten terribly expensive. Since you're a Jaguar fan, what do you think of the I-Pace?
